Sundance Bed & Breakfast is an enchanting villa off a private road overlooking a newly planted estate vineyard that provides breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and vineyards in the beautiful Paso Robles Wine Country. With 3 indiividually-​themed suites (4 bedrooms), Sundance offers luxurious yet pleasingly comfortable accommodations with a delicious sweet or savory gourmet breakfast every morning and the Sundance Social Hour — featuring complimentary local wines — every afternoon!

All the suites feature Westin «Heavenly» King or Queen beds, high-​quality bedding and linens, down pillows and comforters, oversized 100% Organic Turkish Cotton towels, Free Wi-​Fi, HD Satellite TV, Blu-​ray DVD players, mini-​refrigerators, pure cotton robes and complimentary bottled water.

History

Established in 2012.

Sundance Bed and Breakfast is the culmination of a decades-​long dream of Chef/​Owner Alma (with a supporting role played by her husband Neil!). We moved to Paso Robles Wine Country to open Sundance in 2012 and are now in full swing — come enjoy the beautiful views, beautiful rooms and beautiful food for the perfect getaway, whether for a day, a weekend or an entire week!

Alma moved to Paso Robles from Los Angeles in 2012 to create and run Sundance Bed & Breakfast. In LA, she worked as a television and live event producer, primarily for Spanish-​language television programming, commercials and public service announcements. She made a career change to pursue her passion for cooking and fine food by enrolling in Culinary School in Hollywood. After graduating with honors, she interned under Master Chef Michael Cimarusti in the kitchen of one of LA’s finest restaurants: Providence on Melrose Ave. From there she helped open LA Mill in Silverlake (voted one of the 10 best boutique coffee shops in the country by Bön Appetit Magazine) and then worked with Wolfgang Puck Catering in Hollywood. Opening Sundance Bed & Breakfast allows her to combine her skills as a designer, a chef, and an event organizer with her love of people, her passion for great service, gourmet food and fine wine in a breathtakingly beautiful setting!

After a thorough research for the perfect Bed and Breakfast, I decided to go with what I first laid eyes on, Sundance. And, I AM MORE THAN HAPPY I DID SO!
Neil and Alma were absolutely amazing! Alma’s breakfasts are SO SO SO SO good. My brother was ready to move in and be a permanent guest. She also does dinners!!! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to try it but I already know it will be just as great!
She also educated us about the town, where to go, places to visit and restaurants for lunch and dinner. She even told us what to try where!
Neil definitely helped in with the suggestions! He gave us great insight about the wineries, and both helped us plan our day to visit some of the must see wineries and must try wines!
The place itself is SO beautiful, the rooms are absolutely stunning, the décor and the ambiance is exquisite.
They’re so accommodating, helpful and nice! We felt like we were visiting an old relatives home. They are very inviting and welcoming. They make you feel right at home.
Thank you Neil and Alma, for making my moms birthday so so special and wonderful!!! We cannot wait to visit again, and we are bringing our family this time! Thank you for everything!

Amazing anniversary experience at Sundance
My wife and I had truly an amazing experience at Sundance this week. Alma was a wonderful host, an amazing cook and very personable. The room was perfect, decorated with high end fixtures that were both contemporary and created the feel that you were in rolling hills of Tuscany. We were close to wine tasting, the coast or fine dining in downtown Paso Robles. We enjoyed the breakfast and the early evening wine and cheese sitting under the wisteria covered trellis on the back patio

You truly feel like you’re in Tuscany at this very special place. After a brief country road drive from Paso Robles (15 min.), you arrive at the private drive lined with cypress trees. The architecture mimics a traditional Italian villa, inside and out. The owners have spared no expense to make the property unique, authentic, and comfortable. Beautifully designed interior space, every room (bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining room) was sophisticated yet unpretentious. When we arrived, Alma met us at the door and welcomed us in. Since it was a slow day, she graciously offered us an upgraded room (50⁄50 suite), which was exquisite. It was a room with a view that was breathtaking. Overlooking the vineyard and golden rolling hills, you could see for miles. So serene and quiet. The king bed was appointed with beautiful linens/​duvet that was so comfy, a super quiet overhead fan, a very roomy double sink bathroom that even had views! There was so much attention to detail, making for a unique experience. And the morning 3-​course breakfast was stunning. Alma prepared for us yummy pumpkin pancakes, a grilled pear with marscarpone and raspberry sauce, and lastly a rustic open-​faced sandwich topped with pesto, prosciutto, and sunny side up egg, heirloom cherry tomatoes and basaltic drizzle. It was amazing. My only regret was we were only there for one night, weren’t there for her Saturday night dinner service. A beautiful place, lovely owners, and can’t wait to come back to Italy in California.

