Kid’s iPod Touch 5 went thru the washing machine. Did the thing with the rice for two weeks. Still completely dead. Took it to UBreakIFix in Bloomfield. They tell me they will disassemble, dry it out, clean, test, and see if they can get it working again. I didn’t expect a miracle. They called a few days later, said it was beyond repair, and I got it back, no charge. So I figured I’d give it a try myself. I have the skills, I was an electronic technician for many years. I opened it up, and found that they had unsoldered the battery terminals from the motherboard cable, and not re-​soldered them before giving it back. They had also not cleaned it; there was corrosion on the back of the motherboard and in the motherboard connectors. There was solder flux all over the battery terminal area, and the flex cable for the terminals was damaged, so the battery could not be properly resoldered. The only thing they did was to try a new battery, and that didn’t work, so they said it was beyond repair. And they didn’t return it in the same condition, because the old battery was not soldered back in. I took the iPod back to them, and pointed all this out. They told me that one of their best techs had worked on it, and they did not understand why the work was not up to their standards, and they would work on it again, if I wanted. I did not want; I don’t trust them any longer. I asked if they would just sell me a new battery, even though they damaged the old one. They fought me a little, said they didn’t sell parts, but they would do it in this case, for $ 29.95. Haha. No way. I ordered a new battery from eBay for $ 5.85. UBreakIFix works on the low-​hanging fruit theme: if it’s an easy fix, they’ll do it. Anything that might be a little difficult is returned as unrepairable, and unless you can open it yourself, how do you know if the inside is in the same condition as it was? Because the battery was disconnected, this iPod could never work again.

I had my cracked screen replaced for $ 118. Within 90 days I was having issues with my phone dropping calls, etc. I took it to Apple and they assessed saying my screen was separating from housing potentially causing the issues. They fixed the screens attachment and no further issues. When I went back to UbreakIFix they wouldn’t give me a refund for the service that they did incorrectly. Poor quality work with poor customer service.

The service was very good and fast. And my Iphone 4s screen was changed in 3 hours ($ 69). I recommend.

Had my power button replaced on my IPhone. They did a good clean job and even put a new battery in after they discovered it needed replaced… at no extra charge! Fast turn around and 90 day warranty. If unfortunately I need more service, I will definitely be going here.

Knowing full well the screen wasn’t anywhere near the Apple screen (it was thick and raised up) I just needed my phone fixed n was happy to not be cutting my fingers on glass. I knew it was a knock off. A month after I had gotten my phone. yes I realize j post poned this updated review far too long…, the screen shattered n was done for. The shattered screen was way worse with this generic screen than the Apple screen. The screws weren’t even in properly. The pic I posted is just the initial break. A day later, the whole half of my screen was done for. Couldn’t see it use it. Stay away. I have since found a guy who has legit Apple screens. You’d never even guess it had been replaced. A screen that Apple with never even know isn’t theirs after the opened my phone.

I went to the uBreakiFix in Bloomfield. I called first and the guys there were direct and helpful. I had shattered my iPhone 5c screen and they replaced my screen in about an hour. So far so good!

Fantastic repair and customer service. I made an appointment to have the screen repaired on my iPhone 5s and they had it back and working perfectly in less than an hour. The guys were friendly and knowledgable, would definitely return.

Several month’s ago my wife dropped her phone and cracked the screen. The phone continued to work fine, but it was annoying to have a shattered screen. We took the phone (iphone 5s) to uBreakiFix and for 99 dollars (plus tax) they had a brand new screen installed in a half hour.
We were very pleased with the quality of the craftsmanship, the quick turnaround (like any of us could go more than an hour without a phone these days), and the 90 day warranty. I highly recommend these guys and wouldn’t hesitate to come back in the event of another broken phone/​ipad. We all have friends who carry around a phone with a cracked screen… send them here!

