TD Bank

They did fix my issue. So I’m updating the review. I think they actually do not have control over who manages the atm machines.

I was at the Rittenhouse location today (1÷16÷16) for a debit card. i waited for 30 minutes along with about 8 other people.1 rep left at 3:30 and gave zero response as to what was going on. A no goodbuy someone will be with you in a moment, nothing was mentioned. SAMUEL SCANELLA apologized to each customer along with a gracious smile and got the crowd moving. i will tell you the wait was worth it. This place has really stepped up since my previous HORRIFIC experience with an ex TD bank employee. Thankfully, that employee is no longer there (what a surprise), and the current staff made sure to Make me feel appreciated today.
I went in to pick up my checks that were suppose to be ready. They weren’t because they previous employee didn’t order them Like she told me she would have (another surprise). But Samuel was so sweet, he ordered them for me and waived the cost because h wanted to know that my business was valued.
I also met the manager who was very helpful and professional. I’m so happy to know my money is in good hands. For a minute there I was really concerned, but after meeting Samuel today I feel totally confident with their service. Thank you!

Not my usual TD Bank. I decided to stop in for some cash while in the area. THE nicest people are working there. I wasn’t going to check in and review, but their customer service is on point. Everyone saying hello, it was almost strange. Thumbs up!

The number one problem with this particular location is that the people who work there are GHETTO. There I said it-​because it’s true.
I recently used one of the ATM’s to deposit some checks and it malfunctioned. It would not give me back my checks or my card. The screen was frozen and it was beeping loudly. I went inside to get a teller and when I told her the ATM was malfunctioning she says «say, what? What do you mean malfunctioning?» I guess that word was too big for her, I said «it’s not working, it won’t give me back my card or my two checks, it just keeps beeping and the screen is frozen.» Instead of getting up to help me she just says «we don’t service the ATM’s that’s another company.» and then looks away from me. I asked her to please just come and take a look at it to see if she could help me at all (before just dismissing me). It literally took her an entire 5 minutes to get her butt out of her chair as she huffed and puffed over to the ATM. No mind that my card and checks could possibly have come out in the unattended vestibule and who knows who could have picked them up. But I guess that wasn’t a concern for her. She finally made it over and said there was nothing she could do until the next day except make me a new card. I said that was fine but what about the checks? She said if they find them and an emphasis on «if», then they would credit my account. Confused, I asked her what she meant by «if» as my checks were IN there, possibly ripped into several pieces due to the malfunction but they were definitely inside and told her she is welcome to check the cameras to see I was putting checks in. She didn’t respond. I told her the checks were important as they are my income. She said «We’ll do the best we can ma’am.» Oh because you always do the best you can so I have my complete trust in you-​yeah right!
She then said she was going to «AXE» some guy to come over and make me a card. When I asked her if she meant to say the word A-​S-​K, she said no she meant «AXE». It sucks to lose your card in the ATM but hey, no one needs to get hurt… lol.
She told me to sit on the bench and wait for an associate. All of a sudden, this guy I don’t know slides next to me on the bench, his butt touching mine. I immediately jumped up and was like WTF. He said that I shouldn’t be alarmed, he is a banker there and he came to tell me their card making machine is down. I just stared at this POS who thought it was cute or somehow OK to slide next to me touching me like that. I just muttered «fine» still staring at him wondering how someone can be so douch-​y. He then stood up and walked really close to me for no reason at all. Getting scared at this point, I took a step back. He actually had the gall to ask why I kept stepping back and LAUGHED at me. I told him because he doesn’t have the right to touch me and he kept getting closer to me. He laughed and laughed some more. I turned and RAN out of there completely FREAKED OUT!!!
He would not have done this if I was some guy. It made me so mad. He thinks it’s ok to F-​Ing touch me because he works there!!! His nasty, pube-​y beard was right in my face! BARF. He looked just like someone on my sex offenders app.
I couldn’t believe the number of incompetent, dumb but very opinionated, ghetto, non law abiding jerks who work at this location.
I called to hopefully speak with a supervisor or manager because my checks were never credited (surprise, surprise) and to complain about the horrible and beyond unprofessional service. I did not get the names of the idiots I had to talk to the night I was in there so they went through a list of «taneka tameka shanane bonifa kisha Latifah abdullah kaneshaqua» I wanted to laugh. There was no way I could name these fools without seeing them. It was like someone was playing a sick joke on me. if it were freezing in there, THIS WOULD BE MY HELL.

This isn’t my personal bank, just the bank that I drop work deposits at. I don’t really have a lot of input about TD Bank itself other than this branch is always clean and the tellers are friendly.
If you need to come to this branch, expect to wait a little while. There’s almost always a line and it is often filled with disgruntled, impatient Rittenhouse Elites complaining loudly about how there are so many tellers and only 2 – 3 are ever open. Yeah, there are tellers that aren’t taking customers but I hardly believe they are just sitting there pretending to look busy… so please don’t be that douche in line. Being a dick rarely makes a customer service associate move any faster… so just stand in line and check in on Unilocal and Foursquare like the rest of us.
I really appreciate that all of the associates have to wear green… I’m sure it’s hellish for them, but it does really give the whole bank a look and feel.

TD bank is the best due to their customer service, convenient location and hours, and the fact the whenever I make a mistake (aka drop a check on the ground), there super helpful clerks save the day (they found it, called me, deposited it and Saved the day). I have been with this bank for years — as they transitioned from Commerce to TD effortlessly, and I really must say, it is always a pleasure to go here, not a usual bank experience.

