Discount Tire Store – Pearland, TX

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They kept my car half the day till I called to ask if it was ready. I was told it was ready for pick up at any time. Upon arriving to the store I was told in fact it wasn’t ready and nothing had even been done to it. I was then blamed for not telling them it had locking lugs on it. Ok I’ll take that hit, I had forgot I put those on over a year ago. Then they tell me they called to ask were the lug key was, but I didn’t answer. This is odd because I was in an open public space located in the middle of Houston were cell reception is amazing. I also failed to get any voice mail stating an issue had arisen. This company obviously just lied to my face that any attempt was made to contact me and then blames the issue on me. The greatest thing is they offered nothing to fix the problem so they have lost this customer for life. I will also be telling everyone I know that this company does not care about the customer in any way.

I brought my car in for tire change on Friday 8.28.15, when I left I heard my car’s sound was different. When I got home lifted the car to see what could be the reason, and I found out there was a damage in the front pipe. This damage occurred when I received my car back from the my local discount tire store. I went back to the store and the senior assistant manager told me to bring him a pricing for parts and labor. On the following day 8.29.2015 I went to the dealership and got the pricing for parts and labor. Afterwards, the manager and the assistant manger refused to fix the damage claiming the damage was not from the lifter. How come it has that damage when I got back? I demand a compensation for the damage that was done to my car. I have witnesses that my car did not have any problem before taking it to the store.
I am very frustrated and disappointment on the way the employees handled it my issue.
Their managerial skills are so poor. They should be taught how to handle business better.
Because the manager did not believe he told me «do a police report» are police that empty to handle this dispute that is so absurd.
I filled a complaint with the consumer protection and BBB. I will do whatever I can to get my right as a consumer.

Wonderful customer service. I came about 7:45am on a Saturday morning and they were already busy. As I waited in line, every single employee greeted me and assured me I would be helped as soon as possible. I had my tires rotated and balanced (for free, as I had purchased them from discount tire) and I was in and out within 30 minutes. Wonderful staff at this location. Thank you!

There is no point in even making an appointment!
Went in because my tire pressure indicator in my truck stated I had low pressure in one of my tires after having just put air in my tire a couple days prior. When I arrived and my pressure was checked the attendant told me my pressure was fine. But why was my indicator light still on? After waiting an hour I asked if my truck was ready and they had never even pulled it in to check it! So I left and had my fiancé check and he found a staple in my tire!
No stars because nothing was done. These folks didn’t take the time to look at my truck and I made an a for no reason! Go somewhere else they are a waste of time.

staff is friendly, swift and honest. I never felt cheated here nor have I felt like they were wasting my time. they never pressured me into purchasing tires, but made me aware of my tire status. I’d recommend this location to others over their competition.

I noticed a few days ago that I had a nail in my tire, but since it wasn’t losing any air I decided that instead of taking time off work to get it fixed I would wait till the weekend. Today I unexpectedly got off work early and figured it was a good time to get it done. I stopped by this Discount Tire on Broadway St. In Pearland, and was shocked to see it was so busy at 3pm! The line was almost out the door. I stood there for few minutes, debating on going some where else, when I was approached by a very friendly sales tech. I told him my issue, and after getting some info from me he took my keys and said he would have it taken care of as soon as he could. I was prepared to be there a while at that point. I sat down in the waiting room, which was very clean. About 20 minutes later I was approached by another tech and led out front where my car sat waiting on me. He said I had 2 nails in my tire!!! But it was repaired and ready to go, and the best part is it was FREE! I would highly recommend this location! Everyone was very friendly. Service was fast even when busy and I wasn’t offered anything I didn’t need! Very happy camper here!

These guys are amazing!!. They worked so quick and even opened about 20min early due to there being about 6 people waiting for them. In total I was in and out in less than 30min.

I had a nail in my tire and needed it patched so I decided to give discount tire a try. It’s conveniently located and easy to find just off of 288 on Broadway (518) The lobby is very clean and I was immediately greeted by a service tech. He asked me how he could help and I advised him of the nail in my tire. He said they could take care of it without a problem. I asked how long it would be (they looked busy) I was told 45min/​1hr. It sounded reasonable so I decided to wait. He asked for my keys and went to get information from my car. He came back in and told me I need three new tires and that the tread is completely warn down to «2» as he showed me what 2 was on a display. I had to politely call him out on that and tell him there was no way and that I know the tread has a lot left on them because (1) I only have 38k on the car/​tires and they are rated for 60k (2) I recently got an oil change and the tread depth was checked and shown to be fine. So needless to say I didn’t take or appreciate him trying to get me to buy new tires that I knew I did not even need. However, I did not let it bother me and he did not try to pressure me when I told him I didn’t want the new tires. The vehicle was finished with the hour as promised. The best part about it, it didn’t cost anything. The fact that they offer absolutely FREE tire patch/​repair regardless of where you bought your tires from is nice. I’d definitely recommend coming here if you need your tire fixed, just be cautious if you are told you need other services. As far as new tires, if you know you need them I was told that they will price match.

Never written a review before but these guys are awesome. When every other tire store was telling me the tires I needed were special order and would take 5 days, Alex called around and within 5 minutes he located the tires and had them ordered for delivery the very NEXT DAY!

I’ve never had a bad experience at discount tire, at any location. I believe the sales associates go out if their way to provide excellent service.
The online site is navigable and very user friendly. If I’m purchasing tires, I usually try to schedule an appointment ahead of time.
They offer prove match, although I’ve yet to find a set of tires cheaper anywhere else, I would always prefer to do business with Discount Tire.

