i had them give me a quote to repair our AC. The unit was 4 years old. The technician that came out told my wife, it was a poor quality unit and it would be cheaper to put a new unit on than to repair it. They gave us a price of 9,100.00 to add a new unit. I read the comments from other customers, they had tried to scam, so I called Howard Air as they came highly recommend by Angies List. The Howard Air technician told us we had a quality unit and it would cost 940.00 to repair the unit, we went with Howard Air. 72 Degrees told my wife the compressor was close to quitting the technician had oil on his hands to prove it. The Howard technician said there was nothing wrong with the compressor. 72 Degrees is good at scamming customers. Do not do business with them

72 Degrees merged with a competent company! They ousted Glenn, the egotistical jerk manager, and replaced him with Ted, the savor/​fix all from their new parent company. Ted immediately scheduled a meeting to sit down with me and let me tell him everything that happened, exactly as I perceived it. He was thorough, making sure to ask questions as he saw fit (which is good, dealing with a fumbling company for almost two months, I left some things out), inspected the work done and gave me actual, real solutions, in language I could understand. He told me he was going to get the work done right and make me happy, and even made note that his actions would have to speak for him, as the company had sweet talked me before. Ted did it. In about a week he took an almost two month nightmare and fixed everything. No more weird noises, no more technicians showing up at 8PM with no notice, he even was able to put another vent in my bedroom as promised, then not promised, then promised again.
A few weeks ago I would have told you, dear Unilocal viewer, to go to anyone but 72 Degrees. To find someone on the street to fix your air conditioner before them. Hell, just to buy a fan. But now that they have some management who can run a business and knows how HVAC works, they’re a normal functioning company that can fix your A/​C issues. There is still information gaps, admin assistants calling me about things I’ve already explained, or offering to schedule a repair after it’s fixed, but I’m confident those bugs will get worked out as 72 degrees finally matures into the beautiful swan it was meant to be. Upgrade to 4 stars, the improvement was remarkable.

Would definitely not recommend them. I called and they said they would send someone out. They showed up at about 9pm which was fine. By that time the house had cooled. He looked and said I needs a good cleaning. Took his gauges out back to the unit opened the cover, but never hooded them up. He then spend a lot more time trying to sell me $ 3200 work of cleaning coils, as well as unnecessary other essentials. He collected his service fee and left. No work done, nothing accomplished. I went on the website and voiced my concern never heard a word from them. They answer the phone how can we put a smile on their face. Well, its how to put a smile on their face by charging for nothing and not doing any work. Sad to say the unethical practice of some companies is unfortunate. There use to be customer service, not from them. It how do they charge for doing nothing. I recommend you seek out other professionals for all your air conditioner needs.

I had a thermostat go out on me and went down to Home Depot bought a new one and installed it exactly as the instructions said. It started blowing cool air so I left and came back 3 hours later to my house that was 94 degrees! It was hard to breath it was so hot! I was out in touch with Glen and he walked me through installation and was super patient. The wiring was super weird but he had me send pics of it all and he had me try something else with the wiring and now I am sitting in a 72 degree home. They are very knowledgable and helpful and saved me 100 bucks at least! Don’t hesitate to hire these guys

Some of the best AC guys in Phoenix! Glenn and his crew came over to look at my aging AC system and unfortunately gave me the bad news that I would need a completely new system. They quoted me a few different options and explained which one would be best for my home.
A couple weeks after the new system was installed I did some price checking only to find out that they had given me the unit about $ 500 less than a competitor.
Service was fast and professional! Would recommend them to anyone in the valley.

This was the worst experience. #1 I thought I was calling a different company but apparently this company must have bought them out. After the guy came out to my home he quoted me over $ 1,000 in repairs and recommended a new unit. After reading the other Unilocal reviews today, it appears he tried to sell me the same parts as the majority of other reviewers. On top of everything he didn’t even hook up my A/​C again when he was done. I’m so thankful that I got a second opinion today and now after 20 minutes and $ 300 my A/​C is up and running perfectly. There wasn’t even any other recommended services needed. I emailed the company directly as well though obviously this is the game they play.

Called 72 Degrees because their sister company, Plumbing Masters, had done some work for us. Our A/​C had been malfunctioning and leaking water. The technician from 72 degrees said that it would cost $ 3,000 just to repair our existing A/​C unit, so we may as well get a new one for around $ 6,000 (which was the negotiated price from the original quote of $ 9,000). Obviously we wanted a second opinion, and I’m glad I called someone else. Another company came out, found the problem, and fixed it for under $ 200. No need for a new system at all!
The 72 Degrees technician didn’t even open up our unit completely to find the problem. He took advantage of our A/​C ignorance and insisted that we needed a new unit. Unacceptable.

