History

Established in 2011.

Mobile Pilates with Alex (MPWA) began in Tucson, Arizona, as a Pilot Program. The concept behind MPWA was developed as a means to create a safe, comfortable and convenient space for students motivated to increase core strength through the Pilates Method. During my intensive Pilates Teacher Training program, I established a healthy clientele at my home studio. When asked, 9 out of 10 students stated they would appreciate having an experienced, trained Pilates Instructor come to their respective home and/​or business and provide all props & education for: Mat, Chair, Stretch/​Release & Postural Analysis/​Correction sessions. MPWA discovered how students seemed to be able to find a healthy, comfortable mind/​body connection within their own space which in turn, yielded positive lifestyle changes.

Mobile Pilates with Alex moved to the Bay Area in 2012 and continues to thrive.

Alex (Alicia) Ricci happened upon the Pilates Method during a Modern Dance class in college, in 1995. An avid mover and dancer, Alex continued to use Pilates over the years as a way to connect more with her body mechanics. After nearly 13 years serving the non– profit/​behavioral health sector (and teaching Mat Pilates part time), Alex made the decision to follow her passion for movement & the Pilates Method by taking it to the next level. After successfully completing a year long, intensive Pilates Teacher Training Program in Tucson, Arizona (2011), she was well on her way. During her training, she rubbed elbows with: Brent Anderson, Mary Bowen, Ruth Alpert & more.

Alex & her family moved to the Bay Area in the Fall of 2012, where she continued her education by gaining a certification in Aerialates (2013), Pre-​Post Natal Certification (2012/​EHS Pilates), working part time as a Pilates instructor at UCSF & establishing her Private Mobile Pilates business.
