I love this place. The staff is amazing and the prices are great. This is my favorite neighborhood bar

T Hogan’s used to be one of my go to spots. No longer. The bar is simply going down hill. It is dirty, the beer is only cold sometimes, the food is only good sometimes. The atmosphere has become awful with loud, overly drunk patrons. I will still go on Monday’s because I have a serious soft spot for their wing night. Some of the best wings in Philly. That being said, wing night, my one favorite bartender, and the proximity to my house are the only things keeping T Hogans from 1 star.

Standard dive bar. Very chill and full of locals. I’ve been here a bunch of times. They have pool and darts. Foodwise, I got the veggie quesadilla once and I wasn’t impressed. That’s not a big deal for me though since I don’t go to dive bars for their food. The only reason I can’t give this place a 5-​star rating is because the area where the pool table is always either super cold or super hot. In the winter, you’ll shiver. And in the summer, you’ll sweat. I was there about a month ago and they had an a/​c wall unit, it just wasn’t plugged in or turned on. It would help if they could get the climate in there under control because usually we just end up leaving :(

The beer is very cheap by Philly standards, it never gets so crowded you cant find a seat, they have a pool table and darts. It’s everything you could ask for in a local bar. The food looks pretty good and they have decent food specials from 7−8pm on weeknights. I’ve only ever had the wings, and I didn’t like their signature honey siracha sauce, but the wings were cooked properly other than that. I just prefer standard buffalo. The staff is super friendly and gave me free cookies once.
The crowd is mixed with all ages, but it is usually not busy even on Saturday nights. Just bring your own crew and have a great time. They won’t kick people out no matter how drunk they are. (There must be a limit somewhere, but I’ve seen some pretty drunk drunks in here. Basically if a person can stand, or sit without falling over, and isn’t screaming they can stay.)

A favorite for Monday night pitchers, wings, and extra blue cheese.

This place is a fantastic dive bar, i’ve been here with a running group a few times, and if you want a chill local dive bar with lots of «character» then this is the place for you, assuming you are close by that is, otherwise there are other places to hit up in the area that have a little more going on.
All in all this place is great though.

Oh, the memories I’ve created at T. Hog’s. Or better yet, oh the memories I’ve wiped out. Being the first bar I ever got in to, this spot will always have a special place in my heart. For years it’s been my go to neighborhood bar for a laid back evening or crazy booze filled night, but the clientele isn’t limited to just the local yokels (especially since the area is filled with fresh college renters yearly). Hogan’s has helped me to celebrate a few birthdays, including but not limited to my first and second 21^st (you should have seen the bartenders face for that one), cheer many a Phils and Eagles victory, toss down countless car bombs, and to slay way too many fire breathing dragons.
Some remodeling has been done over the past few years, also came the addition of high def TVs, but the biggest change came recently with a revamped menu. Still present are the lava hot-​hot wings, fries, fingers and other common bar eats, but now they share menu space with the likes of blackened catfish, Thai chicken wrap, short ribs, and seared salmon with risotto. Gone are the standard wicker baskets; now your food comes on sheik white square plates with a few leaves of green leaf and frisee as a garnish. Hogan’s long vacant upstairs of Theresa’s is now filled by the Urban Café, and it seems possible that the kitchen now serves U.C. food instead of T. Hog’s. All I know is I like the moves they’ve made so far, and wonder what else will get shaken up in the future.
Come here to have some drinks, eat some good food, watch some sports, shoot some darts, play some pool, and have a great time.

It’s your standard neighborhood dive bar. Cheap beer, pool tables, and bar food. But the buffalo chicken cheesesteaks… oh the buffalo chicken cheesesteaks. They are like freeebasing a cocktail of ground angels, rainbows, and pandas directly into your taste buds. It’s a mixture of Siracha hot chili sauce, honey, and butter that I haven’t been able to duplicate.
Go there with friends. Get a pitcher of cheap beer, some fries, and a buffalo chicken cheesesteak.

Every time I enter Hogan’s I think about an old blues tune called «Give me a pig foot and a bottle of beer». Hogan’s is one of the great dive bars of all time. All you trendy yuppies and funky metrosexuals stay the hell out of here! You wont like it and it won’t like you! Every time I see a customer there, I think they’re either going to com mitt a dramatic suicide or they’re gonna yell racial slurs at me in a turrets fashion. But gratefully, I’m dead wrong. Instead I enjoy great conversation, cold beer, and some of the best bar food ever! So step over the drunk lying in a puke pond and order the nachos!!!

T. Hogans is one of those places that you would see a down-​and-​out just-​got-​fired person go to in a movie. It’s a little dirty. It’s a little run-​down. The clientele leaves something to be desired. That’s why I love it.
Not only is it a short walk from home (and on the way home from the train station too), but it’s just a bar. No catch, no gimmick, no pretentious prices. They have a lot of specials on any day of the week, and they offer lots of special event pricing too (Bike Race, Soap Box, Phils games).
Other people have said that this place is overrun by college kids, but I don’t think it’s that bad. There may be some, but it’s certainly not Main St. And for that I will always love Hogans

T-Hogan’s was probably my favorite bar for most of my time at St. Joe’s. It might have something to do with the fact that I may or may not have been of legal drinking age when I first started going there, but then again, I think the reason I liked it is simply because it was a no frills dive bar, with some games, decent food, and a hefty «discount» on our beverages.
It wasn’t much of a college bar when I was going there, but from what I’ve heard now, it has been overrun by Philly U students. So take that for what it’s worth.
In all honesty, this is not a place to go if you want to be impressed. This is a place you go if you don’t want to deal with a lot of bullshit. Yeah, there is the occasional fight, and the usual drunkards, but I once saw a guy prop a chair against the girls’ bathroom door, thinking he was playing a prank on his girlfriend, only to find out a few minutes later that there was some other dude’s girlfriend in there, to which she responded by throwing a metal bucket full of darts at his face, to which his friend responded by smashing a beer bottle over her head. And it literally happened right in front of my face. Now tell me that isn’t worth the price of admission!