Stayed there this weekend for our 20th Anniversary… it was amazing. It is a Tuscany style home and has amazing views. Alma and Neal are very personable and accommodating. We will definitely be returning next year and at that time we will schedule to eat dinner there as well and avoid the drive into town.

This place really knocked us out. We felt like we were in an old Tuscan villa. I mean the view from our bedroom window was insanely beautiful, it felt unreal.
Unfortunately Alma and Neil were off on their own vacation when we stayed here, but the lovely Cheryl took good care of us with the most delicious breakfasts and afternoon «social hour» spreads.
The good/​bad thing about this B & B is that it’s like a 20 – 30 minute drive to Paso Robles and all the major wineries. There are a few smaller wineries really close and those are worth checking out too (Hidden Oak!). It was nice to be away from downtown Paso Robles and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Sundance and its surrounding vistas/​vineyards.

Where do I even start? Our recent stay at Sundance Bed and Breakfast in Paso Robles was absolutely sublime and exceeded all expectations. As local California food, wine and travel enthusiasts, we did not anticipate the superior level of comfort, hospitality and service we experienced during our visit. Accommodations were exquisitely tasteful and so elegant. The three-​course breakfasts were divine, sumptuously delicious and artfully presented. The views surrounding the grounds were breathtaking, the property sits high with panoramic vineyard views. Alma and Neil were very friendly and warm. We really appreciated the time Alma took with us to recommend some great wineries and restaurants. Thank you so kindly from both of us (Jen and Robert). And a special thanks to my honey R. for choosing such a perfect place to celebrate my birthday!

Part of me wants to abstain from writing a glowing review for fear that this will quickly become the most popular place to stay in Paso Robles… and it will then be booked for a year in advance.
From beginning to end, our stay here was top notch. We stayed in the Dolce Vita suite, which is to die for. Alma has impeccable taste and incredible attention to detail. Everything that you could even think to ask for is already there waiting for you (corkscrew, wine glasses, toothbrush, books, magazines, movies!) The room was so comfortable and well appointed that we wished we could have stayed another day just to spend time in there instead of out and about. Now about the breakfast… in short, we were dreaming about the breakfasts we would no longer be enjoying once we got home. Two words — almond croissant. To die for! We were so sad to leave and needless to say cannot wait to go back!

Alma and Neil have an understanding of the good life. This is a Bed & Breakfast of the highest caliber both in terms of Bed and Breakfast. Attention to detail is what sets them apart from the rest. The finest bedding, the marble-​tiled bathroom, the three-​course breakfast, well-​appointed rooms and terrace. Most of all, we enjoyed their warm hearts of hospitality and welcome. They made our 21st anniversary relaxing and memorable. Being a creature of variety, my husband was shocked to hear me say I wanted to come back.

Amazing experience! Neil and Alma are very accommodating and have created a unique experience in an exquisite location. Luxury all the way. Gourmet breakfast and four course dinner with wine tasting menu. WOW! We stayed in La Dolce Vita which is an elegant, relaxing, beautifully decorated room with an oversized bathroom. Giant dual head shower, jetted tub for two, even a bidet! Bed is the most comfortable and linens are over the top comfy. Do yourself a favor and stay here for a weekend to remember!

My boyfriend and I stayed here a few weeks ago and absolutely loved it! It was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast, and now our expectations are high. The couple that owns it are welcoming and warm. The wife is a phenomenal cook. We stayed a Saturday night and did the private gourmet dinner. Highly recommend it. Also they give you great recommendations for wine tasting in that area. All around great experience. You won’t be disappointed.

Stayed here our anniversary weekend, it was a trip to remember. This was our first ever stay at a B&B and I doubt it can ever be topped. The accommodations were BEAUTIFULLY AMAZING! Every detail was picture perfect. Alma and Neil were wonderful host and Alma is a fantastic chef. This place is a real jewel, its a must go.

