Specialties
At Lucille’s Catering we specialize in traditional Soul food, and a mixture of Soul food and Tex-Mex that we lovingly call Soul-Mex. We make our traditional dishes in the way that clients expect for fried chicken and collard greens to taste. However, with our Soul-Mex menu, you may see collard greens mixed with black beans to make a Soul-Mex dip. Or, you might taste raspberry chipotle in our pot roast for a little extra kick. Our mantra «What if?» pushes us to continually experiment with tried and true recipes to develop new and unique combinations. In addition to delicious food, we also offer our clients impeccable service. We understand how important special occasions are, and we strive to give our clients our best every step of the way– from designing a unique menu to marrying the table settings, and the décor into a unified theme. We absolutely love what we do. Our slogan, «Cooking with Love», is more than just a saying, it transports you back to a time of good home cooking. We guarantee it!
History
Established in 2013.
Lucille’s Catering started as an idea in an MBA program. However, the love of cooking started when Executive Chef, Mertis Sells, received her very first Suzy Bake oven as a little girl. Her love for cooking and great food continued to grow over the years. Today, that love has culminated into Lucille’s Catering. She, and her husband and business partner, Ricky Sells, have created something unique and special that they want to share with those who love «the good olé days» of family, and great food.

Business Owner
Executive Chef, Mertis Lucille Sells, has been an exceptional cook for 30 plus years. Although she did not attend culinary school, her unique ability to transform ordinary dishes into mouth-watering meals has served her well. She loves what she does, and you will experience that love in every bite. She has amassed an extensive collection of recipes from which she draws inspiration for the dishes that she prepares. She received an MBA from the University of Phoenix in 2013. The completion of a Masters’ program helped shaped the career path that she has currently chosen. Her middle name, Lucille, conjures up images of southern hospitality, and family gathered around the table for delicious home-cooked meals. That name was given to her at birth to honor her great grandmother. It is only fitting that such a legacy should continue as Lucille’s Catering.
