Harris Bridge Vineyard Llc

Drove 1 ½ hours from Portland to visit this winery and was disappointed that it looked to be all closed up at 2pm in the afternoon on a Sunday.

Contemplated on whether to give 4 or 5 stars, but only because I am not the biggest fan of dessert wine. And decided it wouldn’t be fair to judge them based on my personal preference. The fact of the matter is their aperitifs and dessert wines were excellent, and the service was even better!
Staff was very knowledgable about the wines and the history of the area. Quaint spot with «farmhouse» feel and nice relaxing music playing in the background. The bridge is picturesque, perfect backdrop for pictures :) oh and the gentleman serving us and providing the tour also happened to be a photographer, so we obviously got some good pictures ;)
Even if your not a fan of the dessert wines, I wouldn’t suggest skipping over this place. Definitely worth the trip and the experience.

Treat yourself to a beautiful afternoon with Oregon lore and appeal. I was an Ivy axe wine club member for a few years and Amanda would drop my order off on my front porch for me. I love going out to the winery for events — such a good time. Relax. Try something new — you might be surprised how fantastic dessert wines can taste. Nathan and Amanda are so welcoming and you’re bound to sort of trip and fall in love with them and what they’re creating at Harris Bridge.

The wine was… good; sweet like the innocence of a child, dancing in a sun-​baked meadow.
The prose was… not.
Other than the awkward readings by the owners, the wine was alright. The vineyard is a little difficult to reach, but the scenery is nice.

Harris Bridge Winery is a unique place. They specialize in dessert wines (always a plus), the winemakers will read aloud short stories/​poetry from a blogger who lives upstairs, and it’s off the beaten path. It’s like a particularly intoxicating episode of Portlandia. The winemakers are an honest, hardworking couple with kids. The tasting room isn’t fancy&filled with souvenirs… doesn’t need to be. When Robert Louis Stevenson described wine as «bottled poetry», he was right.

I second the original reviewer from 3 years ago by saying that the couple who runs this winery is fantastic. This particular winery focuses on dessert wines right now, but their approach is refreshing and their wine is very tasty.
Located a little ways off of 20 E on the way into Corvallis, each bottle that they sell comes with a little piece of paper and a story attached to each one. While the vineyard itself is still small, they use mostly their grapes when creating their wines.
Nate, the owner, is very knowledgeable and was nice enough to walk us around the vineyard and give us the history of the valley within which it sits, including the beautiful covered bridge which sits just a few meters off the property.
I would suggest coming here, even if you aren’t a huge dessert wine fan, to learn a bit more about the history in the valley and to learn a bit more about the culture of the area… after all, that’s one of the reasons why we travel to these places… not just to drink.
We bought a bottle of the Magnolia and took it back to the coast with us that night… goes great with chocolate and wasn’t overly sweet like some dessert wines.
…if possible, head there on a Sunday when the crowds have thinned out and you’ll be in for a treat.

One of the most spirited and welcoming couples I have ever met run this vineyard, their new daughter joining in the tasting room conversation with sweet laughs. Whenever I used to consider my opinion of dessert wine. my mind went to the Ports and overly-​sweet, over-«alcohol-ly» samples I had tasted before. A few hours chatting with the owners of Harris Bridge ended with myself and 3 friends fighting over which of their many sophisticated red and white wines would fill our case.
Harris Bridge only sells dessert wines and even our pickiest non-​dessert-​wine-​fan friends found one they loved: SEDUCE is a MUST! The wines are unique to each other, and I cannot say enough about the quality of the wine and hospitality. The tasting room is adorable, and worth the gravel road to get there. I live in CA and have brought more than a few people there on visits to OR.
