Pretty good food, a little empty though. Has potential for a great bar.

WHEN did this place become Lox Stock & Barrel? The Pub n’ Grub signs are still up so I was surprised when I stopped by on Saturday for a pretzel grilled cheese and walked into a different place. I thought they just redecorated until I was given a menu that said Lox Stock & Barrel.

One of the only, if not the only Sports bar in the Fairmount/Art Museum area. Great if you want to hang out with friends, watch a game, and have a few drinks. I’ve had their food a few times, but every time I have been disappointed. I have tried their wraps, burgers, nachos, and chicken kabob. The best thing on the menu is the chicken kabob. For being a sports bar, I expect the«sports bar» food to be better.

I thought Pub’n Grub was really a fun place. It is nice to not be crammed into half a lot in Rittenhouse but actually have some space for pool, pop-a-shot, and corn hole. There are beer towers and lots of TVs. We were there for a party so had egg rolls, grilled cheese, and wings. Nothing special but great food to accompany the beer. I see a lot of reviews on here complaining about this place like they were at Capital Grille. What were you expecting from a place called«Pub’n Grub»! Ha. I would go back for a Saturday/Sunday during football season. Would be able to spend a lot of time there.

One word. Terrible. Service was rock bottom. I think it’s hard to screw up this horribly — goodness! Granted, it was 4th of July which meant packed house with not enough staff, but I still can’t believe how awful the service was. Summarized, abridged recount of why service was bad: — wasn’t seated till ~10 min. of waiting(hostess was nowhere to be seen) — seated at a table where the waitress quickly wiped down the table(but there were food remnants stuck on the table); waitress quickly runs off to attend to other tables — upon being seated, was ignored for ~20 min. YES. 20MINUTES. Raised my hand like I was in grade school trying to get multiple waitresses attention only to either get ignored or hear ‘hold on a sec.’ wtf. Finally, I had to stand up and ask a waitress to take our order. Sad. To her credit, however, she did offer beer on the house and admitted that she genuinely forgot, and wasn’t intentionally ignoring us. Eh… Later on, she went on to say that it’s never this packed which is why she’s sort of … disoriented, out-of-whack, disorganized, unable to cope(my words — not hers, but you get the idea). Oh, btw, though, the food was edible. My advice to you: SKIP. skip and don’t make the trip. ;)

An Applebees by another name is still an Applebees. Lots of TVs, some okay beers, basic, fried American food, slow service, overpriced for what it is.

Our server, Sara/h, was really sweet and just the right amount of attentive. The food was good, and reasonably priced. However I’m confused. Really confused. The place is called Pub ‘n Grub, however they call themselves a bar and ristorante. There is nothing italian about this place. The menus are paper and look like take out menus, yet they have cloth napkins. I think they need to decide which direction they want to go in, because its just complicated at this point. I wouldn’t seek pub ‘n grub out, but I wouldn’t refuse it if the opportunity presented itself to go again.

Good service, clean, has a pool table and lots of TVs for watching sports. Outdoor seating area was nice for lunch in this great spring/summer weather

This place has a nice outdoor area to eat. Inside, they serve awesome hummus. And I’m a big fan of hummus. The menu does have vegetarian options, which is nice. But I was a little let down that there weren’t any vegetarian choices for the lunch specials. Since I would only go here for lunch, I really like to be able to order a lunch special. I asked if I could do a veggie substitution for a few of the specials, but that wasn’t an option. Overall, the serve was good. And if veggie lunch specials are added, I’ll update this review.

We came by on a weeknight and were pleased to find this place to be relatively quiet — judging by the number of large TVs, I’m sure that’s different when exciting athletic events are going on. I was impressed by the variety in the menu and chose the Grilled Pear Salad balanced out in healthiness with a side of House Made Fries. The fresh salad was a generous portion(I took some home) — I was very pleased with both the quantity and the quality, particularly for being at a sports bar. The fries were less exciting — the ones with various toppings might be better, but the regular are nothing impressive.

