HORRIBLE… Went here last night and the service was awful. I got an overpriced gel manicure for $ 35 plus a tip. They told me that it’s CASH ONLY half way through my service. The shape is terrible, the ends are all uneven. She never soaked my nails or touched my cuticles, except when she got nail polish on them and roughly scratched it off with her own nails. She asked if she hurt me and I replied, «yes» and she did not apologize at all. They were very rude and very pushy about wanting me to get a pedicure or another service.
Also, I never got a massage or any lotion for my $ 35 manicure. I have been getting manicures for years and that has never been left out.
Cons: overpriced, rude, bad service, pushy, mean

Do NOT go here. I spent $ 50…CASH ONLY… for a mani pedi on Wednesday and now my finger is green puffy and infected. I have to pay for a dr visit to get rid of the infection! I have been getting mani/​pedi for 20 years and have never had a problem! Go someplace else

I walked in was told CASH ONLY. Went to get cash. Then I was told to sit in a chair. Waited ½ hour for a tech to be available only for her to take someone else. I left! Don’t expect to be treated nicely for the exorbitant prices they charge!

I went there for a bachelorette party (none of us ever having been there) and woman told us that they would have a bottle of champagne for us as well as some snacks but could also bring our own. There was no champagne or snacks waiting for us and they were rushing us the whole time. They told us there would be a private room, no private room to speak of. Only two of us could get done at a time and then they tried to charge us more since we were a group. The woman who I think was the owner was so rude, not to mention all the others working there were just a rude, one woman kept bumping into me and not saying excuse me. I was scheduled to get a manicure and the woman tried to talk me into getting a manicure/​pedicure which I didn’t need. She then went on to tell me that I «REALLY» needed a manicure.
I will NEVER go back! It was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a «spa». They were waxing people out in the open in the front of the salon too.
They don’t massage your hands while getting a manicure and rush the whole thing. The nail polish is a selection of old colors. DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME!

I am so shocked by all the bad reviews! I didn’t even read them until my second trip to this nail salon. I was so happy with their service that i wanted to write up a review and that’s when I saw so many unhappy lady’s. So weird!
My husband bought me a really fancy bottle of nail polish by Christian Louboutin so of course I wanted A professional manicure and pedicure. The first time I went I received a excellent pedi and I can tell you that I am very, very particular about my nails! I have terrible cuticles and I always feel like they just pretend to trim my cuticles, and I’m also very strict in how they shape my nails.
So I was happy that this lady loved cutting cuticles, she was also friendly with my ingrown’s. The message was so relaxing and they shaped my nails exactly the way I like. For once in my life I did not have to Grab the file out of her hand so that I can shape my own nails. Please keep in mind that I normally do my own nails because I’m so particular and I’m actually pretty dame good at it. So when it comes to me dishing out 50 bucks for a mani and pedi it better be great. Guess what??? It’s was a great experience. I just went there again for my second time and it was at 6:00 pm Friday night and I thought they would send me away because «it’s Friday night» but I’m guessing, because of all the bad reviews it maid it all the better for me because they sat me as soon as I walked in. They didn’t rush me and massaged my feet legs, hands and arms. Once done they massaged my back while my nails were drying. I paid 50.00 for a deluxe mani & pedi and ya, that’s a lot of money, but I don’t mind paying for great service. Again I’m so surprised by all the bad reviews if I had of read them before I went to this place I would of missed out on a fabulous experience. They really did get down on my toes and the lotion massage was just fab. At the end of my pedicure she warped hot towels on my legs and had 2 hot stones that she used to massage my calf mussels with. This was beyond and words can’t express how happy I am with their service.

