Tower Place Luxury Apartments

Cons:
Bills still very, very high – much higher than the suppliers’ actual rates.
Noise! Kids running in halls (tho management has been making an effort to address this). Also, no rug rules and no efforts to encourage tenants to try and be quiet means it often feels that I’m living underneath a marching band. One that marches into the wee hours. I hear every. single. step.
Floors were cheaply installed and bubble and shift.
Expensive, especially the relet fee & month-​to-​month fee. Shop around for a better lease!
Good business lounge but I would only use it if I need to print something because people are way too loud up there to do any real work. And, to make it worse, the printers almost never work.
Pros:
Doormen are great.
Gym is pretty good.
Building makes effort to have «community feel» with various events (none of which I can attend because they’re always super early in the evening).

This is anything BUT luxury living I have been here for over two years and I would NOT recommend you move here. These reviews are accurate, this place is not managed well the bills are EXTREMELY high and there are issues around children screaming, running around and playing in the elevators.
This place resembles a hospital /​hospice for the most part due to the amount of children /​families living here who are clearly very very sick.
While the apartments show well and they are sunny do not be fooled there are PLENTY of other places in CC that are much better (cheaper too) that are better managed.
You have been warned. (a resident who’s about to move out).

I’ve Lived at Tower for over 2 years and the staff and ammentities are ideal for city living. From Ray in Maintenance to the security group and Nicole and the leasing office each member provides the highest level of qualified customer service each and every time I exit and arrive home. The newly completed units are larger then your average city apartment and the views could be the best in the city. Pet friendly and a large gym make this building one of the best in the city. I’ve recently had a small leak in my apartment and leasing along with ownership had me compensated and settled within hours.

As another reviewer mentioned, in the past couple of months a number of large families have moved into the building. One of the many families now lives in the one bedroom apartment next door to me, and I am kept awake at all hours by screaming kids, screaming parents, slamming stuff around, stomping around, etc. Having an entire family (at least 4+, but I’m pretty sure it’s closer to 6) living in a single one bedroom apartment is NOT luxury. In fact, the whole building is overrun with these rude families and unruly children whose parents never seem to be watching them. Worse yet, none of the children or parents speak English, and complaints to management go nowhere. It is not uncommon to come home late at night and see toddlers wandering around by themselves and kids running up and down the halls.
While the apartments and amenities are nice, don’t be fooled. The environment here is unbearable, and good luck getting any help or sympathy from the management team

Absolutely stunning, beautiful property! Ever since the new management has come on board there have been so many positive changes being made! The front desk is always helpful, smiling and welcoming. There’s a nice outdoor area (fenced in and only for tenants) that is going to be beautifully landscaped, and there’s been some really cool outdoor furniture and firepits added to the courtyard. A night under the stars around a fire in the heart of center city?! Yes please. The building is also dog friendly, which is a huge plus. The building hosts a breathtaking view of philadelphia, large windows in each unit providing lots of sunlight by day and a philly skyline nightlight to fall asleep to at night :) amenities include a sheek 17^th floor lounge room with couches, flat screens and space to entertain groups (also with huge windows and view of the city!) and has a very Mad Men mod feel to the room. Also included in the building is a gym, yoga studio, game room complete with foos ball, hockey, ping pong, pool table and a flat screen for football Sundays! They even have a bike storage room and a huge movie theater room! I love the luxury of not having to leave a building to do what you need to do. On a rainy, cold or snowy day there’s no need to puddle jump to get your workout in, simply hop in the elevator and head to the in house gym or yoga studio. Rainy day gloom and wanna watch a movie? Hop in the elevator and head to your in house theater! I see great things ahead for this building, excited to see what’s to come.

I would not recommend anyone to live here. They market this building as a luxury building, but it is far from it. There are major HVAC issues where you will be freezing in the winter and sweating in the summer. There were a few people that worked at the front door that were very nice and helpful, but they got moved to a different building. The current staff is usually too busy talking on their phone to help you open the door or never at the desk. The gym is a joke where the 2 treadmills are not working half the time. If it comes down to living here or a cardboard box. Choose the cardboard box, it will be the smarter choice.

Update 8÷9÷14: There are now swarms of children running around the building now. They are out UNSUPERVISED at all hours of the evening (I’ve seen them out as late as midnight). They are running on my floor and in the apartment above me and the noise is INCREDIBLE (faux hardwood flooring=little insulation from noise). This places continues to get worse and worse.
This is NOT a luxury building. I repeat: Tower Place is NOT luxury and is overpriced for what you get. They should stop marketing themselves as such.
–There are major HVAC issues in the building as others reviewers have alluded to.
–The trash rooms are disgusting. I once saw something spilled on the floor that wasn’t wiped up. Eventually foot traffic got rid of it and the one on my floor smells.
–The cardio equipment in the gym is pitiful (and only 4 machines for a building this size). Perhaps they should switch the gym and the game room so they can get more cardio machines (and better equipment like Precor).. .
–The appliances look nice but are cheap. My clothes never seem to truly get dry in the dryer.
–You have to pay $ 50 to pay your rent online with a credit card. This is ridiculous.
–The water in the lounge and gym runs out and it may take days to replace.
–Some of the front desk staff are friendly but many just don’t care and are less than pleasant. You could be walking in with bags of groceries and they don’t care.
–Management won’t give a damn about you. Just realize this and you’ll be fine.
There are some positives: the location is good and the building is pet friendly. They just got a new Flavia machine in the lobby. They have a free yoga class. There is parking although the lot is full. There’s a garage one (long) block away.
I was between this and another building and have found myself regretting choosing Tower Place. Hopefully things will get better. If the rent increases, I will most likely move because as it stands, I don’t believe I’m getting what I pay for.

My experience with Tower Place has been relatively good so far. I moved here in August and have had no major complaints. The location is great; it’s right on a subway stop, not far from center city, and surrounded by a few great Fairmount restaurants. The apartment itself is nice, with an abundance of natural light from the large windows. However, the apartments do lack a few things that one would think a «luxury» apartment would certainly master. Hot water has been an issue lately, either they are turning it off to fix something in the water system or it seems to not be working for an unknown reason. The air circulation is poor, with very little air ever reaching the bedrooms. There are no overhead light fixtures, which is only an issue at nighttime due to the natural light during the day. The water pressure in general is poor in the bathrooms and the kitchen. But even though these issues are real and annoying, they are not deal breakers for me. The apartments are spacious and with great kitchens. Like I said, my overall experience at tower place has been pleasant!

There are major AC issues in the entire bldg, and in my apt since I moved in June. I have made numerous complaints and the leasing office will just keep sending a different AC guy to my apt who keeps fidgeting, resets my thermostat and then says nothing is wrong. Then they send a senior AC specialist who states I should lower my thermostat!!! what an insult to my intelligence. It is set at 65 and my bedroom gets no air what so ever! My neighbor has the same problem. his apt does not cool less than 70. After one and a half month of waiting for them to do something I have lost hope, without any change in AC, my bedroom is like the sun! I have had to use a stupid fan in a so called luxury bldg. This is NO luxury bldg.

I took a tour of Tower Place during an open house event. This was the first time I’d been in the building and didn’t know what to expect since it was a state government office before being converted over to apartments. From the exterior, your eye is immediately drawn to the square windows that are spread far apart. But surprisingly, the windows are quite large and the apartments get plenty of natural light. The building also offers a great number of amenities and communal areas.
