West Coast Relocation, Inc

The only reason WCR got more than one star is because I think their employees are great workers. That being said, I had a horrible experience with WCR.
First, we booked a 1 bedroom with a small storage space move at 0900 Saturday of approximately 70 miles about 3 weeks in advance. We got an email and phone call two days before our move saying that the move would have to be delayed until 1200 Saturday since they booked another move that morning and, even though we booked well in advance, would have to wait until noon until a truck was ready. The excuse from the owner «well that is how the moving business is sometimes». So I wait until 1215 on Saturday until I contacted them since I hadn’t heard anything and left a message since nobody picked up. At 1:23 I finally got a call from the owner saying that we would be delayed again until 4pm that day at the earliest OR wait until the next day for his company to move us. This was great news to hear the same day since there was no time to book another company to move us. Since we knew the move would take a while since we would be traveling 70 miles we decided we would have to move the next day instead. I also had to take a day off of work since I had planned to be done moving the day prior so that is money lost as well. So they showed up on time the next day but, of course, it was raining like crazy all day. That is not their fault but that definitely made the move much more dangerous for the movers and my stuff. We finished the day in 10 hours so if we would have chosen the 4pm option we would have finished at 2am which is BS. There was no effort whatsoever from the owner to compensate us or discount us at all for him double booking the day that we reserved and all of the crap we went through.
Also, the company is too cheap to scan credit cards the way that the rest of the world is doing it these days. They use that old slider that takes a copy of your credit card and take down all of your information with that. Not very safe in these days of identity theft.
There is no chance that I would recommend this company because of their lack of organization and poor customer service.

Human make mistakes. It is not easy for someone to take the faults and have guts to correct their mistakes in a timely manner.
However, Paul does.
There were some issues with my long distance moving. I talked to paul right away when thing went wrong. He got back to us within a day with a solution.
This shows that the business is caring about their customers and reputation.
My tips to everyone are
—— Talk to the owner whenever you have issues or concerns. He will do his best to help you out. since customer satisfaction is their main concern.
— — -if you want expert packers, you need to address it clearly to them. No contractor, but their own professional packers.
— — prepare your own bubble wraps and tv boxes.
— — prepare enough ziploc bags for them to put the screws that they take out from the furnitures
— — -bring your own tool box by hand in case they do not have their tools.
— — long distance moving require a good plan. If you have enough time. Please make 1 extra day for them to delivery. The 1 day storage at their place should not be pricey. But the 1 extra day can give you a better night sleep and relaxation.

We used West Coast Relocation on a move from Irvine, CA to Bend, OR and this was by far the best moving experience we have ever had — I could not recommend them more highly. We were moving just before Christmas and the spiel we had gotten from other, large national moving companies was that our home would be loaded onto a moving van with one or two other homes and, depending on the destination of the other customers, there would be a window of 5 to 10 days of when we could expect them to deliver our furniture. This would not only have interfered with our Christmas plans with family, but we did not relish the idea of camping out in our home for potentially 10 days before we got a furniture delivery. With West Coast Relocation, our experience was very different. When Paul came out to our home to give us an estimate he explained that we would be the only home loaded into their van, and that the same guys who loaded our furniture into the van in Irvine would be the same guys who unloaded it in Bend, AND that they would arrive in Bend to unload the furniture the day after we got there. Paul was professional and just a lovely guy to deal with and we were so relieved to find a company with this kind of policy, and at a reasonable, competitive price.
To a person, the movers themselves were wonderful. On a Monday, the day before the move, we had 3 guys pack up our fragile stuff (and other things we just hadn’t had time to pack). Kevin was the team leader, and all 3 guys were courteous and polite, hard-​working, and professional. Tuesday we had the same 3 guys, plus the team leader for the move, Jeremy. Again, all 4 guys were just amazing — not just hard-​working and professional, but really nice people to work with. We ended up having to use 2 trucks because we were moving some big appliances and workout equipment. Because Jeremy and Kevin were the only two movers going to Oregon, this meant that they each had to drive their own truck (a 14-​hour road trip without stops, much longer with stops and meals). Even though we ended up using two trucks, the company stood by their bid and did not charge us extra, nor did we hear one word of complaint from either Kevin or Jeremy. We arrived in Bend that Wednesday night and Kevin and Jeremy arrived at our new house on Thursday morning, as promised, despite having gotten caught in a snowstorm Wednesday evening. Again, the moving experience on Thursday was superb. Despite the long trip, the snow and the sleet on Thursday morning, Kevin and Jeremy were upbeat, polite, professional and worked really hard to get us moved in as quickly as possible. We tipped all 4 movers really well, but gave extra big bonus tips to Jeremy and Kevin for making the long trek with such professionalism and great attitudes.
As a postscript, I finally got around to unloading one of our junk drawers yesterday and discovered $ 150 lying loose in the box that one of the packers had packed up for us. I had completely forgotten that I had left this cash in the drawer and am so grateful for the honesty of the guy who packed us up (his name escapes me or I would thank him personally).

