I actually came here a while back to get (surprise surprise) some Warby sunglasses.
I didn’t need too much help but the sales people were always close by for when I did have questions. I tried on a ton of frames and ended up choosing the «Madison» sunglasses in whiskey tortoise. The glasses were wide for my face so they adjusted them a few times in the shop. Ended up coming out to $ 102 w/​tax.
I was with two other people when I went (who were not looking for sunglasses), but because there are so many random things to look at they weren’t bored waiting for me, which was nice. They sell whiskey and hair/​mustache products, backpacks, and a few other things. I think it’s well worth checking out just for fun if you’re in the area.

Really cool place with an awesome curated selection. More than just a clothing shop, this place has something in mind for everything trendy. Drinks, clothes, oils, you name it. It’s pricey, but probably worth it to find something new that you couldn’t just search for. Also, an awesome selection of sunglasses and glasses.

I was so excited to find out that there was a store in Philly that sold Warby Parker glasses! This store is super hipster and has a wall dedicated to WP glasses. I visited on a weekend and it was pretty crowded, making it a little difficult to try on multiple pairs of glasses and look in the mirror for as long as someone as indecisive as me needs to. It would be nice if the glasses were spread out more, but regardless, it’s awesome to be able to try them on in a store instead of getting them in the mail.
The customer service here was fine, but I didn’t feel like the employee I dealt with was extremely helpful. I asked a few questions about my lens prescription and didn’t really get too much information! I also had to go back after I received my glasses to get them adjusted and felt the same way.
Even with all the minor grievances, the store is convenient and the glasses are super trendy, cute, and affordable!

I went to get optical measurements and check out additional Warby Parker frames. The staff were helpful and fast.

I went there today because I needed glasses — my first pair — and I heard about their great selection of Warby Parkers. Well, the selection was indeed great, but the service was even better. I didn’t catch the name of the girl that helped me — short brown hair and cute round glasses — but she was such a sweetheart. I explained that I had never bought glasses before and wanted to try a lot on. She helped me find stuff and gave me HONEST opinions (including telling me that one pair was way too wide for my face, which I really appreciated). She made checkout easy, explained everything, and was just super friendly. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. And the price was right, too — I ordered both regular and sunglasses, both prescription, for a total of $ 270. Let’s just say, I left very happy and can’t wait for my glasses to arrive!

i’ve been meaning to get new glasses for a while and i wanted a pair of warby parker’s this time around. this is the only shop in philadelphia that is an authorized retailer and carries warby parker glasses for customers to try on in-​person. as much as i appreciate the mail try-​on option, i’d rather take the time to try on a bunch of different glasses rather than select 5 at a time and wait for them to come in the mail.
the two gentlemen working at the store were professional and very helpful. make sure to bring your prescription with you and you can choose for the glasses to be mailed directly to you or arrange for pick-​up at the store.

I feel like 99% of the people who came to this store came to try on the Warby Parker glasses. And because it was Dec 29^th and people’s FSA was running out there were good number of people here. The staff seemed really well prepared for this– there were at least four people working there, ready to help and give their opinion. They had memorized all the Warby Parker styles and made the whole process quick and rather seamless. In addition, I received emails from WP updating me on my order etc. Overall, great experience.
I took a quick look through the rest of the store and while it seemed somewhat interesting, most of the stuff seemed like it was for display rather than for purchasing. And I didn’t really see other people shopping for the clothing etc there which is too bad because they seemed to have some interesting (and expensive) things.

We LOVE this shop. From the Warby Parker glasses to the Jack Rudy Cocktail company items (which beautifully compliment AITA’s artisanal liquors) everything here has been intelligently vetted for quality and appeal. Indeed, we are lusting after a jar of Root Cherries to add to our bar.
The only (tiny) quibble is that one cannot purchase AITA’s liquors here due to Pennsylvania’s eccentric and non-​user friendly liquor control laws. This impediment was particularly confounding because we previously had purchased Drum Rum from La Colombe’s flagship location. Perhaps it is the presence of the still that makes the difference? The good news is that AITA’s liquors are now generally available at State Stores (you will save yourself agita, if you check the LCB’s website for inventory and then call the store to confirm that your desired liquor is in stock).
In any case, the service here is impeccable and the sales associates actually seem to be pleased to answer questions.

Cool place in the old city. Went to get some Warby Parker glasses. This place is a bit different from the traditional WP stores, as they are like an authorized retailer. There were only two young ladies who were handling the WP sales and they BOTH gave their attention to a couple purchasing glasses. Customer service was great for that couple but me and my girlfriend had to wait 10 – 15 mins, trying to subtly get their attention to purchase some frames. There wasn’t any effort to acknowledge that we were next to be helped or that we even existed. They even did a mini alcohol tasting for the couple and engaged in small talk about the distillery and the whiskey (i think it’s whiskey). All while we were waiting.
Our sale took LESS THAN 5 mins to conclude.
Pros: Great place, lots of stuff beyond the glasses.
Cons: Poor customer service for some customers.apparently. May go back.

