Nail Polish Bar & Spa

I know for a fact that I wrote a lengthy review of my unsatisfactory experience and distaste for Nail Polish Bar & Spa several years ago. Somehow, it seems that they had their Unilocal account wiped clean. Unfortunately, they haven’t improved anything about their business so I suspect the poor reviews will flood right back in… such as this one…
Years ago, I had an extremely awkward and expensive mani/​pedi at this salon, which included (but was not limited to) one of the technicians putting my flip flops on another customer’s feet and no-​one realizing it until the woman giving me my pedicure went looking for my shoes.
Another time I went in for just a manicure and was asked what type of manicure I wanted and I said «just a regular manicure». They said «Spa manicure» and I said «whatever the regular one is». It seemed as though they were either confused or trying to trick me into a more expensive manicure package (I highly suspect the latter) because this conversation went back and forth several times, and then they gave me an upgraded manicure anyway, and tried to charge me for it. We had a heated interaction when it was time to pay. After that experience I decided I was never returning.
Recently, about four years since my last experience at Nail Polish, I found myself in need of a quick manicure in-​between some appointments and they were the only salon close by without a wait, so I decided I would have to succumb to the over-​priced and ignorant business once more. This time around I requested a gel manicure. Once again they tried to trick me into a premium manicure, but I specified that I just wanted the basic. The woman that painted my nails painted them slower than anyone has ever painted them in my life. She started with my right pointer finger and then told me to put my hand under the uv light, and then moved to my left pointer finger and had me put my left hand under the uv light. She then painted my middle finger nail and repeated this process of painting one finger on each hand throughout all 4 (yes, 4) coats of gel polish that she applied. This may be a bit cynical, but I think she may have been trying to give me skin cancer with the amount of time I had my hands under those lights. At the end she told me it was $ 60 and they were cash only! Ummm, you couldn’t have said that in the beginning? I only had $ 56 in my wallet, so I told her I had to go across the street to WAWA to get more money. I was extremely tempted to not return but I did. I gave her the $ 60, without a tip and vowed to never return.
What a disgraceful business.

I was pretty disappointed in this place after it was highly recommended. I came on a sunday. I didn’t even get my nails done, I was sitting at the bar waiting for 35 minute and gave up with no nails done.
I went back to try it a second time because my friends love the Gel Manicure they do here. This time they honored my appointment time and did a great job on my french manicure. Besides them accidentally spraying water on my feet being a little rough with the manicure I will say I will go back because I consider the fabulous job they did with my nails.

Soooo ignorant here. went in for refill they dont do acrylic so i said ok may i please use bathroom she said customers only. i offered to pay still said no and was extremely rude. not a place id ever refer someone i no to go.

$ 60.00 for a gel manicure??? Wasn’t born yesterday… had them WITH a pedi for 33.00 in far NE keep your attitude lady, you won’t last long.