Arrived on time, quick and efficient. The price for moving just one loveseat 4 miles was a little high. Was told it would be wrapped but it wasn’t (didn’t need it but I’m assuming that was part of the price quoted to me).
Docking one star for lack of communication about how to enter my complex. I wrote it in an email, told someone on the phone, and then the men showed up and didn’t know how to get into my complex.
Still, did West Coast Relocation did what I needed in the time frame I needed.

I own these guys an appreciation for excellent moving job. I moved from San Diego to La Mirada last year. I found it on Unilocal and this company made me very happy for treat customer very well. They came in on time, packed and wrapped my furniture carefully. When it arrived to my new house, they unpacked thing, put furniture where I wanted them to be. Finally, they cleaned up all garbage, and done their job professionally. I tipped them well. I highly recommended this moving company for its quality and affordability.

I have never paid for movers before, always done it myself. After hiring West Coast Relocation I will never move myself again. These guys are fast, efficient, careful, conscientious and polite. I was shocked at how affordable they were. Best money I have ever spent.
Usually you move and your back is going «ahhhhh, NOOOO STOOOPPPPPPPP». Never Again. I could not recommend these guys more. They have one guy in the truck playing Tetris and two guys feeding him things to pack. They wrap everything carefully and load it strategically. They work quickly and give you great bang for your buck.
Even with a close to 25% tip (these guys earned it, I hope it was enough, I felt like maybe it should have been more) the price was very reasonable. Even if you are not a tipper you will feel compelled to give these guys a little something extra, they are that good.
Thanks for making our big move sooooo much less stressful. Where is the 6^th star?

This is my first Unilocal!review and I’m happy to do it for these guys. My wife and I were looking to book a move from a one bedroom apartment to our new home in Brea. We looked at other local companies and none were as polite or professional on the phone during the quoting process as Paul was.
We booked the move and Jeremy was our mover on moving day. He was on time, very professional, took great care of our items and communicated very well throughout the 3 hour move. Not only did they move our items, they disassembled some of the items we forgot to take apart and put them back together once they were moved to the new house.
Thanks for making our move seamless! Would definitely use again and recommend to friends.

Outstanding movers! I’ve relocated & moved several times and would highly recommend Vince & Mike with West Coast Relocation. On-​time, knowledgeable regarding protecting furniture, extremely careful moving down 3 flights of stairs, worked hard & fast, and packed my POD so well there was actually a little room left in it. Their services were well worth the cost.

This is the second time I had to use a moving service to help me move. The guys are great and hard workers and the move all together was good but it wasn’t without any problems. My cheap ikea bookcase did break on the move but i guess it wasn’t that big of a deal since It prompted me to but a better looking and sturdier one. My couch also was really hard to move out of the apartment so it did get scratched up, but because the seats cover it you can’t tell. Still I’m a little miffed about it but it’s better than moving that heavy sofa myself. I’d still use the service though as overall I am pleased with the movers and their professionalism. My move was about 4 hours in total for a 1bedroom to a 1 bedroom.

Another Unilocaler that left a not so great review of West Coast Relocation messaged me to tell me that a woman at West Coast Relocation told her I was an ex-​employee that hacked into Unilocal to leave a bad review for them. Are you kidding me?
My review is my review and I still stand by it 100% that my experience was horrible.
In response to Paul’s comment… if you have access to so many blankets and shrink wrap, why wasn’t anything of mine blanketed or wrapped?

I have not hired them yet just because of a scheduling conflict. However, I was starting to panic a little bit because of the truck rental place (I booked this separately and they have no affiliation with WestCoast Relocation) called me to tell me that they over booked and didn’t have a truck for me. I called WCR to find out information on moving labor help and the gentleman I talked to was extremely knowledgeable, a calming presence, helpful, and even gave me some insight into their industry which relieved some of my anxiety so I will gladly use them whenever I or a friend of mine in OC need to move. Thank you!!!

