I had a special request for Galaxie, I wanted them to eliminate the beeping sound and bright light from my air purifier. Galaxie made the changes within hours, and I picked it up same day. Excellent and friendly service, high quality and dependable work. I would definitely go back there and I highly recommend Galaxie. They care about their customers and they care about providing a high level of quality service.

Thank the stars for Galaxie! I can’t believe this place! The most organized store — They sell newer pieces along with every sort of vintage stereo equipment — with beautiful wooden bases — all restored and brought back to life by Vince. What good luck to stumble upon this fantastic store. I am about to go back to buy the beautiful «GALAXIE» Speakers — hand made — super sonic speakers. The story of the local craftsman who makes them — it’s just too much — they sound ten times better than my fancy Rosewood QUAD speakers.
I am not an experienced audiophile — and the equipment can be intimidating — Vince made everything easy and was patient enough (and kind enough not to laugh at me) when I came in with my novice turntable problem.
I brought in a used AT PL 120 turntable — with an upgraded cartridge — as a Christmas present for my parents — but when I connected it to the phono input on the receiver — it was cacophony — I took it to Galaxie — prepared for the worst — and within five minutes Vince sorted the whole problem out. Simple — newer turntables have preamps which will interfere with the receiver’s preamp — and you have to flip a switch to turn off the TT preamp (hidden under the platter). Disaster averted and everything working perfectly now. We listened to records for hours yesterday!
I’m so excited to pick up the speakers today and get the home stereo all set up.

Galaxie provides everything you could hope for in a business transaction:
1. Locally-​owned
2. Good communication: When my item was ready to pick up, I received a voicemail message including the price of the repair, Galaxie’s hours, and contact information.
3. Affordable: My touch-​sensitive lamp turned on when plugged in, but the touch sensitivity no longer worked. I had called another repair shop before trying Galaxie, but it was unable to fix that type of problem. Galaxie repaired it within a week or two for a whopping $ 10.

Visited Galaxie, Atlas, Vintage Hi-​Fi (after I finally found it), and Phils TV to get an idea where I was going to bring my vintage Pioneer SX-​1980 monster receiver to get some much needed attention.
I ended up bringing it to Galaxie. There were some things about the other places that just did not «click» with me.
It took about 1 month for Vince to email me and say it was ready to be picked up. I was not in a hurry and wanted him to take his time on it and do it right.
Well, I picked it up last week and I am happy. Everything now works on it and it was done for a reasonable price relative to the value of the unit.

After getting burned by Atlas Audio, it was refreshing to take my tape duplicator here. The thing just needed a little TLC, and Vince was just the man to service it. He located the problem (which was not what the chumps at Atlas had said it was) fixed it quickly, and provided the service at a reasonable price. He was very informative, and didn’t seem burdened when I asked questions. All in all, a great experience. Hope I don’t have to get this thing fixed again any time soon, but when/​if I do, I’ll be going back to Galaxie.

Just got another record player for $ 70.00 here, and it sounds wonderful. The record store (Jerry’s records) was giving away box’s of records at the bottom of the stairs. But you have to take the whole box. (100 or so records per box)
I found a few gem’s …King Crimson, Cream, Almond Brothers, Traffic and Groove Holmes just to name a few. I even got a Mister Rogers LP ! …Not great condition, but I will be playing them on my new record player.
both places have very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Prices are CHEAP .If you have some time to kill, you have to pay these guys a visit.
now I gotta go get some pizza & beer so I can play my records.

Gave this place a number of tries. I have bought two turntables here and one cheap receiver. The receiver broke literally the moment I plugged it in. No big deal it cost around $ 15 – 20 and was very low end. Two other turntables I bought stopped working within a month of purchase… not belts… not needles, these were replaced and they still do not function. When I bought the last one I asked what his return policy was because of my previous issues… he sort of chuckled and just assured me it worked. I got burned three times and I will not be back. BUYER BEWARE.

Great find … stopped in to find some new Vinyl at Jerry’s, looked in at Galaxie. blast from the past. Walked away with a set of Kenwood KL-660’s. got home, plugged them into my NAD Amp, great sound! Vince was amazing … super knowledgeable … tried out some different Receivers and Speakers. can’t wait to go back. Building a vintage stereo system to listen to old vinyl and some new stuff. Glad he’s here in the Burgh

This is the second time I turned to Vince to fix my hand-​me-​down record player. The first time he needed to keep it a couple days to fix it, but it was back in no time and as good as new. This time, after a moving mishap sent me back to the store, he was able to fix it right away and I left with a working record player in minutes. Unreal. He’s so nice and knowledgeable, and not a bit cocky or intimidating.

Excellent service! They were able to hook us up with an awesome turntable with all the audio equipment and stereos for a very reasonable price. We thought we may have to go shop at different places afterwards to get everything we need, but we were in and out with all our purchases from one place. They offered help with anything if we had any difficulties and provided plenty of information to help us pick out the perfect system for us. I highly recommend going here for your audio equipment purchases or repairs.
