Every wine was a solid representation of what that varietal should be. Joined the club, bought two Barbera and a Cab Sauv. Really smart pricing with club discount.
Carol tempted us with very appropriate nibbles to compliment the wines.
We are so sorry it took us more than 6 years for steady tasting at over 60 wineries in Paso to find this great place. Those of us of Italian heritage will feel right at home. Check their website for Italian recipes for all occasions.

What a wonderful experience. This is a multi-​generation winery with the children of the founders, now with degrees and a lifetime of experience now operating the winery. The quality of the wine remains very high and if you want big reds, this is the place. The Italian varietals are the best of the area, combined with the personable and incredibly well versed stories make this a top of the list winery to visit. Yes — Yes — Yes — Incredible — When friends visit this is always one of the first stops. A hit every time.

Make sure you stop here first on your wine tour! We took our daughter for her 21^st. birthday, this place hands down has the best Italian wines. The family Carole and Gino were wonderful hosts, teaching us about wine making and tasting. The views and grounds are stunning. Must try the delicious dark chocolate with the wine. We will be back! Thank you for a wonderful experience.

First trip back since joining their wine club last year, and this continues to be our favorite Italian wine house in Paso… and their wines rival many of the Italian wines I buy from the old country. Bel Bruzzo was a big hit with us, but the Zin was also fantastic… first sip, and the next sip with a choc raspberry bit supplied by FP just exploded with chocolate flavors.
These are bigger style wines begging to be laid down for years or decanted for a few hours to have with a great Italian meal.

This is a small, family run winery that makes mostly Italian varietal red wines. High quality, good value, big wines not for the faint of heart. If you like your wines on the bolder side… think wines with pastas and red sauces or meats… this is your place. Being small, they will run out of some wines over the course of a year, but if they have the Zinfandel or Cabernet Sauvignon be sure to taste them. Probably the best in the area.

wine just keeps getting better and then you have Carol there to pour for you and she truly makes you feel welcome We love her and her family and never leave there with less then a case !!!
We have brought many friends to taste and they are all members now and loving it.

Love the Italian varietals– a nice break from the traditional Paso wines. All were very smooth– unlike mid-​range chiantis, these would be comparable to higher end Italian blends.
The owner was super friendly and when I noticed an old Paso Wine festival poster hanging on the wall, she mentioned that they were the 12^th winery to be established within the city– who knew! That clued me in that they are well established, know how to create good quality wine, and they are not in the business of being a big marketing company like other well-​known names in the area.
Enjoyed our visit– bought a few bottles, and hope to return again ;-)

This was the first place I have ever gone to for wine tasting. Although I was not a fan of wine before this place changed my mind. The wine here is truly something great. I loved the service here as well, they really do a good job of matching and pairing the wines to bring out the flavor.
Whenever you come to this area be sure to stop here, it’s an experience you will be very happy about.

If you want incredible, Italian varietal wines, look no further. Fratelli Perata was my first winery visit, brought by a friend, upon my relocation to SLO from SoCal. Now, it’s the first we hit when we go tasting. One, to bring in our friends with clean palates to fully enjoy some of the best wine in the valley. Two, to visit Carol and her family for a chat. I love this winery!!! So much so that I didn’t think twice about joining their wine club.
–Their wines: the only do reds, which only makes me love them more. I haven’t had a wine here yet that I haven’t enjoyed. They’re all perfection! My favorites are the Barbera, the Bambino Grande, and the Charbono.
–The people: what I love most about this winery is the Perata family. Each and every one of them are so down to earth and friendly. I’m greeted like family every time I walk in, making for a wine tasting that’s both knowledgeable and passionate. To top it all off, wine club members get a packet of «tech sheets» with each shipment chock full of information about your bottles, pairing suggestions, and even a recipe tested by Carol herself. Such a great family and winery!

Small, Italian-​style winery off the main wine trail. The owner is very sweet; she made us feel welcome and comfortable because we are not connoisseurs! She explained a lot and kept us engaged without overdoing it.
The wines are good but on the acidic side. We enjoyed the Bella and bought 2 bottles.

We loved this place. No frills, no fancy room, just great tasting Italian red wine. Every tasting I could imagine myself eating with a meal. Each wine was different and unique and totally enjoyable. We went home with a couple of bottles and were so happy we went came here. Will be back next time!

Hands down the best Winery in Paso. I love this place and it holds a special place in my heart not only for the amazing wines but because my now husband asked me to marry me here.
They were so welcoming to the idea and I will forever be a member of their winery. I can’t get enough of their wines. Their wines are beautifully made and every time we share a glass with friends they are wowed by it.

Very beautiful views, friendly owners, all reds and pretty good ones. Barbera was my favorite. They had small appetizers (olives, cheese, etc) and even made mushroom risotto for the visitors. Very nice winery!

