To be fair, I only go for takeout, so I can’t speak to the service beyond the front. It’s always been fine. The mary’s special pizza is my go to item. It’s pizza perfection. Plenty of mushrooms and meat, just the way I like it. Consistently good stuff.

Food is always hit or misswhether you eat it there or have it delivered. The new one on the east side is so bad we call Washington st ! The granddaughter said her spaghetti was fair. Meatball sandwich was very soggy. Pesto breadsticks ok.

Went in to try their GF pizza(I am gluten intolerant and get sick when I accidentally eat gluten). I thought it was pretty good — perhaps a touch overcooked /burnt on the edges, but nothing I couldn’t deal with. One major complaint — the supposedly 8 inch personal pizza was definitely NOT8 inches across — try 6. Even better? I feel fine. Not the best GF pizza I’ve ever had, but I’d happily eat it again if that means I can have a non-frozen pizza that doesn’t make me sick! Service was slow to start; once our server realized we needed help, she was plenty attentive.

Oh my gosh — I have never given anything less than 3 stars. I’m half thinking I won’t even post this, but oh my gosh we had like the worst experience. See just typing this out makes me feel like a whiner, but seriously really really bad. We went there for a Soccer Season ending celebration with 9 little soccer players and the parents. We had a room to ourselves: So Far so good. But we weren’t able to order for over 30 minutes and they had one poor unfortunate server trying to help us all(She was awesome. The Best. I over-tipped she was so cool) but she was ALONE. No one was helping her — and they ran out of silverware and cups, kids were getting their food one at a time — kids would watch some kids eat and be waiting for theirs. It got a little hectic in the room sort of Lord of the Flies-ish as the parents started to getting less and less patient. And believe me they were soooo patient. Our Server was running food back and forth, taking orders, poring drinks, literally washing more forks, because as I said they ran out, and every time she’d race in, someone would ask her for something else, like salad dressing, or a soda that may have been forgotten or those sought after forks! Finally one of the moms asked the manager if our poor server could get some help — the manger gave the mom, what I guess you would call a slightly disinterested Stink Eye and said«Nope». Which by the way was the turning point for any of the parents who were still holding out that this evening would be OK. That one manager could have helped or just been, I don’t know a manager who deals with the public and let us know it was her station and the rest of the crew had to get their tables and he appreciated our patience and business. But instead that single Stink Eye and the«Nope» like he could really care less, set everyone off. Anyway, we all left with a headache and a shot nervous system — families poring out the door, swearing never to return. This isn’t my first Soccer Season Ending Pizza Celebration, not by a long shot. We’ve had them at Round Table and Pinky’s to name a few. And I can’t believe this was Mary’s first, as long as they’ve been around, but man what a bad bad experience. Hey the Pizza was good though. Seriously. In fact the following week the family went to Mary’s Pizza Shack, but the one on North McDowell instead. Now their service was crazy good. I mean the exact opposite experience of this one on E. Washington. I’ve like told friends how good the service was at Mary’s on North McDowell. In fact I should probably write a review for that location.

Come-on Mary’s, be the best Italian restaurant you can be. Up your standards please!!! Not many Italian restaurants to choose from. Well, not this one either! DONOTORDER their pizzas! OMG! Horrible! The only dinner food there that is good is their spaghetti and meatballs. This is coming from a Chef that has been cooking since 16 and cooks food from scratch, especially pasta sauce and meatballs. If you go for that dish, you’ll have a great meal. Salads are so/so. Service ISNOTGOOD, very slow and forgetful! They need training!

Giving 2 stars because our waiter was very good. The rest of our experience not so good. My judgement about the Manager is that he should not be sitting with friends at a table at the front of the resturaunt with his feet up and leaning so far that he was practically laying on the table top. Totally unprofessional. The food was lousy. The salad was made of the remnants of iceberg lettuce — the hard part you throw away. So much of lettuce was inedible but mom ate around it. The chicken sandwich my mom ordered was slightly pink in spots so it was not fully cooked. She ate around it. I asked for a hamburger — medium — no part of the burger was medium it was rare with grilled on both sides but fully rare in the middle. I ate it it was gummy. We mentioned the chicken sandwich and they decided to charge for the lousy salad and not the sandwich. To avoid staying any longer we paid and left with no intentions of ever returning. What has happened to this location? It used to be really really good.

This used to be a great, reliable, consistent Mary’s location. Very disappointed for the last time. Too many burnt or under sized pizzas. Salads are so over priced when the quality suffers significantly these days. Pasta is so over cooked and mushy. No more regular Friday take out or delivery for us. Not worth the the high prices anymore, sorry to say.