I love this place! I went in for the first time a couple of weeks ago to check out the selection of Warby Parker glasses & to just take a gander at what all they had in their boutique. Really cool and unique products, the vintage women’s clothing also isn’t at a bad price point compared to some of the other vintage stores I’ve been to in Philly.
Just went back yesterday to pick out a new pair of glasses. The sales person that helped me was great! I didn’t have anyone there with me to give me a second opinion, and he was so helpful! Gave me tons of glasses to try on and I ended up purchasing the June frames. I will definitely be back to purchase another pair of frames in the foreseeable future!

Beautiful stuff, really friendly and helpful staff and one of the only places you can try on the entire Warby Parker range. If you’re in the area, definitely pay a visit

The customer service is without flaw! Products are cool, different, and yet somehow unpretentious.
I went there for their Warby Parker glasses. Was shown a ton of options, and passed along my prescription. Done deal $ 295.00 for the frames with progressive lenses.
ALL MY FAULT… BIG MISTAKE by me. Having never had glasses, no less progressive lenses… I got exactly what I ordered, by I became frustrated and got headaches from these lenses. I called Art in the Age just to get some feedback. I was asked to visit just so we could make sure that I got what I liked. I visited the store a second time, was greeted happily and they went to work FOR ME!
…end result? I got a new pair of glasses that are purely readers! I got the coolest pair of sunglasses I’ve had in years… and wait… I got a refund to my card! As the readers and the sunglasses were $ 95.00 a pair I actually was taken out of an expensive/​frustrating experience I totally did to my self and ended up with more for less!
If you need glasses, and or gifts, or even just a really cool shirt… Art in the Age is the place!

Great service, affordable prices and an amazing selection of eyewear to choose from! It’s so convenient; I ordered 2 pairs of glasses in store and they follow up with your optometrist so you don’t have to deal with the hassle.

Great shop to try on Warby Parkers (I think it’s the only place in Philly that carries WPs), they also have a sweet jacket selection.
The prices are a bit steep but worth it, much love to the buyer.
I got the sweetest Woolrich winter jacket here and they helped me order my pair of glasses.

Art in the Age has a nice wall of WP glasses (see pictures), and I took my sweet time trying on each frame. Trying on many glasses also reminded me of how wide my face is. :(None of the employees rushed me though I may have been annoying. I was able to get two stylish frames at $ 95 each, which includes the lenses and the shipping!
They take quick measurements at the register and shoot you a confirmation email from WP. You can submit your prescription or your optometrist’s number there, and WP will ship your glasses in 7 – 10 days. Super convenient.
They also have some cute bookbags (I’m an old student) and clothes, but I was there for the Warby’s.

I was surprised when I went on Warby Parker’s website and found out that Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction in Old City had them in store.
The shop is as hip as it gets and the service was immediate and prompt. After 30 minutes of trying on nearly every set of sunglasses I went with the Griffin model in matte black. Thank you to the gentleman who assisted in the tough tie breaking decision between black and tortoise shell (err total first world problems…).
I’m pretty obsessed with my new shades and I’m quite happy with the quality. Upon opening the box I joked with my roommate if they still gave glasses to someone in need. I then dug through the tissue papers in the box included my soft and hard case (you can never have enough eyeglass cases) I found a thank you letter and that my purchase had provided a pair of glasses to someone in need which made my day. Not a bad way to feel about my purchase at all.

Locally made casual clothing? Check. Random nick nacks and gifts? Check. Warby Parker location? Check. Art in the Age meets all the criteria for a little hipster paradise; it isn’t so much a store, but a way of life.
The real reason to visit is to try their line of liquors which are some much better than you typical flavored vodkas or whiskies. While Root was their first concoction, they have expanded to have four spirits, including Snap, Rhubarb Tea and Sage. While perhaps a bit strong for the average palette, anyone who geeks out on craft beer or appreciates subtleties of wine can find the characteristics interesting. All four spirits are perfect for cocktails, but are fun to experience on their own, which the staff are more than willing to let you sample, along with great descriptions. The only downside is that you can’t buy bottles there, but just a few blocks away and you’ll be in business. So glad I stopped in to escape from the rain!

I was in dire need of new glasses and wanted to see how I liked Warby Parker frames. Well, Philly just so happens to have a showroom in Old City, so I decided to stop by one evening. I must have spent an hour trying on all of the frames — they all looked great. I finally settled on a pair and headed to the register.
The staff was awesome: they let the folks checking out glasses do their thing without hovering and then were really friendly during the check out process. I learned about their liquors and tried out Root — very tasty!
The liquor samples, the availability of Warby Parker frames, and the amazing customer service guarantee that I’ll be back.

I will not lie, I can rarely afford to shop at this place (everything is awesome but a little out of my reach). I do love coming in here to browse and pick up an occasional gift — and did so even before they started carrying my absolute favorite brand of glasses, Warby Parker.
Yea, this isn’t an eyeglass shop — I dig that. But I’ve never had service this good at Lens Crafters, so perhaps those other places need to take notes!
Not only do they have all the available WP frames (with the exception of the rare collections that you can’t even get with at home try on) but they have people working there who actually KNOW the frames well («Are you wearing the Reece?» «Why, yes. Yes I am!»). These folks can give you great advice on which looks best on you, suggestions based on the shape of your face and the look you are going for and provide the skinny on the ordering process like that’s their only product.
Outstanding work folks. Your staff is a dream.
