From the moment i met Pablo, Michele, and Alan the leasing staff My experience at the Claridge has been wonderful–
I can truly call this place my home in every aspect the staff, front desk, maintenance, door people have been truly exemplary–
I love my apartment, spacious and filled with light, perfect location, my neighbors are lovely mix of old, young and in between– it does not get any better!
not to mention the beautiful lounge and fitness center with so many perks–
I have truly found my niche and appreciate this property.

The renovation updates have been completed and it has been a fabulous experience renting at RC. I rented a studio and was satisfied from the moment I stepped in the door renting from Michelle and her staff. The Front Desk staff and Doormen are very friendly. The maintenance older gentleman (forgot his name) works 4−10pm is so prompt, caring and attentive to tenant needs. PABLO with the leasing/​management office… is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL, he deserves a raise!!! The updated facility, gym, lounge and business center as well as the location makes this a no brainer. This building does have a nice mix of seniors and mature students that makes living here a nice experience. I have ALWAYS felt very safe, secure and comfortable living at RC. Moving in and out of the building the staff is VERY accommodating which makes an already stressful experience easier to deal with. Thank you!
I gave 4 stars due to the age of the building and the things that go along w/​living in an older high rise building and… unfortunately many of the tenants allow their pets to ride in the wrong elevator. There is 1 pet only elevator, and this policy isn’t always enforced. I have had several dogs jump on me while in the wrong elevator and their owners didn’t handle this very well… scratches on my legs, jumping on my suits, etc. I’m not a huge fan of the laundry facilities, but at least each floor has a machine available in addition to the main laundry room.

Other than this location this building has nothing to offer! I have lived here for 5 years and I will move at the end of my lease.
I have a studio, and the insulation in this building is terrible. I can hear everything from my neighbors. They have quiet rules after 10 PM, which are never enforced. I have complained multiple times to management and they have done nothing to enforce the quiet time. I am constantly woken up by neighbors after midnight during the week, to loud laughter, tv, music and slamming of doors. Additionally I smell marijuana all of the time and apparently it is a smoke free building. I have also complained about this to management and no notice has been given to the tenants. This building is more like a dorm room in a college than a proper apartment building.
My last complaint is the studio is not maintained. The air conditioner causes condensation to accumulate on the ceiling, as a result the ceiling becomes moldy and they need to fix this annually. The same thing happens in the bathroom with the shower and the ceiling over the shower. They haven’t fixed any of the ceilings in two years.
Additionally, the building has promised a gym and common facilities for the past 2 years. Neither of these projects are completed, yet the continue to increase the rent.
If you have to get up early for work do not move here. The management is not helpful, the rules are not followed.

I love this place. Great location, beautiful views, professional management and well maintained. I see some reviews on here regarding city noise and city life being an issue for some, not sure what those reviewers were thinking moving to center city philly.

I’m leaving the Claridge after calling it my home for 2 years. My favorite part about the building is the location and the staff. Everyone is so nice and I was very sad to say my goodbyes. They are constantly having events for the residents– a wine a cheese happy hour was yesterday.
My only real complaint is that the walls are pretty thin. But Michele worked with me to try and soundproof it a bit and that helped.
I’ll miss the convenience the Claridge has to offer. It’s the perfect «first city» apartment as it has the safety of a doorman, the great location and the utilities are included.

I really enjoyed the time that I spent living here. The building is in a great location and was very convenient to where I was doing my internship. Many of the units have great views, people visiting me always told me how much they liked mine. I had nothing but good interactions with all of the management and staff. Everyone was super helpful and communicated in a positive and timely manner. I wasn’t very impressed with the lobby or the fitness center but they weren’t terrible. If I ever end up in Philly again, I would definitely come back to Rittenhouse!

I have lived in this building for over 2 years and I plan on living here until I no longer want to live in the city. The location is probably one of the most coveted in the city and that is obvious draw. However, this building is enjoyable for many other aspects which it offers. The apartments are nice and clean. The maintenance and staff are helpful and attentive. Management is on top of any problems that you may have individually. The utilities are included which is a nice aspect as well. I really think if it is in your price range, there is no better place to live in Center City Philadelphia.

Rittenhouse Claridge is a great place to live. Perfect location for city living. The Property Management Team and the Maintenance Department are friendly and helpful. I love the fact that they schedule several tenant get-​togethers during the year. It’s a fun way to get to know your neighbors. I have not encountered any downside to living here. And things will only get better with a new gym. If you are looking for an affordable place to live in a great neighborhood, this is the place.

I have been living in this building a little over a year and a half and I have to say it’s the best, I LOVE it! The staff is always so nice and friendly. Great location. I love that it is a pet friendly building (my dog is my sidekick). They have parties in the lobby a few times a year which is so much fun and a great way to meet people also living in the building. My favorite is the «Yappy Hour» a happy hour for dogs, how cute is that? A few times they had breakfast set up in the lobby and I was able to grab a quick bite before heading out the door and let me tell you it was delicious if I wasn’t running late I would have went back for seconds. Last month there was a Luau party, so much fun. Who doesn’t like a Luau. I am looking forward to the new fitness center they are building!
On a negative note, I just wish they would improve the roof top deck, I feel like there can be more seating.
All and all If you are looking for a place to live in the Center City this is the place to be. You can thank me now ;)

