This was my favorite place last year. But the year the service is horrible. They screwed my order up three times in the last week. And this man was in front of me they screwed his order up and they gave him a hard time when he complained about his order. I am done with that place.

Good product but way too expensive. Kid cones are at least $ 3.25. A regular from Mr. Softee is $ 2. I bought an ice cream cake there and it was more than $ 50.

Delicious! My kids and I were driving by and decide to try it. We love homemade ice cream and water ice. It took 15 minutes to find a parking spot. My son ordered a kid’s sundae, my daughter wanted the the cherry water ice, and I had the cherry vanilla ice cream. No complaint! The water ice was juicy and filled with bits of cherry. The kid’s sundae was amazing. You get one topping, ice cream, whip cream and a cherry on top. It was definitely worth it. I can’t imagine how big a normal size would be. My one scoop of cherry vanilla ice cream filled the whole bowl. It was sweet and very creamy. I truly believe that we will go back to try other flavors on the menu, which is very extensive. The kids are looking forward to trying the custard too! There is definitely a flavor for everyone. Just an FYI: there are four — 2 person tables inside, so be prepared to take your treats to go.

My friend kept raving about this place I decided to check it out. And tbh it’s like a typical ice cream/water place. I got the mango water ice which was pretty good and my bf got the vanilla and chocolate swirl and he loved it. The lines however are a little ridiculous and the service could’ve been a little bit more friendly. I wouldn’t go here again unless I was next to that area. But It’s not any different then Rita’s water ice or another ice cream place.

Pretty much good! Service is cool, i would definitely come here again. The only thing is at a certain time of night sketchy people seem sprout out of nowhere

Hey, Philly Flavors. Why are you closed right now at 11:38 on a Saturday night when your Unilocal page says you are open? It’s not that difficult to update your Unilocal hours. What gives? I will update this review to more stars if management updates their hours on this page.

It’s Philly Flavors — what’s not to like? Tons of selections… always willing to let you sample… it’s a Fairmount /Francisville mainstay. Just one thing to be aware of – if you want a small, get the kids’ size, because the small is still pretty huge.

Stopped by here after the haunted house tour in the Eastern State Penitentiary just a block away. I was very happy I got to try their water ice! Especially the passion fruit flavor was really delicious. Its bit more finely grained than our usual shaved ices and Slurpee but not so watery that you’re drinking it. If you’re a fan of more icee side of the cold treats I would highly recommend this place. The ice creams portions are large as well so you definitely get your money’s worth. They allow up to 2 – 3 different flavors of the water ice depending on the size you get, I definitely think a medium cup is enough for a single person. I got so much brain freeze while eating it but its so good just couldn’t stop it. Its definitely a grab and go kind of place as there’s only about seating for dozen people or so. But now they expanded to cover two store fronts for more water ice goodness :)

You want brain freeeeeeeeeeeze?! This is the place to get it. If it’s hot outside and you want something to cool you down and you’re a masochist for pain, then this is the place you want to get your water ice. They have a ton of flavors and you can do any combo of flavors, just pick your size. I’d suggest against mixing too many, especially if you’re getting the larger cup because towards the end when it’s mostly melted, it’s gonna be some weird funky abomination(unless you like funky water mix). The sizes are huge so beware of your cup size. Your eyes might be larger than your stomach. There’s very limited seating indoors and even though this location is enclosed and air conditioned inside, you might want to sit outside in the sun or shade because this cup of water ice will give you the chills. Also, this place can get busy. And I mean real busy on a hot, sunny day. Parking: Limited street parking Price: Cheap Wait: Little to none

Philly Flavors is a must when I come to town. They’re open late, which makes them perfect for hot summer nights. The people behind the counter are young, but provide great customer service. They’re always patient, even when the line is long and I have never received the wrong order. Also, they always spell/pronounce my name right, which I find a bit amazing. My favorite is the Slammer, which is soft serve ice cream blended with water ice. I’m cycling through all the water ice flavors and have yet to find one I don’t love. Waffles are made to order but the gluten means I sadly haven’t tried one. My only gripe is that they don’t sell Philly pretzels, they sell the rounder Soft Pretzels brand. But that’s not worth a star. Few tips: there are two locations, side by side. One is usually very crowded, so head next door(further from the corner), where there’s less of a wait. Also, the regular size is huge IMO. If you usually order a small, try the kid’s menu for something more manageable.

The biggest ice cream servings ever ! I bought a kids cone and it was sooo much ice cream lol. Could be a little more affordable especially since there is no authenticity to the taste but overall it’s good spot. Staff is great also.

I used to come here all the time when I lived in Fairmount. Whether it be because it was the only decent ice cream shop in walking distance or we were just craving sweets, it did the trick. I always love coming here. Sometimes the wait is long, but it’s usually worth it. Portions are very generous and not(terribly-lets face it, it’s Fairmount) over priced. Costumer service is just so-so, but I never expect more in the city. I just go for the food and flavors. This is still my favorite ice cream shop in the area and I will continue to go back!