Dang! We had a wonderful lunch today! Our terrific, very pregnant waitress was flawless, very sweet, friendly and got everything exactly right. Extra napkins, check! Water with ice and lemon, check! Our Mary’s salad was loaded with fresh lettuce, tomato, bean salad, red onion, salami, etc. all on a lovely chilled plate. We both had Italian spicy sausage with penne. Red sauce, sausage, penne all fresh, delicious, cooked perfectly! The restaurant is roomy, clean as a whistle and tables are not jammed together. Best Italian restaurant in Petaluma. My new go-to place! Thank you!

I tried the pizza at the marin county fair & loved it. Thin crust, lots of pepperoni. That’s how I like it. Last night, they were the only ones open(my new fav… Rafi’s closed at 9mp and Marys is open till 10) I got a pie and unfortunately the crust was not thin and the pepperoni portion was skimpy. I would only go back if they offered me a free pie to try again. Too bad, because I eat pizza several times per week and they have lots of locations. But the consistency may be the issue, since the pizza they serve each year at the marin fair is always great & now I moved close to the stores, so I was excited to try it.

Service was the worst. We were pretty much ignored for the duration of our meal. Took us 15 minutes of standing at the front for someone to even seat us, then almost 20 minutes to have someone take our drink order(we ordered our food then too because why not), then the server delivered our drinks and food and disappeared again for 20 minutes. We had to flag him down for refills and to get dessert. The food was great, we were happy with that but the service was awful. I’m a very good tipper but I couldn’t bring myself to tip this guy, I feel awful about it but the service just did not warrant it at all. I wish I could have tipped the cooks though because the food was great.

Love this place but delivery is always so disappointing. Salad was brown and hot and pizza was cold and undercooked. If you want to eat here, I suggest going in…

Better of the marys. East side has all new people who clearly don’t know what they’re doing. For good marys food in Petaluma stick to the original shack

Our family has been going to Mary’s for years, and I can honestly say we have never had a bad experience. It is one of our favorite go-to restaurants and is almost like home to us. We love the vintage interior design with family appeal, which was updated a couple of years ago. The service has always been good, only occasionally takes longer if they are really busy. We get take out orders and they have always been ready on time. The one time they made an error, they quickly corrected it and gave us a complimentary dish. The salads are our favorite, along with the pasta dishes and breadsticks.

Had a pizza and other sides delivered to my home. Worse pizza ever! The«caramelized» onions where more like the outside skin of the onion, hardly any sausage, the tomatoes where just awful! The only good thing was the salad. Sadly, I will never order from them again.

I got the worst pizza delivered from Mary’s. First off we ordered a large and it was almost $ 50!!! And it was tiny. Two hungry people could eat it all. Then the pizza dough was raw! Like raw raw falling apart raw. We were missing two toppings and the caramelized onions were nothing more than poorly chopped and quickly satueed in a dirty pan. I will never order from Mary’s again which is sad because I remember it was good when I was a kid.

It was decent. The pizza is always good, but this time i got the meatballs and they were surprisingly dry. Service was slow. I’d go back, love the pepperoni pizza.

I really wanted to give this place a 4, potentially a 5(as my childhood self loved coming here!!). This was definetly the fun spot in petaluma for elementry/high school sport appreciation events, something that i hold close to heart! I was in town recently and it just didnt hit the mark. Was it good? Sure! The dough was kind of chewy and the breadsticks were not good enough(Round Table beats them there!). However, the pepperoni cannot be beat! It’s always a long wait for delivery and when dining in, so i wasnt surprised, please plan on this. In fact, i prefer to wait a bit if its fresh! Overall, not sure what to say– is there better pizza out there, especially for the price? Yes! However, i will still have a soft spot for marys pizza.

We got Mary’s delivered and it was pretty good but not as great as I remembered. I grew up going here for sports awards and family dinners. The wait was longer than we were told which happens but if you are paying these prices you expect more. We wanted a XL and they didn’t have that? You have all the goods but not on the menu? Decent pizza but I think they could do better.

6:42PM on a Wednesday(per my call log), ordered a lg & a bambino well done for delivery… I live less than a mile from the store… was told 45−1hr for a delivery(in hindsight I should’ve picked up, or ordered elsewhere) dude just walked up at 8:05PM After a call(where the rep reminded us that we called 3 minutes later than my phone said) we got told 5 to 10… so this pie better be better than the service… because Mary’s Petaluma is lacking in good customer service! Yeah, the pie is lukewarm … I mean I kinda knew it would be after an hour and twenty… right! Boo Mary’s Ok…my girlfriend couldn’t take it… she called them. Ended up on the phone with Dylan, he handled his business… offered an apology, not an excuse, said he’d send new pies(which we politely declined as it was nearing 8:30, and despite the sad state of our soggy, brackish pie. we were hungry as hell)…so he offered to send us a voucher for the same amount of pizza we ordered! Dylan, the pizza wasn’t nearly as good as you were! You are a credit to your restaurant, and I will get takeaway next time! Thanks for flipping this frown upside down.