We really enjoyed the food at Philly Pub ‘n Grub… and the prices were incredible! Based on food alone, I would’ve given this a 3.5 star review, rounded up to 4. However, the service, as others have said, is awful. There was one waitress for the entire restaurant(she said someone else called in sick). There were at least 8 – 10 full tables. We ordered potato skins and wings to start. The wings took a little while to come out, but were delicious. She told us our potato skins were taking a little longer because they had to prep them, which was fine. But before we knew it, our entrees were out, and still no potato skins. I got a burger, which was really good and again, really cheap! My boyfriend got the pretzel grilled cheese, which was interesting… I don’t think either of us would get it again. About halfway through our entrees, she brought out the potato skins. Obviously we didn’t want them at that point, but we had them boxed up to take home. Despite their late arrival, we were still charged for them(which I think shows poor customer service). Will I be back? Definitely — this is a great, cheap place to go if you’re in the mood for bar food. Lots of TVs with every sporting event available showing. But, don’t go when you’re in a rush or super hungry — expect to wait for your food.

I’m a big fan of watching Sunday football here. There are a ton of HDTVs that show all the 1:00 and 4:00NFL games. They have beer towers of one of the light beers(I forget/can’t tell the difference) for $ 20 and pitchers for $ 10. Both times I have been here service has been quick and friendly. I’ve had the nachos and a couple of the grilled cheeses and I would rate it above average bar food. A lot of complaints on here about the grilled cheese but they are only $ 5.50 and come with fries. Other people have said they do not have tomato soup, which they do, but it is more like a bowl of marinara sauce. In case you were hoping for a review of their beef kabobs, I can touch on this also. For reasons not understood to anyone else at our table, one person capped off their meal with this platter. I had a bite of the beef on pita with hummus and tomato salsa that came with the plate. It was tasty, just kind of random. I’ll be back soon and can’t wait to be comfortable enough with the staff to be allowed to drink directly out of the beer tower spout.

Ah Pub and Grub. It’s always something with you, isn’t it? I have held back on writing a review for a looong time because I’m ever hopeful that I will have one completely positive experience. First, the food is good. When it isn’t crowded, you get generous portions of their spuds that come in several good varieties(Spanish and Jersey are my favorite). The grilled cheese sandwiches are good and I also like the different options for those. When the wings come out on time they are tasty but nothing special. The atmosphere is awesome. They have at least 15 – 20HD TVs and plenty of seating indoor and out. When you want to casually watch a game on an off-time, there’s nothing wrong with it as a sports bar. Here’s the kicker. They have been open for over a year and still haven’t figured out how to hire enough people to work the kitchen, bar, and wait tables. When it’s an NFL Sunday, or when there are big groups, you get shit service. I hate to say it, but they can’t call themselves a sports bar and advertise their Direct TV Sunday Ticket if they are crabby about putting on other games. I am not from Philly and need to go to a sports bar to watch my games. Even when I get there early to request a TV, I either have to wait until they get around to it, or(as was the case last time) they changed all the TVs to a game in overtime after the Eagles lost instead of my game on just one TV. My game had just started and I missed a TD. Not cool. I go there all the time and I’m still treated poorly. One time, it took an hour and a half for my wings to come out. And they were cold. Just when they have me hating myself for giving them my business yet another time, they come out with a free shot on the house or an extra plate of food. They know how to apologize but how about having good service from the get-go?

Pretty good. I came here for a late night happy hour that was«won» by a friend of mine. Let’s face it, winning happy hours is the only reason to have business cards anymore. Anyhoo, we got wristbands and we were given a nice drink special. I stuck to the half off domestic drafts portion of the special. The space is large and well, this place is a hotel bar. The staff seemed pleasant enough and handled our large group fairly well. The bartenders were attentive so there was never a long wait for a drink. Pro-tip: The bathroom is not in the bar, it’s like an hour away. You have to leave the bar and go into a hallway, make a few turns and then finally you reach it. They have a pool table(bar size) which was nice. There was an APA event happening so we had to wait on the table. All in all, not a bad spot to host a party. The only food I tried were some pigs in a blanket. They were out and I’m not even sure i was supposed to eat them but I did anyway. So there’s that…

I really wanted to love this place because of the 13 grilled cheese sandwiches on the menu, but I was not impressed. The fillings for the grilled cheeses were not very exciting or unique. I wanted to try the Twist which included a pretzel, but they were out. I ended up going with a plain cheddar because nothing else jumped out at me. This was a decent grilled cheese, but the bread is way too thick, it’s just not necessary. Also, it was $ 5.50 for just that plain sandwich, I think that’s a tad expensive. The rest of my group also got grilled cheese and everyone finished their sandwich, but the consensus was that no one would be rushing back.