Total ripoff, DO NOT CALL! While their customer service and competency is good, they are looking to take advantage of their customers. The technician diagnosed the problem as a blown capacitor and dirty coils. He quoted over $ 800 as they knew it would probably be difficult to find someone else at 5pm on a Tuesday to get it repaired quickly on a 115 degree day. I knew a capacitor is only about $ 20 – 30 retail and replacement is a 10−15min job at most. Coil cleaning is not rocket science or involved either. Luckily I found a competitor who made it there less than an hour later and charged only $ 165. He also said that other companies tend to «always» claim dirty coils to jack the bill up further as the coils were fine.

I purchase a new unit early summer of last year, as I was tired of «fixing up» my old unit year after year. Since after the purchase, I have been receiving excellent customer service time and time again. So far, I have been very happy with the level of service and I really enjoy how they remind me (instead of the other way around) when it’s time to do a check up service.

I was satisfied with the experience I had with 72 Degrees other than the attempt to take advantage of my lack of knowledge in maintaining and fixing HVAC units and how much it costs. If I would have paid the $ 900.00 and later learned exactly what work and parts were done I would have been extremely dissatisfied by the amount I had agreed to pay (but signed for). I realize there are situations different from mine which would require that amount or more but I had very specifically explained mine and hope that (like I said) no one else would allow themselves to be taken advantage of. I would also encourage others to write about 72 Degrees (good or bad) in order to publicly establish their honesty and reputation. I didn’t add a start kit but replaced the contactor and capacitor for $ 32.00. Figuring that your company would’ve had to make a visit, r&r a contactor and put a start kit in (didn’t need the exchanger cleaned) I would’ve paid about $ 250 or $ 300 max.

After getting ripped off by another licensed AC mechanical contractor (whom we are taking to the AZ board of contractors for gross misconduct) I was very very very cautious on picking a contractor to fix my newly installed trane 5 ton unit I spent 6k+ on. Unilocal helped a lot in finding several quality licensed and certificated contractors to get quotes from.
I gave 72 degrees a chance and they handled everything from start to finish with no issues. I made sure I had the operations manager Brandon was liable for the work performed. Brandon was on top of everything and stood by with a warranty of all the work performed. Now that was something I needed after getting ripped off by the previous company.
The AC certified tech Drew knew his stuff and made sure the job got done from the start to finish. He went above and beyond to make sure the unit was installed correctly and I knew exactly what was going on. AC techs are a dime a dozen but the ones that are straight forward and stand behind their work are rare such as Drew.
So in short get as many quotes as you can from quality AC contractors but if you decide to go with 72 Degrees rest assured they know what they are doing so they will not rip you off and they stand by their work. WORD OF ADVICE: STAY CLEAR FROM THE LOWEST BID IT WILL USUALLY BE THE NAIL IN THE COFFIN.

So I hired 72 degrees for the installation of my new ac unit, they were really professional with all the steps for the install showed up at my convenience not the other way around it made the process very smooth and painless. If anyone has any problems finding a good ac company look no further i would recommend 72 degrees to family and Unilocalers out there. They had the job done in no time at all and i could not be happier with the service they provide hence why im Unilocaling out.

They mis-​diagnosed supposed problems with our HVAC unit. I decided to have a 2^nd opinion done the same day through my home warranty company. They found NOTHING wrong with it! I was given an estimate in the thousands to get my unit working 100% when there was nothing wrong with it. The technician also dropped a dusty air filter and the dust went all over our floor. Instead of cleaning it up, the tech said «maybe your cat can clean it up». I will never recommend or use this company again. I was extremely disappointed with the sales pitch when nothing was actually wrong. In fact, the electrical readings that the 72 Degrees tech gave me were actually so far off that the other companies technician first said he had never seen that in his 20+ years as a tech, but that those readings would have actually shorted out the main electrical panel to my home.

I had 72 Degrees perform a gratis check of my air conditioner after their sister company, Plumbing Masters, did some work in my kitchen. I expected some maintenance to be needed, as I had not had the unit checked for at least 2 years. Chris Palacios was the technician and did a fantastic job. He called prior to his arrival, and arrived when he said he would. He was conscientious of keeping my home clean, and he was very patient with and kind to my extremely-​excited dog. He thoroughly explained what he planned to do prior to starting the check, then brought me out to show me several issues and things that needed repair. He was patient and also explained the issues thoroughly on the phone to my father. He made recommendations on the best course of action, as well as suggestions to save me some money. He was professional yet easy to talk to, and clearly knowledgeable. I really appreciated his service. The past few months, it seems no one wants to offer customer service anymore, so it was a breath of fresh air to have this experience. Chris earned a customer for life from me. Thanks!
