I been going to Little mermaid hair salon for two years now and they never disappoint! Marisela does amazing work on haircuts&ombré and listens to me on how I want my hair to turn out. This is my go to place to get my hair done :)

I’ve been going to Little Mermaid and getting my hair cut and styled by Eyerim for about four years now. She does an outstanding job on my fine, fly-​away hair. I love the cuts she does for me: good looking, professional, and easy to handle on my own.
Eyerim is also great about trying new things when I want to, and keeping notes on what does and does not work. She is a real pro!
Eyerim also did my hair and makeup for my wedding back in 2012 (my old review must have dropped off). We did a few dry runs, tried different styles of hair and makeup, and on my princess day I looked and felt beautiful!
And Eyerim cut my mom’s hair for several years. So you can be sure she’ll do a terrific job no matter your age.
The owner, Christina, and others who work there are wonderful, too. The salon is really a hidden gem considering the moderate prices. Nice atmosphere, good music, easy access.
I feel very lucky to have found Little Mermaid and Eyerim.

I had my hair cut today, Christina did great job, customer service is very good., great place to get layered.

So this is a review of my first time visit. I was taken care of by Cristina. She was very nice and really listened to what I wanted and my past experiences with different colors and cuts. I wanted a bright berry on my bottom half and a touch up of my highlights on top. She was very patient with me as I like to know exactly what the stylist is going to do to my hair. She colored my bottom, bleached my top, toned it a bit then gave me a new cut and stlye. I am very pleased with how it turned out color wise. I wanted it cut a little bit more but that is something I can talk to her about seeing as this bright berry bottom is going to need at least twice monthly retouches to keep it vibrant which completely fine with. It was a lot of work on her part but she charged me a super fair price. Very pleased will be going back to her regularly!

Eyerim did my hair this morning and she did a wonderful job as always she also did my daughters hair… I am so glad I found her and will be back… Our hair is still up from 5:30am thank u so much and definitely will let people know

Had my hair done here and it was nothing like what I wanted. I don’t know the stylist name but when she tease and made a bump on my head, it was so small and was mainly on my right side. She also used the tiny rubber band for the hair and tied 5 tiny strand that she did to hook the extension clip on and it hurt my skull that when I removed it, it was red and tender. I don’t know why she didn’t just braid one end to another which would’ve been better and less painful. I did not like my hair at all.
Onto the make up. I love the artist herself. She was super friendly and talkative which is a plus for customer service! I love the product she use (HD forever) but it was a bit too light compared to my arms and such. She also did a good job with my eye brows but it was too thin and not as gradient as I wish it would’ve been. I show her a pic of a cut crease eye shadow I like and it came out bit too rough and thick for the crease. Other than that she was great and very people friendly.

I been coming to Cristina for years. Her whole staff is great they take there time never rush. Awesome prices so you can actually afford to look great. Best kept secret in Pinole.

Eyerim is amazing! I have had my hair done here 4 times now and have never gone home disappointed. She is patient and kind and really listens.
The salon is nice and very clean. And the prices are very reasonable for the quality of work being done.
They take walk-​ins but I recommend you mans an appoint. Thank you Eyerim! Can’t wait for my next appointment.

Honestly, I have NO idea how this place has such great reviews. I am going to say this as nicely as I can. Based on my experience, I think this place is great if you are a man, or you are a woman who likes an older look for your locks.
This place has great reviews and was pretty close by so I thought I would give it a try. It took more than an hour to do what should be a simple shampoo, bang trim and style (loose curls). The stylist spoke broken English, and my Spanish is not so great. So i showed her a picture of my hair how it usually looks after I go to the salon. It looked so bad that I left this place and immediately went to another salon in Albany to fix what she did. So I basically paid twice.
People seem to like her coloring skills. Or maybe that is another lady. I really don’t remember the name of the person I saw, wish I did. It could be really awesome. However, I will never go back to find out.

Eyerim is so fantastic! Her bold color choices & attention to detail are outstanding.

I got my hair and makeup done here for prom and I loved it! Although my makeup wasn’t as bold as I wanted it to be, I was still satisfied with it. I also like how they have airbrush foundation (It makes your skin look flawless). The people were friendly and I’m surely coming back!