My friends and I decided to get our nails done on a whim and therefore, did not check any reviews before choosing to come to this nail polish bar. HUGE MISTAKE
The prices were not listed openly. I discovered later that they have a menu of prices kept in a drawer, which they only reluctantly reveal to customers after a bit of disputing. They actually refused to do so at some point. I blame myself for not asking for the price menu BEFORE having the services.
Below is a list of all of the things we each got done and what we were charged
Friend A– Mani & Pedi $ 50
Friend B– Gel nails $ 50
Me– Regular Nail polish & Pedi $ 50
After leaving the salon, I checked their website and other reviews which confirmed that their prices were outrageous and inconsistent. The next day, I went back to the salon only to address the price inconsistencies with the women at the nail salon. They attempted to justify their prices with excuses and false reasoning. They refused to refund the difference to us! It was only after we threatened to have the police involved that they decided to refund my friend back for her gel nails that actually popped all off the very next day! I however, did not receive my money back for my $ 50 hand polish and pedicure!
Why in the world would a manicure and pedicure cost the same as a regular nail polish and pedicure? manicures are more expensive than simple polishes! and why would a gel nail cost $ 50? And why is everything we got done $ 50?!
Absurd. worst experience. their swindlers and ill never ever come back to this salon.

Friday afternoon walk in, short wait. They cut my nails before soaking which caused at least one fingernail to sail over my right shoulder. This can also cause nails to crack. I asked for square, but she rounded the corners. At least 4 nails were not even & one side was shorter so they were shaped diagonal. The polish lasted 2 days. Finally, the most limited polish selection I’ve ever seen.

I tried to give this place a chance but but after last weekend I will NEVER go back there! At an unreal price of $ 75 (plus tip) for gel mani and pedi the service and what you get is just not good… did I mention is cash only, yea. S&N Bar Spa just opened a few blocks away (at 4^th and South btw) that has AMAZING service and charges $ 50 for gel mani and pedi (free glass of wine, free massage, and an entire wall of colors — yea, its amazing). Don’t waste your time at Nail Polish Bar! If I havn’t convinces you yet, here are all the reasons I hate this place:
— It’s small and only 4 people working. They don’t turn away anyone or ask them to wait/​come back in 15 minutes. They instead pile people on top of each other and make all the customers wait instead of just focusing on getting the people they already have there out faster.
— They basically double teamed me and another chick for a gel mani. They had us sitting next to each other and while her hands were soaking she would paint my nails. While my hands were under the UV light she would paint her nails. I didn’t know this other girl! Never in life have I experienced this. Wtf am I paying $ 55 for? So I can have a buddy during my service? No, thank you.
— I sat with my feet soaking for 30 minutes then with my feet drying for 30 minutes before they bothered to start my mani. It took THREE hours for both services because they kept taking people before me and during my services.
— The $ 75 I paid was for the ‘basic’ package — literally cleaning up my nails and paint. No scrubbing, no massage, nothing extra… literally just a soak, nail file and paint.
— They have such a small collection of colors to choose from. Literally, tiny selection compared to other salons.
— They only accept cash and make you walk across the st to the bank, she told me ‘don’t forget tip money’ umm, here’s a tip lady…
— On top of all this the salon looks like a mess and so do the woman who work there. Every time I’ve been there they girl that does gels where’s a see through tank top and a neon bra. They also eat right next to where you get your nails done. Just over all, bad.
In conclusion, other reviews will back me up, don’t waste your time and money here.

Worst manicure… ever. I live in NY and have never paid $ 18 for paint change (which is what they call a manicure here). AND, they have you pay before they start so I even tipped 20% on top of the $ 18, thinking this was going to be a really pampering experience for the price.
This experience was a 10 minute «manicure»; no lotion, no massage, no nothing. Literally basic rough cuticle cut and quick paint.
I kept waiting for some epic experience or massage or something, ANYTHING to merit an $ 18 manicure, But nothing. I am shocked and disgusted at how this place is in business. Stay far away from this place. Go to Cozy Nail around the corner if you can, though the waits are so long probably bc everyone is avoiding THIS place.
Also it’s far stretched to call this place a «Nail Bar». They have a bottle of Bacardi sitting next to the polishes.
Baffled by how this place is in business. They also charge $ 55 for gels… What???

