Whirled Peace

Four stars for the froyo selection. Our group tried the vanilla, wild strawberry, peach, and pb&j, all of which were very flavorful. It’s a self-​serve place so I love that you can take as much or as little as you want. The topping game is also on point — a good selection of cookies, fruit, boba, chocolates, etc. Lots and lots of options to make the personalized combination of your dreams.
Lower stars for the service and drinks. There was only one employee in the store — I feel for him — who had to tend to the machines while working the register and making drinks, and as a result service was very slow. I ordered an espresso but was given a small cup of weak coffee water that was three times the size of an espresso. If this place is going to sell itself as a café in addition to froyo, they should train employees how to make drinks.
I’d definitely come back here, but hopefully when it’s less busy or when more employees are in the store.

This place is outstanding. The young lady behind the counter is delightful without fail. Great range of flavors and toppings. Affordable. Dog friendly and a lovely environment to come and eat yoghurt. My happy place!

Enjoyed the variety of frozen-​yogurt flavors and toppings, especially how the flavors were thoughtfully paired so that if you wanted to (say) have espresso and chocolate frozen-​yogurt (always a delightful combination!), instead of having to swirl it yourself, you just pulled the middle lever and got a perfect swirl of both (yes, now I sound incredibly lazy…)! Toppings included all the usual sprinkles, chocolate chips, candy, cereal, juice balls, etc., but I especially liked that the sauces (e.g., fudge, caramel, etc.) were in a warmer! Very friendly service, too.

Very similar to other froyo places. They have a lot of different flavors and tons of toppings. They can also make smoothies. I think the price is comparable to others. I had the peanut butter cup froyo with fresh strawberries. It was good. The staff was friendly and the store was clean!

Came here for dessert one night after a delicious dinner at Buena Onda (the fish taco joint next door you should absolutely try), and was charmed by its clever name and interior. I’ve eaten a lot of froyo in my day, and I thought the actual yogurt was sub-​par. There are many different flavors, both tart and sweet, but the consistency was, in general, a little melty and icy versus thick and creamy. The toppings bar, however, was on point — extensive, with fresh fruits and a million types of chocolate and other sweet treats. Won’t be here often because I don’t live in the area, but a solid place with lots of variety!

This place is awesome! They have a good variety of flavors to choose from and switch it up a good amount. Also plenty of toppings! Love it!

This is a very good spot to grab some frozen yogurt near The Barnes. I really liked their fruit flavors, especially the Strawberry and Watermelon ones. They were not overly sweet or artificial tasting as some other places can be. And they have a large selection of toppings, from various candies to some healthier choices as well.

I love this place. The yogurt is good and the toppings are fresh. They have a sweet discount program for frequent shoppers and we are there at least once a week. The place is clean, including the public restrooms. There is plenty of seating both inside and out. But the best thing about it is the friendly staff! They always greet us when we come in. Very homey.

Went here for the first time a few days ago and was very happy with the experience. It was a great atmosphere with music playing, and the staff was very friendly. There were at least 10 choices of frozen yogurt and endless amounts of toppings. The cost is based on weight, which I thought was very reasonable for the amount of yogurt and toppings that I had. Plenty of seating available, including outside seating. Definitely going back.

Review update: Still great. Still go often. Still my favorite froyo spot. Moving away shortly and this is the place that I will miss the most. One thing I did not mention in my last review was the points/​rewards system that allows for $ 5 off for every $ 50 spent. It is a testament to the quality of the frozen yogurt shop that my girlfriend and I redeemed this 4 – 5 times this past year.

What a great place! Delicious fro yo, it’s kinda pricey but they have more toppings then anywhere I’ve been! You can mix all the flavors if you want or just 1. It’s all up to you! I tried the peanut butter, chocolate covered pretzel & original tart. With cookie dough topping~ yum! They also have smoothies & push pops. Something for everyone
They recycle everything so you feel good after you leave too. 2 thumbs up! Definitely a must go to place if you love fro yo like I do!

Sooo delicious! The variety of flavors is wide and flavorful and the toppings make you feel like a kid at a candy store. Everything is so fresh and the brightness is very welcoming. It’s a nice little semi-​hidden treasure!

