Once again out and about on a random place to eat. Decided to take a drive in the convertible from Santa Rosa to Petaluma and was seeking out some of the best burger places. I found Traxx and my friend and I ordered a black and blue Burger and the Western both were cooked exceptionally perfect too big to eat the whole thing and the fries were some of the best I can find in town super delicious great service a real positive friendly little joint highly recommend the burgers for sure and the fries!!!

I had a buffalo chicken salad and it was fantastic! Love the décor too. I’ll be coming back here whenever I drive thru Petaluma from now on.

I went here once to pick up dinner just because people raved about their burgers. I was not impressed whatsoever. Although the portions are huge, the burger didn’t seem like fresh ground beef. It was just OK. I doubt I’d go back. I’m going to Mike’s at the Crossroads instead.

A few of my guys and I stopped in after work tonight. This place blows me away. Rowdy is the most awesome bartender ever so funny and entertaining. He has a few specialty cocktails which taste amazing. The food is wonderful Gary takes such pride in his dishes. The burgers are mouth watering. Best pub food ive ever had. #1 spot to stop in Petaluma.

Fell in love with the place but the Ruben Is bar none the best I’ve had in my 66 years. The chef Gary is very pleasant and knowledgeable and will sit and talk food with you. The bartender Valene, is great as well. I’m coming back no doubt about it.

Traxx is a little cold in the winter and doesnt open up the kitchen on Sun or Mon. Good burger or grilled chicken sando, try the more exotic menu items at your own risk. All that said, its a down home, come as you are, great authentic bar with some strong food and TV’s.

We have been here twice. Very friendly bartenders, and awesome food. The chef is wonderful — his soups are homemade and a large bowl is perfect for dinner. He seems to truly care about what he is serving. Good mix of pub food(hello tatertots!) with healthy options, too. So happy we tried it, we will become regulars!

I’ve checked in twice but I’ve probably been here 20+ times since moving back to P-town. I love this place. Love love love it. 1) Rowdy is the best bartender and food server here. He’s fun, friendly, and takes care of his customers. Gary the chef is amazing. Some of the best pub food I’ve ever had. Their tatertots are something to write home about. I brought my Scottish friend here when they visited for the Tots(and the warm hospitality of Rowdy) The burgers are amazing, large and although some of them are a bit strange(peanut butter on a burger??) the chicken bahn-mi with the homemade marinated veggies is a staple in my diet… but the BEST things? The mac and cheese(cheesy goodness) the brussel sprouts(bacon heaven) and I kid not, the ghostpepper grilled cheese, which is hands down the best thing I’ve eaten in a long time(order it all Ghostpepper cheese, if you dare, I think that’s the best way to eat it) Portions are big big big, the steaks fall off your plate — and the drinks are perfectly made, the bourbon selection large, happy hour reasonable. If you are a local, this needs to be a regular spot for a quick meal, brunch, or a fun night out.

THE perfect Moscow Mule. Outdoor seating(but also a smoking patio, so be forewarned if you don’t like smelling cigs when you’re eating). Friendly, always accommodating staff. Awesome menu… I’m vegetarian, but my bf noticed that you can get bacon on basically every single dish. I love this place and have never had a bad meal or weak drink here.

Super slow service today.BUT. they did give us free fries, sodas and each of the four of us a token for a free dink at the bar. Food was decent. It was a cool local spot. Ended up talking to a lot of interesting people in the bar while we a waited. Waitresses were super nice and accommodating. I would give them another shot if I had the chance.

My wife and I finally got to try some of the fare at Traxx Bar & Grill today and I have to say that we were very pleased! She had the Buffalo Chicken Salad while I had the Cajun Burger. She loved the salad(plenty of quality chicken in it) and my burger was(as Tony The Tiger might have said) Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat! But as good as the food was the service was equally impressive. I didn’t ask his name but the bartender/server was very accommodating and friendly and the cook came out to let us know what was in the Buffalo sauce(because my wife is a pre-Diabetic) and he was every bit as pleasant and friendly as the bartender was. It was a wonderful meal and we’ll be going back! By the way, they use real local Angus beef in their hamburgers. That is some quality beef, I must say!

Traxx serves up a serious burger. A serious steak sandwich. And a spicy Bloody Mary that will leave you gasping — and that’s a compliment. Our server was super friendly and helpful. The BLAT was yummy. The drinks are strong and cold. Kids are welcomed, not glared at. A dive-y atmosphere in the best way.