Every once in a while, I try to treat myself to a splurge pedicure. You know, spa-​like where they really massage your legs and meticulously make you feel like a million bucks… especially when you expect to pay a good amount of money?
So I showed up half an hour before closing one day and they turned me away. That’s fine. Another time, my boyfriend and I showed up and asked for two pedicures. She gave us looks of judgement and disgust and said it would be an hour or more wait. Okay. We left.
I don’t know why I have been so persistent about this place, but I really wanted to experience this trendy and modern looking place and I showed up by myself one early Sunday morning on a whim. Right then, the lady who I assume is the owner asks with this piercing stare, «Can I help you?» and when I respond with «Pedicure, please.» She smirks and asks, «Ever been here before?» I said No and she goes on with, «You Vietnamese?» … WHAT?!
This is when I noticed there was no prices listed. From my understanding, that is illegal as outlined in the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s website. Perhaps they found a loophole with one outside sign posting a price, but when I asked mid-​pedicure, the young girl asked that same older lady something who nodded and turned back to me and said «Pedicure is $ 35.» My foot was in the water for all of three minutes but she massaged my legs fairly well and cleaned them up pretty well. I didn’t stay and dry so I didn’t receive that massage while you dry but that’s not a fair complaint since that was my choice. Once they noticed I’m a big tipper they got real friendly as I said my goodbyes and left.
I’m not sure why, but I came back about a month later. I excused it because the last time, I sort of rushed her to get me out since I received a phone call where they needed me and noticed one lady who was mid-​pedicure before I started was still getting massaged while I was getting ready to leave so I thought this time, if I didn’t rush out, I would receive the «normal» treatment so I decided to come back and try them again to make a fair judgment.
When I sat down in the chair, I told the lady to take her time with the prepping she was doing for the day (she was making the wet towels to be warmed up in the towel warmer) and I don’t mind soaking but I like my water really hot, which it wasn’t, and she didn’t really drain out the lukewarm water to add more hot water… At this point, the young girl who remembered me from the last time giggled and said, «You have some time today!» and I laughed, said yes. I think the younger girl may have told her I was a big tipper because the lady sort of smiled and then turned back to me with a cheshire cat grin and proceeded to stick her hand in the water and ask if it was hot enough. Of course I said no and she proceeded to correct it. I still don’t think I got to soak as much as I should have, but my feet aren’t that bad since I scrub them almost every day anyway. Pedicure was good, that massage while you dry was pretty good since I was oddly tense on one side.
I haven’t experienced terrible work there, but I can tell they can be deceptive and manipulative to people who allow them to be… I’m not sure if they will be my first choice whenever I decide to splurge on a pedicure, but I’m not 100% positive that I wrote them off my radar just yet.

Worst salon ever. A friend and I came in and paid $ 118 for the worst manicure and pedicure service ever!!!
The nail lady that did my friend’s nails kept messing up and left the acetone too long on her nails (even after she complained of burning).
Even gave her attitude when she complained and redid her nails 4x, leaving nailpolish on her fingers and toes! They did know how to appropriately apply shellac nailpolish.
My nails started bubbling and all they did was add on another layer… which made it bubble even worse!!!
Not to mention, they had an advertised price outside and once inside, the price doubled!!!
Save your money! Don’t go there!

I was pretty surprised to read some of the negative reviews on here about Nail Polish, since I have been several times and had a very positive experience every time.
First of all, this place is NOT cash only. They DO accept credit card, and they even let you add a tip on the card (most nail places won’t). The interior is really cute, unlike some of the more ragged-​looking Asian nail places in the neighborhood. I didn’t find the prices to be outrageous at all. They advertise a $ 25 manicure/​pedicure which is pretty standard. They also have a full menu with prices that they will hand you when you go in. I love the fact that they offer the «mini» manicure and pedicure options (basically the same as the full except they don’t trim cuticles and it is cheaper). I hate having my cuticles trimmed so I always go with this option.
I have had the same girl both times I have gone and she is very friendly and sweet and remembers me. The service is speedy and good quality. I got a gel manicure the last time I went and was very happy with how it lasted.
Yes, they do have strange products like boxes of slimming teas on display but there is no pressure to buy them. If anything, I thought they were mostly for decoration. Try reading the English translation on the box of Plum tea by the drying station for a giggle. Anyway, the place has a nice flat screen TV and magazines and the pedicure chairs do have massage, so I don’t know what everyone is complaining about. I think this would be fun place to come for a girls day out, because it looks like they have alcoholic beverages on tap should you desire.
I like that it’s in the neighborhood and seems cleaner than some of the other places I’ve been to, and like I said, the prices seem comparable to other nail places nearby. Overall, I have been happy with my service there and will go back.
P. S. — The last time I was there, I heard a girl complaining because they don’t offer acrylic nails. Not sure about that, but the gel manicure is even better in my opinion than acrylic nails. Oh, and they stayed open past closing to cater to several clients who came in at the last minute, which is really nice.