I moved from Sf to the easybay a couple years ago and have been looking for a local hair salon and found this place on Unilocal so I decided to try it. I booked online and there was a mix up with the scheduling but Eyerim was such a sweetheart. She took me with no hesitation. I am in love with my hair color. She did am amazing job. Thank you so much! Can’t wait till Thursday when I come back for my layer trim.

Christina is a unique hair stylist
She knows what to do even if you haven’t been coming for awhile, I’m a person who like to find a unique one and since I met her I been coming to see her
One off the things that I love is that even if she is so busy she always take me
I normally come the same day with my appointment, no time for me to schedule before my duo date

And actually she was the one I was looking for to touch my hair

I’ve been meaning to review this place for a while. I made a Unilocal account just to do so.
The first person I encountered at this salon was Julie. She fixed an ombré that I had been obsessing about for months. I had a random copper/​brown ring that surfaced the top of my head. I looked like planet Jupiter (google it). The initial person who did it from another salon did not have the time to fix it, but she perfectly matched and blended my hair very evenly & I was very pleased. After I got over my ombré, Julia cut off the dead ends to the perfect length. Thank you Julie!
Second encounter: I’ve wanted nice golden blonde highlights for a while and I was recommended to see Christina. I was in love with her work. My hair usually picks up a copper tone whenever I try to bleach it (even when it’s done professionally), but she managed to do exactly what I wanted after showing her a picture. It was perfect. Thank you Christina!
Third/​Fourth encounter: Five months later I made an appointment with Eyerim because my roots had grown out a lot. I was very hesitant at first to let her know that I wasn’t 100% confident with the color because she spent a lot of time with my hair, (I hate sounding like the complaint department) but I decided to come in anyway. She was completely fine & professional with touching it up & was very chill about it. I’m now feeling 100% confident & completely loving the tone of my hair. It’s the perfect blend. Thank you Eyerim!
All three women that have helped me here are all very sweet, professional, & overall loving their job. That’s what I look for in good customer service. I definitely will keep coming back & I will continue to recommend this salon.

After getting a fantastic haircut with Cristina, then an okay haircut, I went for the third time yesterday and got the Edward Scissorhands special. It looks like someone took gardening shears to my hair and there are sections missing. See photos above, unless the salon deletes them. How does this happen? I am mortified to be seen in public!

For those of you who are searching for a great salon, you can end your search now! I HIGHLY recommend this salon, if I could give it more than 5 stars I surly would.
I recently came in for a color correction after trying to get my hair lighter by myself (TOTAL FAIL). I was hoping to transform my ombré hair to a solid caramel brown color. After buying what I thought I needed at the oh so «helpful» sallys beauty supply store I took my cheap ass home and proceeded with my journey to caramel hair. After stripping my hair and putting in color, I was left with results that made me look like a damn troll doll. I clearly missed almost the whole back of my head and the spots that I didn’t miss where uneven and different hues of orange and blonde. The next day i sported a beanie and I drove my troll looking head to little mermaid to get a consultation. Right when I walked in I was accompanied by one of the hairstylist named Julie, who happens to be the god sent angel that fixed my troll head. I showed her the damage and I was easily able to make an appointment with her later that week. After a four hour session of color correction, Julie was able to fix my complicated troll head into what I originally wanted! Thanks to Julie and her magical hands!

I needed hair and makeup for 3 people on a Saturday for a cousin’s wedding. It was a last minute decision so I really did not expect to be able to get an appointment. Luckily, Eyerim was flexible and was able to accommodate us. Julie came in at 7am to start my hair and makeup. Eyerim arrived shortly thereafter to do my mom’s hair. When the salon opened at 9am, I got worried that my sister-in-law’s hair and makeup might be rushed or might not be even done at all because they have other appointments. Everything worked out alright. We were out of there by 10:30am. I received lots of compliments for my hair and makeup. I’m happy with the service. I’m grateful that they went an extra mile for us. I plan to use their service again.
I deducted a star because my mom paid for our hair and makeup in cash not knowing that there’s a Unilocal check-​in offer of 10%off. When I asked the lady at the counter whether we could avail of the offer, she said she couldn’t give the discount anymore because the payment was already inputted in the computer. I think that’s a pathetic excuse. We could have saved $ 24. I think she should have been more flexible since we paid in cash anyway… it’s easier to just hand us back the dough.