We were hedging our bets for the Unilocal event to make sure we had enough to eat to ensure the wines we were going to ingest would not just go straight to our heads. Also great excuse to try out a new place in the North Bay where we don’t explore often as it’s so far away! Boy you guys have some hidden gems here and Traxx is one of them. Traxx looks like one of those dive bars, but with more of a family feel… does that even make sense?! Well first off you enter and you’re in the bar. There are a few long tables and the bar of course. There is a dining room but seems to not open until 11:30/11:45am the Sunday we visited. No worries you can still order the food in the bar. The bartender was sweet and very very attentive. The décor was lovely and kitchy and all kinds of fun. There are three large tvs to view your sports and or anything else I would assume is popular that day. There is one bathroom each for men and women but it’s hard to find since it’s in unassuming spots. Just look for the Beaver St. sign on the wall and you’ll find the women’s bathroom and the men’s is near the entrance. Since we had a Groupon, we ordered at least $ 20 worth of food which we shamefully at all of it. So what did we devour? ~ Peanut Butter Burger with Kennebec fries and homemade pickles ~ Let me tell you… if they served this with a side of jelly each time, I think they’d have some more folks loving this burger. Unless you really love peanut butter, this burger becomes really rich and dense. The burger cooked well. The buns were grilled/toasted to perfection cause each bite had a crunch to it with the bun being still soft. The bacon was crispy. Now luckily enough we had asked for some jelly cause I topped it and man… the heavens parted and the angels sang. Now Traxx make a peanut better jelly burger or at least offer some jelly cause you’ll see folks putting it on top of their burgers. The Kennebec fries were really good. I liked the crispness of it and I can see why these fries are known to be the best potato to make into fries. The pickles were quite tart but I like my pickles in any way! ~ Steak & Eggs ~ Lucky we had choices of brunch items and how can you turn down steak, eggs, and TATERTOTS! I love fried potatoes in various forms and tater tots are one of them. We ordered it medium rare and it did come out medium rare. Only downside, no flavor. Had to douse it in blue cheese dressing which omg had chunks of blue cheese. The tater tots were soooo good! SUPER fried and crispy and gosh… that’s my type of tater tot. The slices of bread were typical and wish it wasn’t prebuttered as it was just too much butter for my taste. My eggs were ordered over medium but no one ever gets over medium right. It came out as over easy. I would just skip this and just get the tater tots. The only downside was that we waited for our food for quite some time almost 20 min? But the rest of the experience was great. I definitely recommend stopping by for a great burger. If I do come back, perhaps I will try their drinks cause they do have a whiskey flights!

another dive bar in petaluma with really good food! we were in the mood for burgers, used our handy dandy Unilocal search bar and were not disappointed. Atmosphere is divey, with lots of old school signs and sports on all the TVs. We came around 9pm on a Friday night and it was dead. We were 1 of 3 couples there and the other 2 were obviously regulars. The bar is a whiskey bar with close to 100 whiskey options; some cheap & some close to $ 100 per shot! My husband had a draft beer and I had a margarita. Both okay. The bartender, who mentioned he had been there for over 7 years, was nice, welcoming and knowledgeable. For food, we tried two burgers. The peanut butter burger and the black and blue burger. Although the peanut butter burger sounds odd… it was SOGOOD!!! Cheddar, bacon and peanut butter on a perfectly cooked burger. Try it!

Okay, why this place isn’t the #1 go-to in Petaluma literally is baffling to me. I found them through a combination of Unilocal and their Groupon deal, and I was a little nervous about coming here since a place that boasts burgers AND whiskey already sets a pretty darn high bar for me. This place blew me away. For realz. Okay, so let’s break it down… FOOD(in rank order of awesome): 1) Tater tots — made of fried heaven. 2) Peanut Butter Burger — sounds gross, tastes delicious if you love peanut butter 3) Mac ‘n cheese — I’m super picky, but I ate all of it, so C is for cookie and that’s good enough for me! 4) Housemade pickles — good, but not super unique, I could pass on these next time DRINK: So, we started off with a whiskey flight, but my hubby had noticed that they had some really unique and hard to find whiskey on the menu so we decided to try something else. We had asked our waitress if there was anything extra special they had and she said she was going to grab someone for us to talk to. Low and behold, we ended up chatting with Chris, the owner, who is SUPER awesome. We then proceeded to drink the night away with him tasting all kinds of incredibly unique whiskeys that he had. Literally the COOLEST experience I have had at a place that does whiskey. In summary, you are crazy if you don’t come here. It is awesome, and if you get a chance chat with the owner since he is full of cool stories and is very knowledgable about whiskey.

Whiskey and burger bar! Split the barbecue burger. Totally delicious. We even said we were going to split, and they split the entire order, fries and all, onto 2 plates for us. Staff was super knowledgeable about whiskeys. Fella told them what he liked, and they were able to recommend a couple things. Would definitely come back again!

Hearing such glowing reviews about this place, we came on a Saturday night expecting a great meal… oh I wish that was the case. The food was excellent. My Rueben sandwich was very, very tasty. The fries that came with were good. Other meals were excellent. That being said, we waited almost an hour for our meals. I could tell they were shorthanded, if that be an excuse. Then no bill, and clearly since we were on our second hour it was time to pay. I had to muscle my way up to the bar to get a tab, and I think the owner just forgot we were there. It was karaōke night, and he was preoccupied with taking care of that clientele, not us. The upshot is, leave the bar to the Gen X and Y and leave the mature diners our of the equation. I doubt I will return, but now I know what to expect. In summary, food 4 stars, service 2 stars, ambiance 3 stars, and value 4 stars, so make the composite a strong 3. BTW the sign in their parking lot said something like, «If you park your big truck here you will be shot on sight». I hope they were kidding.

Damn fine burger and excellent, friendly service. I came here because these are the best burgers in the area, according to Unilocal. I had the BBQBURGER with Cheddar, bacon and onion rings with just the right amount of BBQ sauce. This may be my favorite burger with onion rings; it’s marvelous. The bacon is sweet and crunchy and the onion rings, crispy. Perfect example of an onion ring burger that keeps it’s form the entire time you’re eating. Excellent. *Pro Tip: I’d suggest ordering a side of fries so you can sacrifice a handful to put under your juicy burger when you set it down. Beer on tap is, for the most part, above average. Lagunitas IPA is my go to but they have Great White, Steel Head and others. No need to have dozens of beers on tap when that which you do have covers the bases. I will be back, guaranteed.