I really am trying not to scream right now. I just posted a picture of my gel manicure 2 days later. All of them have popped off like lee press on nails!!! I called and asked for the manager the girl said «she’s not here» and hung up. I immediately tried to call back and got a fax noise, then an answering machine, and finally on the 4^th call they picked up. She gave me the same line.
«I said its rude to hang up without letting the customer speak. If the manager is not there then who is in charge». She kept saying my English not good you have to call back. I asked «well is there someone else there to speak to because the day I was there everyone seemed to speak English». She said «no no you have to call back» I asked when, she said she didn’t know and hung up again.
HOW IS THIS PLACE IN BUSINESS??? I will be filing a BBB complaint!!! I do not want anyone else to get scammed out of money!

I needed nice nails for an extended period of time, and I wanted some pampering. I happened to be near Nail Polish and decided to give it a try. First, they kind of badger you with their weird prices. Nail salons need to knock this stuff off ASAP! They do a sort of bait and switch with their pricing, show a great deal on the window or outside, then a huge list of add-​ons when you get inside. I’m sorry, but how the hell can you try to pass off a manicure and pedicure without cuticle trimming, grooming, etc. Washing my hands and feet and painting my nails is something I can do at home, or it’s called a polish change, not a manicure or pedicure. I opted for the spa pedi and «regular» gel manicure, and somehow spent $ 75 plus tip? What?!? The pedicure was subpar and for paying extra I expected a really amazing massage, nope.
The owner charged me an extra $ 10 to cut and groom my cuticle area. I also found it very strange that my gel mani was done nail by nail. It did last almost three weeks, so I’ll give them that, but the whole time I was in the salon I was tense. The atmosphere is weird and you’re surrounded by weight loss teas and other random stuff they’re trying to sell. The pedi station is tight and small and the employees just seem so annoyed to be there. Avoid Nail Polish and save yourself a ton of money and stress.