After living in Washington, DC and moving into Philadelphia, PA for the last two years I was relieved to find the city more affordable. However many apartment buildings like to present themselves to renters in a different manner than they actually are. Apparently the management of this building changed in the past 2 years, but I have to say overall I was disappointed in the way this building is run.
Overall it is an older building (as most of the larger Philadelphia apartments), but when I moved in August 2012 I was told about all these wonderful renovations that were going to be made and I barely saw anything happen over the next 2 years… This is a very large building with 26 floors and they don’t even have an automated package notification system– you get a pink slip of paper hung on your door knob or slid under your door. This system is very ineffective in delaying the notice of tenants of their packages and also keeping track of multiple packages (sometimes you initial for a package, other times you don’t…).
As far as the gym facilities go, I was told Summer 2012 that there would be renovation for a larger gym. I proceeded to work out in the building and actually hurt myself on the old elliptical machine that had a bolt pop out of it when i was in the middle of a work out and the whole machine proceed to tilt dangerously to the left. I was alarmed since the machine was already making strange noises and when I informed the front desk I was told new machines were being installed in a week or so. The gym was never actually expanded… instead they replaced the 3 treadmills, 3 elliptical, and 1 bike machine. For a building with over 400 apartments it is no exaggeration to say this fitness area is inadequate. After the new machines were installed it took the building 2 – 3 months to have the the cable hooked up to the televisions on the machines and even after this only 1 – 2 machines actually had working cable or a remote control.
This building has one washer and dryer on each floor and one main laundry room on the 3^rd floor with 8 washers and 8 dryers. The roof deck has some furniture. Overall the lobby and hallways are clean, but very dated. The prices for the building may seem affordable for the location on Rittenhouse Square but one has to weigh the other pros and cons of the building such as the help which can be very rude and unhelpful.

The only good thing about this place is the location, and even that comes with issues. Everything else was absolutely awful.
~The Management is absolutely awful. They are rude, and the attitude they give you is unacceptable and not professional at all. When my lease ended they charged me for a stain that was on the carpet before I moved in. I turned in one of those move-​in sheets, but apparently the person working there never put it in my file. She’s no longer with the company (gee, I wonder why?!) and therefore I was charged $ 100 for the stain. When I talked to them about it, all I got in return was attitude, and then they ignored my questions. Is this really how you’re going to talk to customers/​residents? The apartment was left in great condition but they still charged me for cleaning.
~They raise your rent a lot. And they screw around with the Air Conditioning. The building is a sweatbox both in the summer and the winter.
~They was a period of about 6 months or so when they were shutting down the electricity overnight several times a month. So everyone was without power AND water for prolonged periods of time. When I contacted the Property Manager, I never got a response.
~You couldn’t have the dishwasher on and use the microwave at the same time. You couldn’t microwave something while using a hand-​mixer. You’ll blow a fuse. This was VERY frustrating and annoying. I’m sorry, but I should be able to use two things at the same time without blowing a fuse.
~There’s A LOT of noise. Honking, yelling, sirens, construction, doors slamming, dogs barking, singing, instruments, and people SCREAMING when they come out of the nightclub nearby.
~They allow people to smoke, so the building stinks, and smoke creeps into other apartments. We had to have our bathroom fan on ²⁴⁄₇ because someone nearby smoked and it stunk up our bathroom. So disgusting.
~There were a few employees on maintenance crew that were straight up rude and need to learn some manners and not to be an a-​hole. They don’t fix the problems you call about. They make things worse.
~A doggy day care — really? This is where your money is going…

Stay far, far away from this place. The only nice people here work at the door.

My experience here was very disappointing. I could not be more thrilled to have finally moved out of this place!
Pros:
— The location is very convenient.
Neutral:
— I have had a cockroach in my apartment once and three times in the fitness room. I guess it’s good that it was only a few times… but I wish it had been never.
— The package room will accept packages for you as well as send them out. Unfortunately they have lost mine a handful of times.
Cons:
— When my lease ended, they kept all but $ 400 of my $ 2200 security deposit. I left the apartment in impeccable condition other than some minor normal staining. There is absolutely no reason for them to keep $ 1800. When I tried to inquire about this, they would not return my calls despite my reaching out to them numerous times. So sketchy!
— If you have your dog with you, you have to use the utility elevator which often takes 10+ minutes to arrive and is dirty/​smells like trash.
— The maintenance crew have let themselves into my apartment on multiple occasions while I was home, which is creepy. When they fix something, they often leave a mess (dirt all over the carpet, splashed dirty toilet water all over the floor, tools left behind).
— Cheap/​dated design and amenities.
— Thin walls. I can hear my neighbor’s horrible smoker’s cough and farting so clearly that it frequently wakes me up.
— Nasty, crotchety, old tenants. I am a woman in her early 20s are often get sneered at by the snooty old folks. It’s quite clear that they harbor resentment toward young people who can afford to live there. Two have left rude, threatening letters on my door relating to my dog. I have been referred to as «garbage» to my face, been cursed at, and otherwise verbally harassed by these older tenants more times times than I can count.
— Lots of street noise. I hear honking, yelling, and construction all the time.
You can do better elsewhere in Center City for the same price.

Additionally I just got my lease renewal and in addition to raising the rent 10% it’s only for a 9 month lease. A 12 month lease apparently costs more. It’s the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I think they are doing some rennovations so want me to live through construction, and then want to raise the rates after.
