Crowne Plaza Pittsburgh West – Green Tree

I must say this place was perfect for my family and I. We stayed here for a penguins game and New Year’s Eve. The staff was great and helpful. The shuttle driver was friendly and gave us some good recommendations. Picked us up on time. Only downfall was one shuttle running and a few guests had to wait for second and third trip. May need to add another shuttle if they have a few guests attending the game. We will be returning. Thank you Crown Plaza.

So we came in for a barber convention very good customer service very clean and very accommodating we wanted to go and see the sights so we want on this really beautiful lift up in the hills and they did not have a driver on at the time we needed it so they general manager John was very accommodating and drove us personally and waited for us
And brought us back to the hotel. that’s what I called great customer service thank you for making our stay so pleasant!

Everything looked clean, no smells of smoke. Walls are thin, could hear the early morning showers happening next door. I asked at the front desk if they had vending machines and the clerk made it seem like the only option was their very small ‘store’ so I selected three beverages, totaling $ 8. After I paid him the money, he conveniently mentioned that the second and forth floor (where my room was) had Coca Cola machines. I checked the prices for curiosity’s sake to find the drinks there were $ 2 each, which could have saved me a little money. It’s a nice, clean room for the money, I would stay here again.

My family and I stayed here this weekend for a wedding at a nearby church. The staff were all friendly, attentive and accommodating to our needs. Our room was nice and clean, but other than the light switch being outside the bathroom instead of inside, everything about the room was perfect for our needs. The front desk staff were courteous and even went out of their way to give us directions to where we needed or wanted to go, and I can’t thank the bartender and wait staff enough for their friendliness and service. Overall, they provided us with an outstanding experience.

Came into town to see a baseball game, stayed at the Crowne Plaza. Friendly, prompt staff. Clean facilities. Hotel is at the tail end of a renovation, I think. A little worn around the edges, you can tell it’s had some mileage in its past life but it’s well-​kept. Everything was clean and functional. Comfortable beds. Great location, easy to get to (except for construction, which isn’t their fault).
This is true for most hotels of this caliber, but the walls allowed for sound to travel easily and we could hear other people who were being loud. Fortunately the hotel wasn’t too busy while we were there (a Sunday through Tuesday).
Free parking! Not a lot of things within walking distance, but there’s shops, fast food and local restaurants within a 5 minute drive or less.
The bathroom was pretty tiny in our room, which was a 2 Full Beds room. I’m guessing they are all the same but I’m not sure. Most rooms have nice views of the hillsides or of the pool. The pool itself was clean, but could have used more frequent towel stocking. It’s outdoor-​only, so it’s a bit temperature-​dependent. I do not think that it’s heated.
Bonus: I swear we saw Harry Stiles in the pool while we were there (we’re not fans, but One Direction had just played a concert the night we arrived).

I had a lot of trouble when I booked this hotel through Expedia. I was charged a extra guest fee. Even though it states that children under 18 are free. Literally wasted 2 hours being on a three way call with the hotel management and Expedia and being placed on hold from time to time. I did finally get my $ 30 back but it put a bad taste in my mouth.
Hotel its self isn’t bad. It’s mega close to Stage AE which I liked a lot. The reason for my trip.
They have a very clean crisp look to the lobby which I like. It was real simple to check in.
I checked under the 2 beds and it looked like they haven’t sweep underneath them in a few weeks. Gross.
Our reservation was for 4 people. Our room had only 2 towels. Had to go hunt some down. The cleaning ladies didn’t seem to believe me when I stated our problem.
Our toilet leaked from the sides everytime we flushed, which we had to hold the handle down to get our poop, pee and tp to go down.
Bed and pillows were mega comfortable!
The pool and fitness rooms were real dialed. Super clean. Super awesome.
The hotel has a bar which was pretty cool. We ordered some food to go. Not bad prices. Good food selection. We got chicken salads. The bartender was real friendly.
They had a snack store. You can buy water, chips, candy etc… The prices for these items were ridiculous. Outrageous! I shouldn’t have to pay a arm or a leg for a bottle of water, when some hotels give you free bottle of water! Why are you ripping off your customer.
Overall not a terrible hotel. We paid $ 140 for the night. Probably will never book with them again, some things really got under my skin.

Nice hotel only minutes from downtown. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Gym had what I needed to get a workout away from home. I will stay here again when I’m back in Pittsburgh.

This was a decent property. Great breakfast and decent fitness area. I normally stay on the Southside, but this is a good 2^nd choice when they have no rooms available. Unfortunately, you can’t really walk to any bars or restaurants. Very friendly during check-​in.

This place is just kinda meh. I got the room I paid for, and it was relatively quiet and comfortable. But I was excited that I had a Keurig in my room, only to find that it didn’t work. I immediately went down to the front desk, and they promised to have maintenance replace it, but I never got a new one.
I stayed there 4 nights, and they cleaned the room once… when I came back from an all-​day TV show shoot I was working on, they hadn’t quite finished cleaning. a friend of mine stayed over the night before, so both beds were messed up. They only made up ONE OF THE BEDS. Which is just.WEIRD. One bed was TOTALLY made up, and they even put aromatherapy stuff on the pillows. The other was still a total mess. ???
I mentioned this to the front desk. I also mentioned that my Keurig was never replaced, and they didn’t offer me anything as compensation.
Oh, and it would be nice if they gave you a free breakfast. Instead, their bistro charges $ 14 for the breakfast buffet! Total rip off.
Thankfully, there’s an Einstein’s Bagels nearby. I don’t think I’d stay there again unless I got a really cheap rate.

Stayed here for a concert at heinz field. Place is nice newly remodeled. Employees are friendly. Pool was closed when we stayed, but that was no big deal. Provided a bus to the T train n back before and after concert. We drive ourselves tho. Pretty easy drive 4 miles. I’m terrible at city driving and I made it no problems. I would recommend staying here.

If your driving it’s not too bad. But the hill is brutal for anyone with a bike and transit stinks.
Room was modern and renovated. Location terrible.

We made a reservation and paid for a king bed deluxe room, but when checked in — received a standard room with two double beds. The front desk employee didn’t even mention that we were getting a different type of room, so I figured it was a mistake. I went down to the front desk to find out that they don’t have a deluxe room available. I was offered a free breakfast or cancellation as a compensation for their screw up. This mistake has ruined our plans and obviously, I told them that offering me a free breakfast must be a joke and cancelled the reservation. No apologies were offered either. The room was clean but had a heavy smell of some cleaning product they use. No need to mention that we would never stay at or recommend this hotel.

The staff was very nice and friendly. The room was above-​average and pretty comfortable, although the AC/​heating unit didn’t seem to work consistently. The main problem, however, was that it was too loud and too much noise from other rooms, particularly, from the doors opening and closing-​actually slamming shut. Hotels have to figure out a better way so that people can actually sleep and not be disturbed from other rooms. If you can’t sleep and not be bothered by other guests, the hotel is worthless and you might as well sleep in your car. If not for that problem, I would have given four, Maybe five, stars. All of the other issues are completely tolerable by comparison.
PS. Hotel is not easy to find. A sign from the main road would help tremendously. Also, hotel has a strange design so you may have to walk a long way to your room from the elevator bank about the lobby.