I was running on 45 mins of sleep and getting ready to leave for Father’s Day weekend. My phone was inside it’s case and after I requested my über it fell facedown. It happened plenty of times before. But this time the glass shattered. I recalled searching for a business on Unilocal and came across this lovely establishment. They guaranteed my phone to be done in 2 hrs and if I mentioned the Unilocal deal I would get $ 20 off my service. They also have a warranty for the service provided if something shall happen after the work was performed. Both of the gentlemen I dealt with were genuine and customer service oriented. The gentleman who I checked out with was Ian and did a great job explaining the warranty and accepting the Unilocal deal. So if you’re rushing or clumsy come here and get your work done!

I went to the place for a Lenovo laptop repair. The USB port and audio port had gotten damaged after the laptop slipped off a waist-​high height with devices still plugged in and it caused those ports to be unusable.
Both times I visited the place (to give them my laptop for initial diagnosis and then to pick up the repaired laptop) during the week in the afternoon. There was no wait and I was welcomed very quickly upon entering. After handing off my laptop, I was able to hear back from the technician who looked at my machine the next day and given a quote of $ 99.99 plus tax.
Having done some minor repairs to an older laptop myself, I knew that they would have to order the right part and open up the laptop and replace the damaged part (most likely the entire motherboard) and knew how much trouble each step of the process could be for someone inexperienced such as myself. I found the price reasonable for everything that it entailed to repair the computer I was using to do all my work and everything else on.
After about a week I got another call, and they told me that my laptop was ready for pickup. I arrived, paid with my debit card, and left with my laptop within 15 minutes. Everything is working fine and I am happy with this business.

Just wanted to share an update… I noticed a few days ago that the corner of my iPhone’s replacement glass was actually starting to «lift» out of the case, causing a gap and easy access for dust and water. This was obviously a huge concern as I was afraid that the screen would become damaged due to this exposure.
I stopped back into uBreakiFix yesterday evening to have them take a look. It was only 45 minutes until closing and I assumed they might just examine the phone and schedule a time for me to come back – but instead, they immediately told me it was a known issue (something about a batch of defective parts) and assured me they would take care of it. They also said they were using parts from a different supplier now and were having better results.
Twenty minutes later I was walking out with a once again repaired phone. These guys seem trustworthy (they were very forthcoming about the faulty batch of parts) and I feel confident that this fix will last. I should mention that this was all 100% covered under the 90-​day warranty.

Took a Samsung Galaxy S3 with a faulty power button. The repair shop addressed the problem promptly. Service was courteous, and they explained all questions I had to my full satisfaction regarding service/​repairs/​warranty/​pricing.

Took a Samsung Galaxy S4 to them which seemed to need a data port replacement since couldn’t plug cord into it. Ready for a $ 70 charge, they took it back and saw a metal shard lodged in the port. They cleaned out the port and didn’t charge anything! Great way to pay it forward for future business!

I took my laptop here to have the screen replaced after it got cracked/​shattered. I brought the laptop in for them to «source» the screen (take it apart and figure out what kind to order).They gave me an estimate, ordered the screen, and when it came in 2 days later it only took about 20 minutes to replace it. Overall — simple, fast, awesome service. Highly recommended!

If possible I would give this place 2.5 stars but I can’t so I am generously rounding up to 3. I cracked my Samsung s5 screen last week, and took it in at the recommendation of a friend. They quoted me at $ 129.99 before tax so I left thinking I would check around and bring it back if that ended up being the cheapest. In the meantime, I looked online and found that they were offering a Groupon for a screen replacement for only $ 79. Sweet! Except no. Because they only offer their groupons to Apple customers. So if I had an iphone, I could save $ 50 (pretax) on my repair, but since I have a Droid I am ineligible for a discount? Absolute BS. Despite my anger about the coupon, this place was still the cheapest so I had to bite the bullet and pay the $ 140 anyway. The day after I got my phone back, I noticed the screen adhesive was not doing its job and my screen was popping up. I had to then take it back to get repaired again. Because of the 90 day warranty this second repair was free of charge, but so inconvenient that I even had to come in, then wait a half hour, to get it fixed again. Also, my touch-​sensitive back button now seems to be on the fritz. I know a new screen costs about $ 10 for the parts — if you’re charging me over $ 50 an hour for labor at least fix my phone the first time and don’t make me have to come back.
Stars lost for inconveniencing me and stars absoLUTEly lost for cutting a large portion of your customer base out of eligibility for a Groupon discount.