We can’t say enough good things about Sundance B&B. The innkeepers, Neil and Alma, are charming and very helpful – and Alma is an amazing chef. Her breakfasts are worthy of a world-​class restaurant. She occasionally does Saturday night dinners; we didn’t get to enjoy one but will when we return! The room was spotless, and the bed amazingly comfortable. Just sitting on the back patio and soaking in the view was heaven. We felt like we were in the Tuscan countryside. If you are thinking about a wine country tour in Central California, be sure to stay at this wonderful and intimate place!

Trying to decide between several B&B’s in the area? Look no further! Sundance Bed & Breakfast is as good as it gets! My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here for our 1 year anniversary and can’t wait to go back! From the patio beautiful views of the rolling vineyards to the tastefully decorated rooms, Sundance is the perfect, relaxing and romantic getaway. One of the highlights of our trip was Chef Alma’s gourmet breakfasts. Her dishes were so delectable that we were thinking about her food while eating at one of the high end restaurants in town! Another highlight was Neil’s knowledge of wine and local wineries. Just writing about this makes me want to go back. Hmm… time to start some vacation planning!

My wife and I stayed there this past weekend before and after our wedding in Paso. Simply put the place was amazing. We stayed in the La Dolce Vida room. The view was incredible, the bed was extremely comfortable and the jaccuzzi tub came in handy. Neil and Alma were very friendly and the breakfast was delicious! we are already making plans to visit next year for our anniversary!

Just returned from a weekend at Sundance B&B in Paso Robles. The dinner and wine pairing on Saturday night is an absolute must, if you can manage it. Alma is a classically trained chef and she creates dishes that are perfect in all dimensions: texture, flavour and presentation. Neil’s knowledge of the local wineries and wine pairings with the courses were outstanding. Better than a 5-​star restaurant, because we got the same sensory indulgence in a intimate, private setting.
We stayed in the 50 – 50 Suite (Empire Room), enjoyed the luxurious surroundings, peace and quiet, fabulous views, gorgeous garden, fascinating hummingbirds and gracious hosts.

Sundance Bed and Breakfast is an amazing place to stay. The house is beautiful and makes you feel like you are in Tuscany. We stayed in the Dolce Vita room and it was gorgeous. The room is very spacious with a beautiful bathroom. The bed is so comfortable with luxurious sheets.
There is a delicious three course breakfast each morning, and it fills you up for a day of wine tasting. Our personal favorite was the rustic open faced egg sandwich.
Niel was incredibly helpful with which wineries to go to. He would help us map everything out and give us coupons. He also had a large movie selection to borrow from.
Barkley (their dog) was a very sweet addition and is adorable.
We definitely plan to stay here for any future visits!

We had a fabulous time at Sundance Bed and Breakfast (not to be confused with Sundance Inn). The Bed and Breakfast is a piece of heaven on earth. I felt we had escaped to a first class Tuscan Villa without purchasing a plane ticket. The grounds were perfectly manicured and the views and sunset were stunning. Niel and Alma are gracious host and they will make you feel at home. Our room was spacious and the linens and décor were of exceptional quality. It was also nice to wake up to a tasty three course breakfast and enjoy the evening social with delicious wine. I hope to return soon.

My husband and I spent 2 nights at Sundance to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. The Tuscan-​style home is beautiful, sitting a top rolling hills overlooking vineyards. The interior is chic and comfortable — the rooms feel as though you are in a luxurious 5-​star hotel. (And in contrast to many other B&B’s that I researched, the rooms actually are as gorgeous as portrayed on the pictures on their website.)
And then there is the food… If you are staying at Sundance on a Saturday night, do not miss the dinner and wine pairing. Alma is not just a chef, she is an artist. I am a real foodie (used to have a food blog), so my standards are high. I wanted to find a B&B with a «culinary experience» and I found exactly that.
Alma & Neil, the inn-​keepers, are warm and friendly and they welcome you into their B&B with open arms.
This to me is the best of both worlds — the luxury of a hotel and the warmth and personal touches of a B&B.
I like to travel and try new things out wherever I go, so to say this means a lot: the next time we return to Paso, we will not even consider staying anywhere else. Sundance is the place to be. No other Bed & Breakfast can top it.
We couldn’t have wished for a better place to celebrate our 10th anniversary. (I just hope I don’t have to wait another decade before returning ;-)
