Albert Einstein Medical Center

I scheduled an appointment for April 23^rd at 4:20 p.m., with Einstein Medical’s Internal Medicine Department. The staff at Einstein are extremely unprofessional.
I encountered a hospital that is not being properly taken care of, is staffed with very rude and unhelpful employees, and is a place where I do not trust that my care will be given the upmost respect.
As this was my first time at Einstein, I had trouble locating the floor and office my appointment was at. There was no one staffed at the information desk in the Klein building to give me directions. So, I went into an office on the first floor to find out where I could find the office that my appointment was in.
After patiently waiting I asked the receptionist if she knew where I could find the primary care physicians and the floor and suite number they worked out of as I had an appointment with the Internal Medicine Office. She very rudely told me, before I could really finish speaking, that she didn’t know where the «primary doctors» were.
I then asked if there was any way she could look that information up and she informed me with a very irritated tone that there wasn’t and that I would have to go ask someone at the information desk outside. I told her that there was no one stationed at the information desk. She shrugged and said I would have to walk to the Main Hospital’s information desk.
I thanked her and left the office. I found this interaction evidence of a clear lack of professionalism on the part of the receptionist and the office she worked out of. I was almost made late for my appointment, but finally found the right office for the Internal Medicine Department. The office was not clearly labeled and had a generic «Specialist» plaque outside the door. There was no obvious indication to me that this office was the Internal Medicine Office.
I arrived at 3:45 p.m. and again waited patiently at the check-​in desk. When it was my turn to check-​in, I told the receptionist that I had an appointment for 4:20 p.m. I was told very shortly, «Uh-​Uh, you’re going to have to fill out this clipboard. There are other people ahead of you.» I still don’t understand why I was being accused of trying to «cut the line.» I was merely checking in. I did not deserve to be treated with such shortness and so rudely.
At this point I realized that another hospital would better suit my primary care needs and I cancelled my appointment and left the hospital.
I followed my visit up with a complaint to my insurance company.

I have not heard great reviews about this hospital, however, I am speaking on only the parking aspect and pray that their medical staff is not the same.
Parking is horrible! The whole configuration of the garage itself is horrible, but they do not take CC, which you do not find out till you drive down, and they do not know if they offer patient/​visitor validation or not!!!
A relative of mine just had surgery on Monday. Upon leaving out I asked for parking to be validated; the security guard at the main desk next to I take the the Patient care rep, clearly stated that they do not validate parking. I restated that my relative was currently in operation room and he again replied that they do not do validation here… that maybe the booth attendant could help.
As you leave, on top inside, clearly states patient validation available! As I pulled up I relayed to her with the security guard stated and she said that was incorrect they do validation and to next time go to the first floor security stand. I told her that is where I was referring to. She looked shocked and apologized. But I had to pay $ 6.00 for parking that would have been FREE!!! and validated!
Hopefully never again.
You can’t even go in through the front entrance because they put two big trash cans in front so you can’t use them… plus the hospital does not look that crisp/​clean.

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU DO NOT WANT A LIVING NIGHTMARE! I went to Einstein Medical Center for a mammogram Sept. 2013. Since then they have REPEATEDLY screwed up the billing. Originally, I was told my insurance denied the procedure and I owed them $ 1,000+. I personally called ins. and received an EOB — claim was paid as of Nov. They sent my bill to Collections anyway without notifying me. I had to contact ins. again, get duplicate of EOB, fax it to collections, where the matter was SUPPOSEDLY cleared up in April 2014. Then I get a NEW EOB in July — apparently Einstein got greedy and billed them again. Last week I receive a call from Einstein’s billing dept. claiming that I’ve ignored their bills and phone calls and I better pay up or they are sending me to collections (AGAIN)! My ins. co. is also fed up with this B.S. and has faxed them a letter stating I am NOT LIABLE for any further expenses! THIS BETTER BE THE END OF IT, EINSTEIN!

I won’t give much info about the hospital since I’m only here for a training. The outside of the hospital is a little rough but the area that I was in (learning center) is pretty clean. Some of the equipment that we used in this training was pretty cool. Food at the cafeteria is not recommended. Pretty blah, but the two food trucks out side have ok food.

Overall, can’t complain about care received, only complained about care received by one nurse, during Moms weeklong stay!!! Doctors, skilled technicians and nurses, all very helpful, informative, compassionate & caring. The ER staff present the night Mom cane in, kudos to them all, they didn’t let up off my Mom til she was stable enough for them to move on, and for that I am forever greatful!!! Dr. Amanda Kelly was awesome, in a sorrowful time for my fam. She was there for us every step of the way and guided us through this whole sad ordeal. She was very professional, & was able to give the family updates and info so that everyone could understand precisely what was going on. R.I.Heaven Mom, Gone but will never be forgotten!!!
I hated the parking there, rather expensive for families with a family member in icu. There should be a discount for immediate family visiting at least.

The only reason I keep coming to this place is because my mom’s PCP keeps sending her to specialist who are affilated with the AEM system.
Me personally do not like this hospital because the people who work there including nurses, office staff, doctors, janitoral staff, etc don’t seem happy to be there and let’s not even go there with the patients.
Why is the hospital so old? Jesus… The only thing I found new at this place was ummmm… yeah I’ll get back to you on that one!
I’ve delivered a baby 16 weeks premature and honestly I’ve let this be known to everyone EVEN IF I was standing at AEM labor & delivery I want to be sent elsewhere. Please & Thank You…
This place gets 2 stars simply due to their translator services! Kudos to them for the various languages translated!