I am not a Philly sports fan, so I go to sports bars to watch my out of town teams because I can’t see them on regular TV. This place is the only«sports bar» in the neighborhood, so I’ve been there a bit. They have good cheap beer deals, and mediocre food. It was good for football season, except when an Eagles game is on. Even though they get the NFL package they only put 1 or 2 other games on during Eagles games, which is a waste in my opinion. I went there tonight to watch the NHL Playoffs. I called ahead and asked if they had the NHL channel. The hostess put me on hold and asked a manager, so I felt good when she reassured me that they had the channel. My girlfriend and I walked down there in the crappy weather. Once we got there, the manager tried to put the game on, and it turns out that they don’t actually carry the NHL channel. For a sports bar that claims to have«all the big games» this was quite a disappointing experience. I will look to Cavanaugh’s in the future.

Pub ‘n Grub is a chill addition to the neighborhood. It doesn’t boast craft brews or a killer menu, but it does have about 20 televisions, lots of tables, decent service, and beer towers. Our server was really friendly — even when telling us all they had on tap currently was Coors Light. Food was decent — the fries are yummy especially with cheese. The wings are pretty good too. I think the patio out front will be a sweet addition in the spring & summer.

I went to Pub and Grub the other day to watch the Phillies game and I gotta tell you– I had a blast! Pub and Grub is Bar-Restaurant tucked away in back of the City View apartments. It’s an unlikely spot for a Bar but I think it will be very successful because of the fun factor. The spot is kind of off street, you have to go up some stairs to reach it.(they have wheelchair access at the lobby of the apartment entrance around the corner) But once inside you are warmly greeted and ushered to a table or you can just go to the Bar area. They have lots of TVs strategically located around the restaurant and you can view a the game from any seat without it looking like a flatscreen-dominated sports bar. We sat in a big booth next to the pool table and we felt like we had our own area in the Bar dedicated to us only. We all ordered Beer from a list to long to write about and it was cold and fresh and the server did his most important task-keeping them coming! We all were hungry and the Menu was the usual bar fare without any complicated dishes to bog down you Beer ravaged brains. We tried an array of foods, Burgers, Crab cakes, Pizza’s, Poppers, Fingers and salads, all good and tasty. They have these Beer towers situated around the spot and I still haven’t figured out how you use them. Oh well, we were to engrossed in the Fightin Phils to engaged in that, I guess my next trip to Pub and Grub has a planned activity! OH! did I mention they have 20 kinds of Pizza, 15 kinds of Fries, and 20 different Grilled Cheese Sandwiches? Amazing!

Yay! I’m a fan is right! Someone knew EXACTLY what the Fairmount area of Philadelphia needed — Sports Bar! I walked by this place last sunday on my weekly trip to Whole Foods & noticed a serious game of baggo(cornhole) going on the deck.(Bonus points for tourneys!) I immediately texted my man friend who usually spends every Sunday in the Fall at a local watering hole in our hometown(Delco). This is(and will be) a place where I will be spending my REDOCTOBER at most defintily! We paid this establishment a visit this past friday. My sister moved back to town recently and we planned(and had reservations) to Alma de Cuba for restaurant week. It was early so we decided to head to Pub ‘N Grub for A drink. Many drinks later we canceled our reservations, ordered some wings & delish Cheesesteak grilled sandwiches & took in the Phils game. Great place, service was impeccable, clean & spacious. You will definitely be seeing more of this gal! Welcome to the neighborhood Pub ‘n Grub!
