Austin Cell and Tablet Repair

Not particularly pleased with the outcome. My wife took her cell phone there to be repaired. The phone was not operational at the time they took it in. When she brought it home the phone turned on, but would not charge. This was the same as my wife experienced at the store before she left. The staff informed her that a new battery would solve the problem, however, when my wife got home the phone displayed the same error. When I called the store and talked to the individual who repaired the phone, she intimated that the blame should go on my wife for not letting her diagnose all issues with the phone. The problem we have, simply put, is if you accept to repair a customer device that you will proceed with appropriate diagnostic and repair. If the initial diagnostic was not sufficient to repair the device, then inform the customer of what additional parts and labor are required and the time frame necessary to do it. In this case, my wife walked out the door with a phone that is not entirely functional and really cannot be used. The end product needs to be verified for 100% functionality (assuming all necessary repairs are disclosed and made) before being returned to the customer. We have now spent over $ 100 dollars to repair the phone and it is still not working. My experience in Austin is that most individuals are too forgiving with incomplete service and that many businesses in this city are taking advantage of that.

Walked in to a friendly attitude and were helpful and knowledgeable would recommend to a friend and will be back if I need any screen repairs or just a quick questions… Well priced and done quick

For quick service and a screen repair they’re definitely a good choice to go to for. I needed my phone screen repaired and they have done in about a hour. Good customer service as well.

I guess if you are looking to replace the screen of an iphone or the flagship phone of samsung and htc you are probably fine with this bussiness. But anything else…

I need an estimate for my insurance. I let them know what was wrong and they quickly assessed the issue and provided me with an itemized cost. Great customer service. I’ll be back in the future for sure.

I had the same experience as Amanda M. but mine was worse, unfortunately. I dropped off a tablet for my child (same reason actually. .. to get the charging port fixed) and was told I’d get a callback within a week. After a few weeks, I got concerned and called them. They told me they had to order a part from New York and would give me a call back in a week with the status. Still no callback. Called them AGAIN (at this point, the tablet had been there for about a month) and received an apology from the manager about it taking so long for the part to come in. Of course, he says he’ll give me a call on the status in about a week and no callback. During the third phone call, they told me the part had arrived but the tablet needed to be charged in order for them to diagnose the problem. That was bizarre to me that they had it for two months, now had the part but STILL didn’t know what was wrong with it. Then, they tried to tell me I needed to leave it with them for 24 more hours to let it charge. Or maybe just plug it up until it gets enough juice to turn on? Anyways, I gave them their 24 hours and guess what? Surprise, surprise. .. it turns out that they had another tablet just like mine but didn’t know which one belonged to who. The store is very unorganized and, as Amanda M. mentioned, the employees were preoccupied so I wasn’t surprised by the error. When I asked how the tablets got mixed up, the female employee deflected and accused me of lying about dropping it off 2 months ago. This is when I began speaking to the manager, who was very rude and attempted to accuse of the same thing. As I had explained to her, I still had the yellow receipt they had given me when I dropped the tablet off as proof for how long it had been there. He said they usually call and leave messages with customers on Sunday but there were no voice mails on my cell phone. Not only that, they aren’t even open on Sundays and I highly doubt they’re going to go the extra mile to call customers on their off day if they can’t even return a phone call on a regular day. And if that was the case, why didn’t call back? My husband called to speak to the manager and they were was even more rude to him, using swear words and accusing him of lying as well. He told them not to doing anything to the tablet, figure out which one was mine and we would pick it up that afternoon. Of course, it wasn’t ready when I got there. Took them about ten minutes to find it. In addition, it was long-​haired guy at the counter who was also rude and condescending, questioning whether or not I really called up there to check on the status of the repair. I told him I could provide a cell phone bill to show the outgoing calls I MADE to check on my tablet and the ONE incoming call they made to me after I called them. I will never, EVER take another device here and I definitely would not recommend this place to anybody!!!