Let me first say that this is a review about purely the customer service and not the repair itself — let me explain.
My iPhone 5S never had any software or hardware problems, I took pretty good care of it with a case and protector. The only issue I had was the battery wearing down too quickly and went into uBreakiFix to replace the battery. The replacement process took 30 minutes and I got my phone back from them. Simple procedure, in my mind. The nice young man gave me my phone back and told me to charge it at home because the batteries were shipped to them without being charged.
I get home and plug it in. The battery starts at 6% and I look away. A few minutes later I look back and it’s at 17%. How the?! So I look away and I look back and my phone is on the Apple logo… but I didn’t recall rebooting the phone… and the battery flashed 11%. That was when I knew something was wrong. The blue screen of death and my phone kept rebooting itself.
Took it to Apple, they said a swap was $ 269 and ran diagnostics. The motherboard was apparently damaged. I called uBreakiFix and they told me to go back to have it checked. They tried replacing my old battery and the blue screen kept coming back; nothing worked — DFU recovery, software upgrades, restoring the iPhone…
At first the young man who worked on my phone said it was a «very rare manufacturing error on behalf of Apple.» I informed him that he and I both watched him as he diagnosed my phone when I first arrived and there were 0 hardware and software problems. I had the report from Apple showing that the diagnostics indicated the motherboard was damaged, probably during the battery changing process. We talked for a while and he told me my phone was no longer functional, but they would pay for the cost of the replacement. Of course, being paranoid that they wouldn’t honor the agreement, I asked for it in writing sent to me.
Sure enough, the company did pay for the replacement and refunded the battery replacement. They were accommodating and handled the situation well, although I am definitely knocking one star off for causing this whole fiasco in the first place that took up my entire day running between Apple and uBreakiFix 3 times.

The first time I brought my phone here to get it fixed, I was told it would be ready in two hours. I called the store two hours later and no one picked up. I called 4 more times over the course of 4 hours and still, no one picked up. I should have taken the hint then, but still drove 25 minutes over to the store to find a note on the door of the store saying they had to close early. I was not informed about this and only wished they had called me to let me know so I did not have to drive 50 minutes back and forth for no reason.
The next day I picked up my phone only to have the screen shut off on me 4 days later. The LED screen had burned out. This was the reason I brought it into the store the first place. A few days later I brought it back to the store to get it fixed for a second time since the store has a 90 day warranty (which is awesome) and the guys at the store fixed it again once more only the LED screen burned out again in less than a week.
Once again, I brought it back to the store and the guys at the store informed me that the last 2x my phone was installed with a faulty part from a whole shipment of faulty parts. They gave me back my phone in working condition and apologized for my having to return to the store multiple times, and even promised me of my request for a full refund if my phone breaks again.
I am really thankful for the 90 day warranty and the persistent service at UBreakiFix, but will have to take away one star for my multiple returns and the inconveniences caused by the installation of the faulty parts on my phone.

This is the second time I have come here because I am a clumsy person who gets annoyed with phone covers and inevitably ends up cracking the screen of my iPhone 5. Overall, this place does what it says.
The first time I went I had a Home Screen button on the fritz and the guy replaced it without charging me extra. They are prompt and I’ve never been treated poorly. While I do think almost $ 110 is a bit steep for something I could probably YouTube and DIY, it is what it is. iBreakiLazyiPay.

I went in this morning to get my iPhone 5 screen replaced. I had bought a Unilocal deal that gave me $ 50 towards services. Before heading to the store, I called to inquire about prices. They quoted me $ 99 + tax. The service was fast and I was happy with my new screen. There was however a misunderstanding with my Unilocal deal. I had a $ 50 voucher but they initially credited me only $ 20. When I brought it to their attention, it was remedied relatively quickly. If you buy a groupon or Unilocal deal, be sure to read the details before purchasing.
