Here at Ecluse, we strive to give our guests our memorable and personal «Ecluse Experience,» therefore reservations are needed for groups of 7 – 10 people. To give your group the time and attention they deserve, we do require groups of this size to arrive by 10:30am. Tasting appointments must be made in advanced and we are unable to accommodate more than 10. To schedule a tasting reservation, please give us a call!

Our Lock Vineyard is known for producing some of Paso Robles most sought-​after grapes. We are dedicated to producing small, limited production, hand-​crafted, award winning Rhone and Bordeaux style wines:

History

Established in 1997.

Our adventure as a small boutique winery and vineyard began in 1997 when we purchased 30 beautiful acres of gently rolling hillside terrain on the desired Westside of the Paso Robles AVA. Our philosophy from the beginning has been that great fruit makes great wine.

We were excited at the prospect of planting a vineyard that could take advantage of our special location, microclimate and exposure to the northeast, the southeast and the south. Because the soils in our vineyard are quite varied ranging from calcareous limestone on the hill tops to areas with clay and loam near the bottoms of the gentle hills we were able to take advantage of the subtleties of the soils by choosing the optimum varietals to plant. Thus Lock Vineyard came to life in 1998 with the planting of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Zinfandel. In the past year we have decided to add blending varietals to the vineyard.

Écluse Wines may not be familiar to people yet BUT stand by. Écluse is our small, family owned boutique winery of Lock Vineyards dedicated to producing limited production, hand-​crafted, award-​winning wines. Lock Vineyard was already well known for producing some of Paso Robles most sought-​after grapes and now fabulous wines.

A question almost always asked of us is about our name Écluse. The explanation is simple — Écluse is French for the locks on the canals that gently carve their way through the remarkable French wine country — since our last name is Lock the name Écluse for our wines was born.

We have our own small winery onsite which gives us the added benefit of hand harvesting and crushing small lots throughout the vineyard so the fruit is at it’s peak. Having the control from the vineyard to the bottle insures that Écluse will remain the truly remarkable wine that it is today.