Awesome service and great prices. Saved my but a few times. Fixed the screen on my iPhone 4. Bought a lg g2 that they refurbished. Only had 1 small issue which they took care of very quickly. Thanks again guys! I’ll be back.

Took a kids tablet to get the charging port fixed. Went back A WEEK later and they hadn’t touched it yet. Wouldn’t have been as bad if people were actually working when we picked it up-​but nope… face booking and reading books! Took it down the street and they fixed it in an hour. I will not be going back or recommending their services to anyone I know. I would say based on the other reviews they only care about on the spot cell phone repair…

I needed help repairing a phone and couldn’t find anyone with the parts to replace it. Austin Cell said they could order them in for me, but they were honest and gave me some options of other ways that I could get it done cheaper (i.e. mailing the phone in to the manufacturer). I ended up taking their advice and mailed it in, so I can’t comment on their repair work, but I did want to say thanks for their honesty. They saved me at least $ 60. If I ever need anything in the future I will definitely give them a call.

Job well done! Dropped my phone off with a cracked and broken screen (two separate incidents), was promised pickup in an hour. Returned at the appointed time and the phone was ready and waiting. This phone had previously had some repair work done at another facility, and something done there caused the rear facing camera to stop working. I checked the camera to see if it worked, by some miracle since I hadn’t mentioned that issue when I dropped it off, and it worked! Whether by nature of their repair or by going the extra mile, my phone is fully functional now!
Just took a call, and my face hit buttons during the call, so I’ll mess around with the light sensor a little more and go back if need be. I’m still rating 5 stars!
One more thing– Unilocal shows Sunday hours, but they are actually closed Sundays.

These people are so helpful and nice! Very accommodating with quality work! I was blown away with the service I received. I keep a grip of their cards in my purse for anyone who has a need for cell phone repair.

FAIL on iPhone Repair. The digitizer on replacement screen never worked correctly and when I finally just replaced it myself there was one screw and a clip missing as well as a loose screw bouncing around. Don’t waste your time. They overcharge, use low grade parts and apparently can’t reassemble it correctly.

Dropped my iPhone 4s down 3 flights of stairs and needless to say my screen was busted. I called around to a few shops to get some price points, this place was by far the most reasonable. The staff was friendly and I was in and out in about an hour. Thanks guys for all your help!

Dropped my phone down an elevator shaft on Memorial Day… nothing. Phone falls off a toilet paper dispenser at a bar last night… screen is shattered! FML! Woke up hung over and Unilocaled my way to Austin Cell. In and out in 20 minutes, perfect screen, new case, and good service! I have no intention of breaking my screen again on anything, but I know where to go if I do.

I’ve had my screen replaced twice (whoops) as well as my battery. Everything has worked perfectly! Walked in every time and left with my phone back in working order :) this is my go to shop.

They fixed my android phone and it works better now than it did when it was new. And, they helped me with my 2^nd phone and my tablet, too. I will go there again when I need help.

Came in with a broken screen. Left in 20 minutes with my phone good as new. Kind of expensive but I didn’t think it would be cheap. They had no problem answering any random questions I had. Nice guys hope I don’t have to come back.

Well, I was looking for the right place to fix my iphone and I just found it. A friend of mine, Tim Stewart, just left a great review about this place and he was right!
Great people and great service! Ten minutes and I left the place with a big smile!!!

Y’all go see Phil at Austin Cell & Tablet. I had an iPhone4 that died after a rainstorm. Trying to dry it out myself and have it come to life was a lesson in futility and people were wondering what the hell I was doing with a phone in a cup of rice. It didn’t work. Phil was able to open it up and have it fixed in a jiffy for an absolutely reasonable cost (considering the price of a iPhone5 or GSIII!).
Now I have a cracked screen that I will need to get to him.
Oh, and bring him some Pizza Rolls from Austin Pizza just around the corner ;) This way he’ll know who sent ya there!