I absolutely love this place. Flavors are always fresh and atmosphere is cool. This has been a great addition to the neighborhood. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a simple and tasty treat!

Best topping bar out of all the topping bars I’ve been to in Philly. I think I had more toppings than froyo in my cup. It was pretty bad. So hard to choose! While the fro-​yo flavors weren’t as exciting some other places I’ve been to– it was far from subpar. Also the place is really clean. I think if loading up on the toppings is your thang, def make the trip out to this place. Mint chips, wet walnuts, peanut M&Ms, blueberries, nutella brownie… The choices were happily endless.

There are so many flavors and toppings to choose from. There’s an adventure for everyone.
My recent adventure included fat free pumpkin pie yogurt. Yes, you read that correctly. Pumpkin pie! For toppings I went with graham cracker, jimmies, peanut butter chips and fresh cinnamon apple pieces. The apple was upon recommendation of the associate. He informed me it’s made fresh daily and goes really well with the pumpkin. And he was right. I could tell he really enjoys working there.
You pay by the ounce and it can get out of control quickly. I walked away with $ 4.41 worth of hand selected perfection.

Awesome flavors. Peanut butter cookie — genius! The cookies and cream is some of the best I have tasted. Bright. Friendly staff. Good music. Great topping options. Overall — I will visit whenever I come to Philadelphia.

Awesome frozen yogurt place, for a treat right after Vetri Pizza! I like that all of the yogurts are tart and they have tons of fruit flavors, watermelon, mango, orange as well as salted caramel and super chocolaty chocolate. Best part = all of the toppings, including my favorite cheesecake bites and cookie dough! I also liked they didn’t make a big deal about the $ 5 min credit card use.

It was a steamy summer day and the only thing on my mind was… ice cream! Or yogurt in this case.
Whirled Peace literally blew my mind with all of the flavor choices. I’ve been to some similar establishments in the city and none have the selection that Whirled Peace does. I was especially giddy when I saw they had mint chocolate chip, my all-​time favorite.
As for toppings, there isn’t a shortage, that’s for sure. They even have mint chips! For a mint-​lover such as myself, this made my head spin.
Pricing is 50 cents an ounce, so you can get all crazy and stuff your face or take the minimalist approach (but why would you want to do that?!)
The staff is very friendly and helpful and even though there is a $ 5 minimum on cards, the employee let me put my two dollars and some odd cents on my card, probably because he was tired of me searching through my purse for loose change.
I’ll certainly be back as there are tons more flavors and toppings to try!

As a resident of the Granary Apartments in Fairmount, we have a host of establishments located right below, including Pizzeria Vetri, Le Pain Quotidien, and Whirled Peace. The GF was most excited about the latter finally getting up and running earlier this year.
In addition to having great blends of frozen yogurt, Whirled Peace sets itself apart from the glut of competitors. How do they achieve this? As a champion for a variety of causes including Charity: Water and Philabundance. If you can treat yourself to a cup of froyo and help save the world, why not?
There are already two other locations in Paoli and Manayunk, with a fourth to open in University soon!
Regular Froyo
Priced at 50 cents an ounce, the combinations that Whirled Peace offers are pretty creative. But before we get into that, we’ve got to try the standard plain froyo, which the GF is partial to. Tangy, yet sweet, the froyo is a perfect bed for the ripe fruit, candy, and granola that are all available for your topping pleasure.
Rocky Road & Cookies n Cream
Of course, they’ve got other flavors like rocky road and cookies n cream, which I chose to top with strawberry, tiny kit kat bits, boba, which ate like pops of sweet grape caviar.
Strawberry & Key Lime = Strawberry Limeade
Lately, Whirled Peace has been offering mixed creations. Basically how it works is that there are two separate flavors that can be combined into one creative mélange of flavors! Case in point — strawberry and key lime are offered separately. But mixed? It becomes strawberry limeade. Not rocket science, but it makes for yummy tastes!
So if you’re looking to beat the heat, head on down to Whirled Peace in the Fairmount area and get a cup of froyo — you won’t be sorry!