This place customer service is great. The food is perfect. The service is fast. I will always go back here for a good treat. Waffle sandwich with birthday cake ice cream is my favorite. Sinfully good.

Ah Philly Flavors. Gluttony at its finest. A small ice cream with a few toppings is a behemoth of a portion — easily should serve 2 – 3 people. It’s overwhelming! That being said, their variety of flavors, toppings, and combinations make this a place worth checking out. Unfortunately, for me, the actual quality of the ice cream is just, eh. I honestly would prefer a brand new pint of ben and jerry’s or some other decent ice cream pint(note: i’m not an ice cream snob). Nonetheless, worth checking out, and will satisfy every picky person in your group. Note: it gets packed and ordering/receiving gets a bit haphazard late at night; somehow, it ends up working.

In NO way can the ice cream here compete with Bassetts or Franklin Fountain. What wins this place all the customers is the location. It’s basically the only ice cream shop in the Art Museum. Everything else is FroYo that is tucked off away off the main roads. So I think the reason why this place has done so well is because it’s literally like having a water fountain in the desert. I’ve gone here after races, after drinking, on my way home from a rough day, etc. It’s just so nice that it’s close by to home. They’ve got great Sundaes and lots of variety which I love. I’m sucker for choices even though I always get the same thing. I have yet to smile when paying $ 6 for a small ice cream when an entire tub costs that much, but such is the life we live, eh?

Despite being a very short walk away, I can count on one hand how many times I stopped by this summer. My first visit was in celebration. I had just signed my lease and was headed back to my car when I spotted Philly Flavors. Since I can’t ever resist ice cream, I walked in and purchased a gelati. While portion sizes are generous, the flavor part is just so-so, especially for the price-point. More so, there is seemingly always a line and it’s rare that anyone ever looks happy in that general vicinity. All of those factors combined have caused me to avoid the place for the most part. I’ll give them another try next summer and see if my feelings change.

Not surprisingly, the line was almost out the door this past Sunday evening after the Fairmount Arts crawl. I opted for the shorter line which was the storefront to the right. I totally forgot this storefront didn’t have the big menu. Not knowing what I was going to order, I made the switch to the other building with the menu so I could weigh my options while I waited online. It took a few minutes for me to place my order then another few minutes to get my ice cream. I opted for the kid’s sized fat free maple walnut yogurt. Although it was probably just a few minutes, it felt like an eternity before I got my dessert. During the time, I got to thinking how silly it was to have paid almost $ 4 for a kids sized treat and got to wondering why the other storefront didn’t have a large menu that could be viewed while waiting. I was almost frustrated with my choice of stopping at Philly Flavors. The moment I got my yogurt, those negative feelings instantly melted away. The maple walnut was heaven in a cup! I still have no idea how this stuff is fat free but it was so delicious I didn’t even care. My concern about the price of a kid’s yogurt was now moot after seeing what a large portion it actually was. The yogurt really tasted like maple and there were actual pieces of walnut throughout the entire cup. I walked home on cloud nine enjoying my perfect dessert on a gorgeous spring evening. So moral of this update, although the line may be long and the structure might be slightly chaotic, Philly Flavors is totally worth the wait!

I end up here on a fairly regular basis because its the only ice cream option in Fairmount and I love ice cream. It’s not bad, but if I had another option, I would probably never return here again. On warmer evenings, its always packed, especially on the weekends. The service is fine and I like the peanut butter cup hard ice cream that I have had. I am always tempted by the soft serve though, like I was last night. However, it’s really not the best soft serve at all(the chocolate is borderline not good and its much more icy than creamy) and the portions are HUGE. Look at the picture I posted for the«child’s size»!! It was way too much ice cream, but I enjoy that you can get it covered in rainbow sprinkles or chocolate dipped, which is really my favorite thing about this place. I wish there was another ice cream option around here. I am sure it would do extremely well based on the amount of business that this mediocre shop gets!

I love Philly Flavors! My favorite part about this place is the variety of sugar-free flavors of water ice. When a person is diabetic or has blood sugar problems, it helps to have sugar-free water ice and on top of it they have more than one flavor! Most places you’d be lucky just to have one flavor. They also have«sugar-free» ice cream as well, which is truly no sugar added(I hope), but the fact that they have these options is awesome. Sometimes there is a line so I just go in the next store front then I don’t have to wait. The portions are huge, so a kids size or a small is just right. I love the vanilla and chocolate twist pictured below,(sorry that isn’t sugar-free). Also, the owner is a genius because during the winter this place is a coffee shop, so they aren’t wasting space in the winter time.