Jeffery, who was the project leader, did encourage me to leave a Unilocal review. I don’t have any problem with that. What I appreciated was NOT being offered a bribe of a $ 5 Starbucks card for a 5 star review – which is what MeatHead Movers does. My husband and I had this happen to us on 8÷8÷15 and 8÷9÷15, during the first phase of our move (sold house-​move stuff to storage-​move into temporary housing). Let’s hope this unscrupulous, sleazy move backfires on Meathead Movers and it doesn’t become a trend.
So anyhow, the movers: Jeffery, Ezekiel, Carlos, and Kevin were superstars. They worked their hearts out yesterday, 8÷26÷15. It was a hot day to move tons of stuff, and they were soaking in sweat but never slowed down.
During the whole day they only took 15 minutes for lunch, which they subtracted from the time sheet.
The cost was many hundreds less than everybody else. They actually worked so hard and fast they came in below the promised ‘cap’!
That being said, this was nearly a 4 star rating. The reason being that while interviewing Paul he said he’d send me an email quote in an hour but never did. The next day I called and he said he was sending it just then. I did soon after receive an email, but it was for somebody else’s quote.
However, given the extremely competitive pricing and SUPER-​HERO level job performance of the movers, I decided to go with the five stars. To me, 5 stars doesn’t have to be perfection – I just have to be extremely pleased.

I found these guys quite by happenstance, but I am so glad I did. Gary and Keith were wonderful. Sorry that this review is 4 months overdue. They were such troopers as I took them on an odyssey all over Orange County!
They started at my old office, where my nasty, miserable landlord tried to throw them off the property. I was hoping they would deck him, but they managed to rise above it.
They took all of my stuff out of the office, including a very heavy antique hutch, and lugged it without complaint across the whole darn parking lot. My landlord, as predicted, made it as inconvenient for them as possible.
They moved me into my new office with care and diligence.
Next they unloaded some of the heavy furniture at my new house — very gently and carefully.
Then on to my old house, where they unloaded more, and picked up everything my son left in my house that I was tired of looking at, including his large, stand-​up Street Fighter arcade game.
As sun was setting they unloaded all of this at my son’s house.
There wasn’t a glitch or scratch on anything.
I highly recommend them.

These movers are amazing!!! I have never seen movers work so hard. The second they walked through my front door, they went right to work. They also took amazing care of my stuff. I was moving out of an apartment on the fourth floor with lots of large pieces of furniture. It was no problem for these guys. They got it all down the elevator and into the truck with great care. They also wrapped everything up. I was so impressed. I highly recommend West Coast! I will definitely use them again the next time I move.

2 times. First to move around furniture. Gary and his son were fast and great. I say if it were only Gary and his son… id give 5 star.
If you do use this company– ask for Gary! Gary goes above and beyond– you can tell he takes care of you and your things… its not his fault of who his co worker are that day… Gary is a good person — strong too.
Just good luck if you run into any mishaps– Paul– the owner is a nightmare He’s sweet in the beginning and if everything went smooth– but if anything turns sour and you question him. …you will need to see a therapist soon, or put your name on as many prayer lists as you can find.
However, 2^nd time I called Paul– owner. All went well until something broke. Gary, Q, another worker– I forgot his name. It was the name I forgot that broke 2 of my items. I became worried, I called Paul to ask if he can just call his guys and ask them to be a little more careful because most of my items are delicate. Paul got upset that I called and said it’s my fault for not packing it well… I said I understand mishaps happen, I’m just asking you to also ask them be more careful. After we hung up, I didn’t feel so confident in this company anymore.
During the move the movers NOT GARY– the other two were saying «oh well– shit happens «- Not Gary– The whole day! Mind you l have 3 kids under age 10 in my house. We dont swear! So I tried to explain to my kids some people use poor word choices to express themselves unproductively– I dunno. it just came out
The guys did their best. My friend who just moved ask me if these guys are charging you by the hour? She was helping me that day. it said yes $ 119…she said obviously they are taking their sweet time. I asked her to help me keep them moving along… I bought them 24pk Dasani water and pepz pizza for late lunch.
The move costed almost 2 grand. from a 3 bedroom to a 3 bedroom. Paul tried to charge me over 2 grand, but my credit card companies called me from fraud prevention. I then became pissed. I called Paul. He started yelling at me! Wait a minute! Why is he yelling at me? Hsaid — I’m accusing of something he knows Nothing about. I didn’t even get to speak yet– He wouldn’t let me speak. Reminded me of the rude customer at a busy restaurant kind of guy– the type that you’d hate to be the server he was shouting at…
Obviously he didn’t want to know my concern. Very rude and unprofessional. After yelling at me for stuff that supposedly did to his employees — really?
He said. ok now I will stop now u go… I wanted to hang up and see if that really just happened. . I gathered pieces of myself from the floor– after he just shred me apart– …I asked why did you charge me more than the amount I signed on my receipt–
Paul– I Don’t know what you’re talking about. I said my credit card company just called me and if you plan to charge me that amount, I need a receipt showing I signed for that amount. He said– go deal with your credit card company. After we hung up,
I felt glad for fraud prevention departments. After a week. I only authorized the amount agreed on my moving receipt. However, I still have to monitor if Paul will try to charge the other amount of over 2 grand after I already paid him the amount just under 2 grand… it’s only 3 bedroom move! If he does… that means he will charge me over $ 4,000.00 to move a 3 bedroom home to a 3 bedroom within 30 miles. My old neighbor moved to Illinois from Southern California for only 2800 $
I will not be using this company again. Paul’s behavior scares me and the credit card issue seemed to happen often with other customers — in other reviews — wish I had read those)=

