KJ Washer and Dryer Repair

I have a two year old LG refrigerator which quit cooling last week. I called LG to get the name of an authorized repair facility, and they gave me three names, one of which has a «D» rating from BBB, the other couldn’t get to me, and KJ responded quickly and came out that day, a Sunday. The two men who showed up are a father-​son team, very nice, very polite, immediately found a leak in the sealed system, with freon leaking. They said that normally they do not work on sealed systems but in this case would take care of it within two business days. They did show up yesterday, slightly later than agreed, due to delays in another job.
Within 15 minutes they told me that after all they couldn’t fix the problem and that I should find an independent appliance repair company to do it. The suggestion was to check Craigslist. I was charged $ 30 for the first service call, nothing for the second.
So I got on Unilocal this morning and found an independent repair guy, «ACCESS SERVICE COMPANY» (use them!). The proprietor Bo, came out and immediately agreed with KJ’s diagnosis, and explained in detail what would be entailed in the repair and approximately how much it would cost, but then practically demanded I call LG, as at least the parts of the sealed system are still under warranty… a fact KJ, the authorized repair guys, did not tell me. I called LG and immediately asked for a supervisor, bypassing the young lady who was going to ask me if the refrigerator was running («you better go catch it!). No, she wasn’t really going to tell me to catch it.
Upshot: LG is covering both the parts, per the warranty, AND the labor, as a goodwill gesture due to the hassle I’ve had thus far. I’m out about $ 90 for the two service calls from KJ and Access, but it’s better than the hundreds of dollars I’d have spent on repair, even under the parts warranty.
So LG and Access handled things the way one would want. KJ was very polite, but I do not yet need to go catch my refrigerator. You decide who to use.

I not only got same day service for my dryer repair, I got service within an hour and a half. They also had the parts on their vehicle so it got repaired within 20 minutes. Amazing.

I was extremely impressed with their service, professionalism and price. They came out during a weekend, and were very fast! I simply cannot say enough positive things about them! Simply the best.

My dad moved in and we swapped our old dryer out for his since it was newer and more energy efficient.
We quickly discovered that his was a two prong dryer when the outlet is a three prong.
So I sent my trusty husband up to the local supply store and we got a three prong swap out for dad’s dryer.
Upon rewiring the dryer, my husband saw a flash of light come from my dads dryer when he turned it on. Oh NO not good!
We realized that we were going to be left without a dryer unless we did something quick, so my dad looked up a repair service local to our town. These guys names came up on his search.
I called today early Saturday morning and they scheduled me in for an appointment two hours after I called!
They were scheduled to be here at 12, they were here five minutes early and finished the job five minutes ago! Now that is what I call service… All for 100 bucks!!!
I never thought I’d be so excited to have my dryer working again, clean clothes kiddos!

Great service! Our dryer suddenly stopped working and when I called KJ for assistance, they were available the next day. The workers arrived on time and were flexible with me needing them to come after work. Both gentlemen were very friendly and cleaned out the inside of our dryer before rewiring it. It now works like new! Highly recommend.

I was satisfied and I will continue to use KJ for any future needs.
Scheduling the repair with my tricky schedule was no trouble for them, and the window they gave for arrival was within one hour. They arrived within that window.
They repaired my washer quickly and checked in with me about cost at every step. They also solicited feedback from me at the end to ensure I was happy with the experience, and I was.
Their website could use some improvement in order to communicate the following: basically any repair they make is guaranteed for 90 days, they charge $ 20 for the service call/​estimate. There is a $ 4 charge for credit transactions. They also let me know they do other forms of repair: a/​c & heat, stoves, fridges, and other handyman type work (not plumbing).
Beyond that, my washer repair needed a part replaced, and parts + labor came to $ 104 charged on credit. This was about half of what Sears quoted me over the phone when I described my issue.
These folks are reasonably priced, perform satisfactory work, and were very pleasant (both the techs and the reception admins). There was a bit of a language barrier, but communication was clear if a bit of extra patience and slowing down was needed. Local business, Keep Austin Weird, y’all!

They fixed a leak in our LG washer on short notice. Very nice, affordable, and effective.

Techs showed up as promised but English was not their native language and communication was poor. When I asked them to stop and bill me for the service call ($ 20 per phone call) they tried to chage me $ 40. We established the correct amount was $ 20 and I paid. They could not provide receipt but did follow-​up with scaned receipt later. Not very pleased with results but language barrier is the main issue.
Update: Owner of the company called to try to resolve issue with poor service. I do feel they care about their customers. The communication issue is the main drawback for the techs in the field. I raised their rating to 2 stars but would still seek another company for future service.

KJ repair did a great work had a problem with my washer and it was fixed in less than an hour! will call them again if I have any other problems.

I really couldn’t say enough good things about these guys. My dryer broke so I was stuck with a load of wet clothes and no desire to deal with the laundromat. I figured I would hang the clothes to dry, call a repairman and hopefully have a working dryer in a couple of days. No need, they came out the same evening I called and had it fixed up in about an hour for a bargain price! I slept soundly in my dryer fluffed PJ’s confident that the repair will last :) Absolutely the best choice for washer/​dryer repair in the Austin area!