They’ve always done me right. I can’t complain, but get here early cause they’re always busy.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DISCOUNT TIRES!
I dented my rim and bought a new one in Southwest Houston, brought it to Discount Tires to change out my old one. But instead of replacing it with my new one, they kept my new one, banged out my dented one and stuck it back on! The next day as I was driving on 288, I heard this loud noise and pulled over, to find my rim went through my tire! That’s when I noticed all the markings of my old rim with the same scratch marks and what looks like someone had hit it with a hammer to get the old dent out.
I had to get my car towed back to Discount Tires, where they all of sudden «found» my new rim and replaced my car with a new tire. Went to my car and found several CD’s missing, I complained to the manager that there was a CD in my CD slot and now it says «no disc found». The manager made sure that none of his staff took it. And as I walked back to my car, all the workers in the garage pointed and laughed.
Needless to say, I WILL NOT BE BACK!

So much better than every other tire shop I have ever been to. They are fast, efficient and very attentive to the customer. Whenever a line forms, service reps jump to their desks and took care of everyone. Free water and coffee in the waiting area. I have been here three times over the last eight years with various tire needs, and every time I leave very satisfied.
My only negative is that the front room is not well air conditioned. The smell of warm rubber from the display tires makes me a little heady.

Long story short, my partner ran over something on the freeway and destroyed the rim of his car. I told him to try and find one online but he needed the repair done quicker than we could get one here. He went into this location and they «shipped» one from a dealer to complete the job. We came to find out that they «shipped» this from a local rim shop and OH YEAH, they marked it up by $ 50. Wow. I asked the consultant if they could just match the price of another online vendor because the quoted price seemed a little exorbitant. He refused because my partner «agreed to the quoted price and it had already been ‘shipped’ to the location». I asked for the name of the vendor and called them directly. He quickly told me the price and my partner and I felt completely duped. Way to go for the customer service offered by the store’s employees.
Needless to say, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

My truck is 10 years old, come to find out my wheels that are just as old and no longer in business. Well good old Eric was such a gentleman to call around and order one cap from California, arrived at the shop in 10 days. Got me back rolling in style, such a good feeling

Every time I come here I get great service. It’s best to make an appt bc I always do and never have to wait too long. The gentlemen here are always very polite and knowledgable.

This place is A+ on my list!!! Nice, friendly staff. Free water and free tire change.
I had a nail stuck in my tire that I didn’t know about, but I keep hearing it when I was driving. So, I went here and told one of the guys about my situation. Immediately, one of the guys helped me and started fixing on my tire. I also asked if they could rotate my tires and the guy said yes no problem! Wow, you can barely get good staff like that anywhere. Nice and polite, no attitude. Nothing, but sweetness.

I have been buying tires here for 8 years. They carry a good stock and if not, usually can get it in the next day. I use their website to pick my tires before going in, so it’s always a quick sale. I would avoid any upsells. They rotate and balance for free if you bought your tires here, and I’ve brought a couple back that threw a weight. No problems with service.
However, they are very busy, so get there as soon as they open, or drop your car off for the day, otherwise you are in for a wait.
UPDATE. These guys really do push the sales. Go online and find your tire and make an educated purchase, then just drop your car off and avoid the salespeople. They tried to tell my wife she needed new tires and they were bald and would be dangerous to drive on and could burst any time. And the cheapest tire for her vehicle was $ 150 each. Good grief guys. Don’t take advantage of women! There were 7 cheaper tires, cheapest was $ 70. I selected a set at $ 115 each, they were due for replacement but had a safe amount of tread left.
Make your own educated purchases and tell them what needs to be done, don’t let them sell you anything.

I’ve bought tires here. I’ve also had to come in a couple of times to repair leaking tires. Sometimes they are extremely busy, and it does take a while to complete your business. When they are less busy, I’ve been in and out fairly quickly.
When an employee talks to me about what I need, they are quick but they don’t rush through the process. They have always been thorough. When I’ve come in to repair a tire leak, they have not charged for this service. At my last visit to repair a leak, they also recommended that my tires should be rotated. The repair and rotation were completed at no charge.
It’s a good idea to drop off your car and come back later if you can, but if you have to wait I’ve found that the waiting area is comfortable.
I hope I will not need their services again soon but when the time comes, I will not hesitate to go back to Discount Tire.

It was an auspicious beginning to what promised to be an awesome weekend. It was early on a sunny Thursday afternoon, and we were on the road, on time, and fully loaded to participate in a BBQ cook off down on Tiki Island. Then the bottom fell out, literally; along with the sides and top of one of our trailer tires. So there we sat on the left side of 288 with the early vestiges of rush hour traffic daring us to try to merge with a 2000 lb. trailer and one tire with no tread whatsoever. Ballsy.
Our initial hope was that the not-​too-​distant (completely indoor) Outdoor World at Beltway 8 would provide the fix we needed. Not so much. Though effort was made, it would not crack my top million places to fix anything requiring more than a bong made out of an apple. In fact, I’d bring a couple apples just to be safe. So we limped on at the break neck speed of 15mph to the closest Discount Tire that appeared to have the tires we needed (no way in hell we’re fixing just one at this point).
Let me preface this with the fact that I have used DT’s all over the state and have had pretty stellar experiences. This store beat them all.
1. The tires were half the price of what we would have paid at Bass Pro.
2. They fixed the fender that had been folded like a taco over on to itself for nothing.
3. They fixed it faster than I could eat half of my Subway and I was ravenous.
Sergio’s the manager, as disclosed by his picture on the wall, and he gets mad props. He continually checked on the small line in the lobby, acknowledging our presence and thanking us for our patience. He also seemed to be working his ass off, and leading out in front in the garage. Synopsis: they got us back on track quickly, professionally, and at a fair price. Sergio, you run a tight ship and it was much appreciated.
