Established in 2008.

Established by international known coach/competitor/performer/judge William Carpenter in 2008 as a «mobile dance studio» the Allegro Ballroom of Orange County has provided quality coaching and training to the Orange County and surrounding area cities for over 7 years.

Business Owner

William Carpenter, Cirque Du Sol «Le Reve» dancer began is professional dance career as a entry level instructor at the Imperial Dance Academy formally located in Downtown Fullerton, CA. While employed, William was awarded numerous awards such as «Top Teacher of the Year» 2006 – 2008. In the later half of 2008, he started his mobile dance studio Allegro Ballroom of Orange County after the unexpected closing of Imperial Dance Academy in October of 2008. While his business still was in the start up stages, William co-directed the Ballroom Program at the Orange County High School of Art (OCHSA) in Santa Ana, CA from 2008 – 2010.

I would just like to set the record straight on a couple comments. 1. Kato attended a salsa social and was surprised it was all Salsa… The dances that he listed are played at the ballroom social.
2. Starzz complained about the grand opening. What she is speaking of is the open house, NOT the grand opening. Love how people complain about stuff that’s free… To have an expectation and then to criticize a place for it is really unfair. How do you set a standard for something that you don’t even know what it is? Nobody did anything negative to her, it just wasn’t good enough for whatever she expected it to be. Well it wasn’t the turnout the staff expected either which could possibly explain the appearance of lack of training. I know many good teachers who get thrown off their lesson plan and have to wing it and don’t do a very good job. Having to modify a group class that has become a private lesson is not that easy to do. It’s not very nice to create such strong first impressions and then publicize them. And it’s certainly not a character quality that one would want to pass on to impressionable children.

Allegro ballroom has made itself one of the most fun and enjoyable dance learning experiences in Orange County. Featuring William Carpenter, a world renowned Cha Cha champion, not only does he give you easy to learn basics, but very helpful styles and techniques that help you develop and blossom to your potential. Money isn’t an issue in this ballroom, they are very accommodating. Following William an accomplished dancer, the staff are highly knowledgeable and show great care in teaching you how to dance.

sorry, not going back again. left after the first hour of the dance party. spent 10 bucks to get in, oh well just considered that i donated to the school to improve and widen the horrizon of dances.
bored out of my mind after first set of salsa & bachata were played.
96% of salsa, and more salsa, bachata, and another bachata, and more of that.
cha cha? … played once. while i was dancing cha-cha, most people were dancing «salsa» to cha-cha music. Ha ha ha.
no swing of any kind.
no tango played
no hustle played
no rumba played
no samba played
please,… there must be more variety music and more dances in the latin style than just the ‘dog-gon’ salsa and bachata. i do believe there is more to life than just dancing salsa and bachata from 10 pm to 2 am. 4 hours of the same stuffs can get very old. (didn’t stay there long enough to find out, because the first 15 minutes turned me off).
the rest room … ha ha. i almost walked into a young lady there. the lock was not working. anyone can just open the door, and … «hello, nice to see you peeing».

Came here for the grand opening and was the only person here! My four year old had no one to dance with (for the two classes for
her age group) except the instructors, normally that would be a good thing considering she would get all the attention however the instructors didn’t know what they were doing and were inappropriately dressed especially for a grand opening where you know you will be making first impressions! The two girls looked sloppy and like they were rookies who may have taken two dance classes when they were in high school. This location was far from my house and the opening was early in the morning, I was upset, disappointed, and won’t be returning!