This place is a disgrace, I am pretty angry at myself for giving them any of my money. If I could give 0 stars I would! I have lived in the neighborhood for 3.5 years and never went to this salon until now because I read it was overpriced. Recently, I gave Nail Polish a try by process of elimination. I used to go to 4^th Street Nails but had a bad experience with them; and I refuse to go to Cozy Nails because they have ruined my life (to make a long story short). Someone gave me a $ 5 gift certificate they couldn’t use for Nail Polish so I figured I would get a mani/​pedi there before being in my friend’s wedding.
About a month ago I sat down in the pedicure chair, left my flip-​flops beside the chair and watched TV for 10 – 15 minutes waiting for someone to free up to start my pedi. When the woman came over to start I was glancing around the salon and noticed that the woman that had been sitting next to me had the same flip flops as me (strange), and hers looked too small for her feet… (really strange?). I looked down at the floor and realized that the woman used MY flip flops for another woman!!! I immediately said to the woman that was about to start my pedi, «Where are my shoes!?» She giggled, looked at the woman wearing them and said «sorryyyy». Um, sorry? Ok… At that point she didn’t get up to tell the woman or anything, she continued to work on my pedi. It wasn’t until she was ready to paint my toes that she went over to the other woman (almost ready to leave), to get my flops from her. She sprayed my flops with their mysterious magic potion and gave them a little scrub in the tub before putting them on my feet. At that point I was disgusted but continued on because I was under time constraints. When I finally got to the manicure it also took a significant amount of time. When it was time to pay, I was charged $ 68, I was pretty distracted from everything that had transpired with my flops and I forgot to use the gift certificate until she had already ran my card. She told me it was too late and I could use it next time. I looked at her like she was crazy, and she said she couldn’t reverse the charge on the card. I’m sure that was a lie. I had to dry my nails 4 times and they were still tacky when I left the salon!!! I was there for over 2 hours, probably one of the longest mani/​pedi experiences yet.
Since I still had this gift certificate in my wallet, I figured I would go back one more time for the cheapest service they offered (a mani?) whenever I felt like I needed to freshen up my nails. Last night I went back for my simple, plain mani. I walked in, asked for a manicure, I received the typical response «sign in and pick color and sit here», I followed my instructions and sat down, this time with the gift certificate ready. When it was time to pay (before painting), I pulled out the gift certificate and my credit card as she said «15 dollar», and she then asked if I wanted to put the tip on the card or in cash, I said on the card, $ 3. She then proceeded to scribble a bunch of different numbers down on her receipt pad, including 18, 15, 13, 13, 13, 16, 18. Her confusion was confusing me, and I tried to help her with her addition. I thought the mani was $ 15 — $ 5 GC + $ 3 = $ 13. So I said $ 18 total and this (pointing to the $ 5 GC). She said ok $ 18 and ran my card for $ 18! I then questioned her and said, I thought it was $ 15? She says «manicure is $ 18 and you had this». I told her I wanted the $ 2 back then, because she should have ran my card for $ 16. She then said «I give you $ 2 on here» pointing to the gift certificate. I said «NO I don’t want it on there». She spoke to the younger girl there in another language and threw $ 2 at my from her tip drawer. Wow. She then painted my nails, super thick and told me to dry 3 times. Once again, when I left my nails were still tacky. As soon as I got home I could see that some of them had bubbled because the polish was so thick! Today, they are all dinged up because they stayed tacky for so long. I find this pretty ironic considering the picture that they have on their website under Services, Pedicure showing the «post pedi depression». I gave them a call today and asked «how much is a manicure?» the girl told me «$ 12 and up», I asked for an explanation of the different manicures and she told me that $ 12 is standard, $ 15 and then there is a «spa manicure» for $ 18. I am really not sure what they considered «spa» about my manicure yesterday but I would have happily had the $ 12 version, except I wasn’t asked! Why wasn’t I asked? because they are trying to rip everyone off! And I am pretty sure that when she saw my gift certificate she increased my price from $ 15 to $ 18 to make up for it! This place is such a scam!!! I will never go back and I hope everyone takes my advice and stays away!!! DON’T EVER GO HERE!!!

The salon just opened in Spring, 2012 and they got new equipment. The space is small and the design is colorful. The price is reasonably standard. You pay $ 19 for mani and $ 21 for pedi. Nice Cambodian ladies and very good in their job.

If your looking for punishment then this is your place. They staff is boorish and manhandling fingers and toes are the house speciality. For $ 50 my paws were roughly filed and slapped in and out of tepid water, polished and sent on my way. I am not sure why I even ventured here, maybe it was the heat; but I did and all I lost was money and time. If in the area again I would certainly check out the farmers market.

This place is a rip!
When I first arrived, they promised me a complimentary drink until they found out I was going to get the cheapest manicure (which wasn’t even cheap but standard of 20 $). This did not include anything but a polish and nail file. They barely even soaked my feet.
I mentioned about the free drink and they pretended they didn’t undertsand me. They can keep their dang Arbor Mist. The one older woman at the counter just stared at me and asked me where I lived. The place is snobby and I would never ever walk in there again! My pedicure only lasted about a week as well.
Don’t know how this place stays in business with all the crappy reviews.

At Nail Polish, $ 18 (plus tip) will get you a run-​of-​the-​mill manicure, a beating while your nails dry (which they refer to as a massage), and wide-​eyed comments and titters about your height, if you are a statuesque woman like myself. I’m 5’10″ before heels and have no issues with my tall-​ness, but I felt kind of like a circus freak with the number of questions I had to field in front of an audience while selecting my polish.
I actually had to walk outside and catch a breath of fresh air while waiting for my friend’s mani to finish up. This was probably the least relaxing manicure experience of my life.
Also, what is up with the mini-​convenience store going on along the wall? Pregnancy tests and sample-​sized shampoos were among the items available for purchase.