My first winery review! crazy.
The day I visited Fratelli Perata, my companions and I got a very knowledgeable driver to take us to designated spots. Then we had a bright idea — hey you, driver man, what’s your favorite winery in the area? lo and behold, Fratelli. We settled onto an outdoor patio, sitting at a round table with umbrella and spread out a ton of picnic food we had brought along. Our gracious driver insisted he hand deliver the pours.
We were floored. I was with the 2 owners of the small boutique wine shoppe I work for and my sister. Each wine coming out just kept getting better and better. Fratelli Perata grapes root back to 1980 and the winery focuses on producing vines with fewer clusters through «dry-​farming», resulting in small berries packed with intense flavor.
In Paso Robles, it’s easy to come by wines whose grapes have been «over-​worked» and you end up with a ripe, somewhat indiscernible, «flat» wine. Not at Fratelli. Great care is taken in the wine making process in a predominately Italian style winery. The wine had lovely rustic/​barnyard distinction in palate and nose. The varietals came through clean and elegant, with excellent balance. I loved every single wine, but especially enjoyed the blends Tre Sorelle and Bambino Grande and single varietals chabono, petit syrah, and cab franc.
Time for another trip to Paso!

Only reds! My kinda place! I stopped here en route from LA to SF to take myself on an adventure to break up my drive. I chose this winery because I love Italian wines. It was a beautiful vineyard and a cute little tasting room. The tasting included like 8 different wines! Rad. I think I fell in love after testing the sanguiovese. Fantastic. I decided to join the wine club even though I typically stick to more local wineries so I can easily pick up my wine. I am so excited to share my first shipment (that I brought home with me) with my guy. Thank you Fratellis for a wonderful wine experience.

Best wine offering for the price in Paso. Make sure you stop here, vines are from the mid 80s and offering for the price is incredible.

This boutique winery doesn’t show up on a lot of maps, the tasting room here is small, off the beaten path, up a dirt road and very little parking. Some guides recommend making reservations, though I never have. The tasting experience can be slightly off for some tasters I’ve brought here that have been conditioned to expect the fruit forward style of Paso. The wines in the tasting room can be tight with a moderate dose of acid and tannin (in a good way). Varietal consistency can vary slightly from year to year because the wines are all dry farmed with each vintage expressing the conditions of that year, no apologies!
Some wines they produce are good to go younger such as their Bel Bruzzo or Zinfandel. But if you have the will power to hold some bottles for at least a year or two you will be rewarded handsomely. I just opened their 2007 Tre Sorelle (Bordeaux Blend) and it was magnificent. They do a Sangiovese that exemplifies how well these wines can bloom given time in the bottle and time to open. The Cabernet Reserva, if you can get any, is as good as any Cab I’ve tasted in Paso.
The WINE is the greatness of Fratelli Perata. No fanciness. No big pickup parties. I think they only recently offered wine dinners for club members. This is food friendly wine here folks with moderate alcohol. All the wines here are flavorful, extracted, and deep in color.
Take some time to get to know this great place.

Fratelli is one of the relatively unusual wineries in the area as they do mostly Bordeaux rather than Rhone grapes, evidenced rather clearly by their Italian name. So that being said, if you like the French wines more, head for Tablas or one of the other wineries in the area. The flavors here are big, bold, and mostly RED!
First off, they’re only open Thursdays through Sundays and it’s best to call for an appointment (basically just to let them know you’ll be there and make sure someone will be on hand too). My boyfriend and I called and left a message the day before we went, we got a call back saying to stop in on Thursday any time. Very friendly and not pretentious at all so don’t be afraid to call up.
In fact, the whole experience was a bit stereotypically perfect. After a beautiful drive out there, we pulled up and the premises is absolutely charming — pretty sure the house where the Perata family lives is directly next to the tasting room. There is a great little gazebo with breathtaking views right next to the parking area for pictures. We walked through a cute little garden into the tasting room and one of the daughters, Joann, came in right away to start pouring. She was EXTREMELY knowledgable as well as friendly (did a degree in viticulture, I believe) and we had a great time chatting with her. The entire family is obviously extremely involved in all parts of the process.
The wines themselves are impeccable. I’m a broke college student and happily paid twice as much as I’ve ever spent before on a bottle of wine for one of their Zinfandels. The aromas are rich and distinct, and Joann told us all about the (recommended) aging of the wines and what pairs well with them — which was the only person we visited our entire trip who did that so naturally and right off the bat! Great big flavors while still being totally palatable, and she was very generous with the pours, unlike lots of places who will be a bit stingy with it.
Wish I had a bit more money, I’d definitely join their club with zero hesitation. Absolutely the best winery in the area in my opinion.

First visited Fratelli Perata back in October. Joined the wine club on that first visit and made two quick return trips to replenish the rapidly depleting FP stock! Loved the wines, the small family run atmosphere, and the excellent customer service. Carol and her daughters (Cathy and Joann) openly welcome everyone to THEIR winery.
The wines are made for food and they do a great job helping you pair their wines with your recipes. Their website also has some great recipes and suggested pairings. The lemon and garlic shrimp with Charbono was awesome as a Christmas Eve appetizer!!!

Carol is the best and we love chatting with her about wine, and really all kinds of things. We couldn’t wait for our next shipment so we bought some more wine in the mean time.