I love my bank, go TD! There I’ve said it. Great customer service, convenient hours, and they even have lollipops and dog treats.

So I deposited a check from a friend for $ 357. I get a letter a few weeks later saying the check bounced and they debited the $ 357 from my account. So I call them and inform them that they screwed up the account numbers and tried to take the funds out of someone elses account at the bank that my friend belonged to (that wrote the check for $ 357), which is why the check bounced. So they F$%^ed up and tell me that I have to go back to the bank and explain this all over again and only then will they give me back my $. So let me get this right TD bank. YOU F$%ed up the check and now I have to take time out of MY day to run back to the bank to clarify YOUR f#$%k up so I can get my $ back? F#$k you TD bank. I’ll be switching banks next week. Sorry, but I dont have time to run to the bank every time one of your incompetent employees jacks up my stuff.
What a shame. When it was Commerce bank I never had to deal with this stuff. This is the second time a in a year this happened.

i don’t belong to this bank, but they have better hours than my bank (bank of america) so i get quarters from them for laundry. the line can be forever sometimes. i hope good karma comes around for me taking less than 30 seconds to make my transactions.

#121 So I had about $ 10.50 in dimes, nickels, and pennies. With nowhere else to go but TD Bank, we were forced to use their condescending Penny Arcade. Yes, I appreciate the fact that TD Bank is open at hours all other banks stubbornly refuse to open, but did the machine have be so childish? PLUS, we were short-​changed by about 3% on top of a 6% charge to use the machine because we’re not TD Bank members. No dice, TD Bank.

Go to PNC! I needed to open a simple checking account. TD wanted $ 100 minimum and then would’ve charged me $ 14 per month. PNC offered free checking (no monthly fees) with no minimum!

I don’t know how people can keep visiting this location. It’s hell in the form of a financial service. I’ll try to do a brief rundown of why.
1.) Open 7 days a week and later hours of operation — Such a characteristic sounds convenient. It’s probably the only bank still open after most people leave work. Sadly, this sounds good only on paper. Their waiting times are OUTRAGEOUS! Sometimes, I want to go there just to drop off a few loose bills (I don’t fancy carrying around cash). Next thing I know, 10 – 15 minutes have passed, and 2 – 3 people are still in front of me! Seriously? To make matters worse, God forbid you go in there around 12 – 2 when most people take lunch. It seems as if all of the tellers do as well! Let’s review that: 1 – 2 tellers working + 10 – 15 people in the queue = a recipe for upset customers. Now do you see why they need long hours? They take so long to do everything!
2.) Weird customer service people — I remember when I belonged to Banknorth, I dealt with Vonda and Matt. They answered all of my questions, and fixed any sticky situations. Sometimes I would have a brief, but intriguing conversation with them while completing transactions. I felt as if people at Banknorth actually cared about their customers.
NOT AT TD BANK!
Tonight I needed customer service to ask a million technical questions. I’m a consumer living in America, so I have a right to know about changes in my account. The guy I dealt with tonight, he was standoffish, extra timid, and dismissive. He assumed I wanted to see my statement, so he just printed it out and brought it to me. He then had the nerve to look at me funny. I told him my statement wasn’t news to me, as I had viewed it this morning. His body language just screamed of «go away». If you hate people, become a mailman/​garbage man so you don’t need to talk to people. Don’t work in customer service and then treat people however! I was getting pretty upset with him, and asked him something else about my account. He just told me: «Many people have closed their accounts with us. You’re just one person. It doesn’t make such a difference.»
Think a good deal before you consider opening an account with TD Bank. Consider how much free time you usually have on your hands, because you’ll need it to make transactions. Regularly ask if any new fees apply to the type of account you have. They send out 60 pg books of recent changes, but most people DON’T BOTHER TO READ THEM! Next month you get slammed with fees that you never had before (They have to pay for the pens and Kelly Ripa somehow). I know all banks have fees, but I think TD Bank gets ridiculous (I’m a college student, sheesh). Finally, think about if you feel like putting up with customer service reps that DON’T feel like dealing with your issues.
SWITCHING THIS WEEK!

Been a long term customer — the nicest counter people in Philadelphia, and I’ve been to a lot of TD’s/Commerce Banks in Philly.
Quick, open Sundays, open late, and coin counter machine. Immediate debit card replacement, stamps, etc… Plus, since it’s rittenhouse, you get to see your fair share of the cutest puppies in town.
The security guards are really nice too, and often open the doors for you.

Convenient location on the corner of Rittenhouse Square with 3 ATMs. I just wish that ALL of the TD ATMs could do ALL of the functions. (Like deposiuts, purchase stamps).
They are often out of stamps.
Before, when TD was Commerce you could do every function from every ATM. This new system is NOT GOOD.

Listen up fellow girlies and boys who carry bags without zippers! Recently some hooligans decided to go in my purse, take out my wallet, unzip my precious gorgeous pink glittery deux lux wallet, take 3 credit/​debit cards out, zip up gorgeous wallet, put back in thomas paul handbag. I then left barnes and noble. By the way sketch people hang out in bookstores now? Who knew? Went to a delish dinner at FriSatSun and realized I didn’t have my TD Card! Yikes!!! Luckily I had cash (yeah the cool kids who steal wallets dont want 40 bucks in cash these days!)
I called TD. Luckily their Fraud Dept kicks major tuckus! The hooligans tried to get an exorbitant ammount out the first time and were declined (yay for unemployment!) and then the second time they tried the fraud dept declined the sale!
I was thinking of switching banks ever since TD took over. Not now baby. Any bank that has an amazing fraud dept like this is my best bud!
Plus I dig free pens!
