As veterans of the food service industry, siblings Kam and Ling Ngai knew what they wanted to do with Ichiban Chinese Buffet. The restaurant was to be simple, clean, open. The food is surprising, inventive, delicious. Excellence was the watch word. Excellence on a daily basis. And the long-​term goal was to expand the meaning of Asian cuisine in the Metro Area. At Ichiban Chinese Buffet it doesn’t just mean tempura and teriyaki, though these certainly are on the menu. Asian food also means subtle and surprising flavors, and flavor profiles from all across the Far East. Come sample the flair today!

If you are ever in Jackson Mississippi and want Chinese food buffet style at it’s best this would be the place however; lunch is good but dinner is far much better. I would definitely go back to eat again.

This is by far the nicest chinese buffet I have ever been to. The sushi selection was great. It was delicious. The hot buffet was very good as well. I wish there was a little less american choices and more chinese choices. Everything I ate was delicious. Even the peach mango soft serve ice cream. I will eat here again. It is a little pricy for a buffet, but non the less it was excellent.

The food is good unfortunately soon after eating there my wife got food poisoning and I didn’t get off the toilet for two whole days so you can eat there at your own risk

This was my first time going to Ichiban and I wasn’t disappointed. As soon as you walk in the employees are really friendly, and the décor is nice. The restaurant was clean and the food was delicious and fresh. The sushi bar was also delicious.
The reason I am giving them three stars is because one of their employees, after flushing the toilet three times in the stall next to us, went to wash their hands and only rinsed them with water… no soap! Disgusting!
As pleasant as my server was, and as good as the food was, I will not return to this place as I will always wonder which food was handled by employees who didn’t wash their hands!!!

My first time to this new location. Cool décor, food was good, service was ehhhhhhhhhhhh, and the bathrooms are terribly inconvenient. You have to walk behind a waitress station to get to the hall way. It was very difficult and dangerous for me on my crutches. They need to take out one of the booths and move the waitress station. If they don’t fix this, I won’t eat at this location. Not what you would consider handicap accessible.
Back for a 2nd visit. Crab legs were great. Sushi options were fantastic.

This place is amazing. The sushi is good and fresh. The hot food was really good too. The staff was very nice and polite. Next time I’m in Jackson definitely coming back here. We were visiting with family and they didn’t mind us just sitting and visiting after we were done eating.

Here for lunch buffet on 2−17−16 restaurant was very clean and surprisingly busy for a week day. Food was fresh and replenished often. Not a huge selection of sushi but a good amount, most was cooked sushi, probably more popular for the area. Nothing unusual that stood out, just mostly typical items you would find on a Chinese buffet. There were a few american items such as pizza and fried chicken. It was most definitely the freshest buffet food I’ve seen within hours of Jackson. Excellent service as well.

Can you come to California? We loved coming here!!! Friendly service with a variety of delicious fresh Asian dishes along with a touch of traditional southern food. The Mississippi roll in the sushi section was great! It had a nice kick to it. We will definitely be back when we come to MS!

I like this place for the variety and selection. Also, if you want Sushi they have a large selection. The place is new and very clean. The food was fresh and the quality was good. I think there must be a place where all Chinese Buffets get their food since most have the exact same items. At Ichiban they have the same deserts but some of the items were unique and different compare to others around town.

This place was great! We got there right when the opened for dinner. It was packed, but the food was fresh and there was plenty of variety. Service was perfect, bathrooms spotless, and the buffet was clean. Loved it. Will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

Very limited choices surrounding, and the concept itself is sleek and appealing. The quality if the sushi rolls is of course lacking but still a solid eat. The rest of the buffet is what you would expect as they try and offer a local cuisine mixed with culture from over seas. The beer is perfect as you would expect! Not a fan of the buffet but this gives you an option for the area to step outside the norm. Solid and smart concept.

Fresh food on the buffet at 840pm. People were nice and friendly. The owner came by and talked with us. Very kind of food Chinese food was on the buffett… sushi, sashimi, southern, shrimp, deserts, soups, dim sum… it was fabulous, cuz I are way too much. Get the fresh lemonade.

The place is awesome! It’s the best buffet in Mississippi. The have all you can eat sushi, steak, i liked everything. A great place to spend time with your family and friends. The restaurant is clean and the service was good. The food was fresh and hot. I recommend this place to everyone!