5 star operation all of the way!
After researching on line, I spoke to Paul who was great. The day of the move we had 4 guys show up, on time and they got right to work. They were all so polite and very careful. Everything was wrapped and taken well care of. Gary kept the team moving with solid direction and on point.
Moving companies can be a disaster but the team was awesome! We couldn’t have been happier with their service! I highly recommend them.

I moved from Anaheim, CA to San Diego, CA and West Coast Relocation was amazing!
First, we had to change the move date twice and Paul was very nice and accommodating, never a problem with moving the date and very considerate. We also changed how much we were moving and it was also not a problem.
For the actual move, Jeremy and George were our movers and they were awesome! Fast, efficient, great with the furniture. I had quite a few large furniture items I was getting rid of and they carried those down for me as well.
We were moving to two locations, the majority of the items to a storage unit and the rest to a house. They had no problem with the multiple locations and did a great job fitting everything into the storage unit!
I would highly recommend West Coast Relocation, the move went very smoothly and they were excellent.

My company had hired West Coast for an office move and they did a great job. So I called them up when I was moving my household from Placentia to Palm Springs. Coordinated the move with Paul. Jeremy and his crew arrived on time. They were polite and worked efficiently and diligently. Nothing was lost or broken. The thing I like best about using West Coast is that the pricing was straightforward from start of the project to the end. I was quoted one price per hour for three guys a truck — a price which I thought was very reasonable — and that’s exactly what I paid. They charge for actual loading and unloading time, plus double the one-​way drive time. The entire process was easy and there were no hidden charges or surprises. I would absolutely use them again.

I gotta say… it was a great experience working with them. we booked our moving service for Mar.14, 2015.
The staff contacted us first thing in the morning and let us know the estimated time they will arrive.
we were moving from apartment complex 4^th floor unit to 2 stories single family household.
everything was handled with care and dissemble/​assemble properly.
They accidentally left one item in our apartment lobby, and after we signed all the paperwork and paid, they still went back and grabbed the item to the new house.
I feel the price is pretty competitive and I’m satisfied with the services we received.

You’d be amazed how much junk two people can accumulate in their home after 9 years. In our case, it was the garage. We recently sold our house and I was responsible for hiring the movers. I went through the dozens of postcards and mailers that were sent to the house and decided to call 5 different companies. When I called West Coast Relo, the owner, Paul, answered the phone and was very honest and gave some good advice as to things I should look out for when hiring a moving company. I did some further research on Unilocal and after seeing a lot of positive reviews, decided to go with West Coast Relo.
Overall, this was a satisfactory move at a good price and the guys were careful with our furniture.
The Good:
–Paul was great to talk to and didn’t push a hard sell when I called.
–3 guys that showed up were friendly and careful with our belongings.
–They didn’t lock me into a 5 or 6-​hour minimum. (Job completed in a little over 4 hours)
— Plenty of shrink wrap
— Took care disconnecting the washer/​dryer and 3 piece office desk and bringing them down stairs and to truck
Suggestions for Improvement:
— Please provide more garment boxes. 3 boxes was just enough to hang my suits, dress shirts, slacks, and some coats. Needed at least 3 more for my wife’s clothes and we ended up bringing her clothes over separately and laid flat in the back seat of our car.
— Would like a confirmation call a day prior to the move to ensure time and # of movers that will arrive. (We had requested 9AM start, but the driver called me at 7AM stating that he was on his way.)
