1st Class Heat & Air

CHISLERS! I spoke with DAN, nice gentleman; because Randy was busy. He answered the phone but of course knew nothing about pricing. (Just like all these other crooks in the ac biz, wanting $ 80 just to show up, not even knowing if they can fix your issue. And they’ve been in service for years and have excellent reviews… What don’t you know how much a routine repair would cost!!, but can’t confirm a cost for anything.)
My dog chewed through my temperature/​control wiring and the insulation housing. (TWO WIRES & padding). How much to come out and reconnect, replace the two wires and, reinstall insulation.
Anyway, so I tell Dan my issue. He says he’s going to have to call a tech, and put me on hold. He was gone all of 2 minutes. I’m sure hit hit the hold button, and did the proverbial fist pump and Cha-​CHing sound. He says his tech said it would be over $ 200 bucks, on top of the $ 40 (The $ 40 is a special they’re running.) for coming to my house. I thank him for his time, and hit the hang up button before he even replies.
What dear old scoundrel Dan and his tech didn’t know… This is the second time it’s happened. The ac repair man who did it last time, was booked until Saturday. My wife stays home and I wanted to see about getting it repaired sooner. The charge was $ 80 for 10 minutes of work! SCAMMERS!!! Now I see why my regular guy is always busy… Because he’s honest and gives people a fair deal. Steer clear of this place unless you don’t care about being treated fairly.

When I called they were able to come same day and very nice. Ben was great and super honest he even had me call original company that installed unit less than 3 yrs ago to see if labor covered since part was under warranty to help save me money, even if it meant him loosing the job. Original company didn’t so I went with 1^st Class and when we thought we had another issue they even came back at 9 pm at night. I highly recommend to anybody else.

Got up at 6am on a Monday a few weeks ago and noticed the house seemed kind of hot. Sure enough, warm air blowing out of the vents and the outside unit not running at all. Worst case scenario as it would be well over 100 degrees that day and I absolutely had to go in to work. The last two companies I used sent salesmen, not repair men and just wanted to sell me a new system. So I asked around at work and was referred to 1^st Class. I called them at 8am and the tech (Art) was at my house by 9:30. He quickly diagnosed the issue and had it fixed in a few minutes for a nominal cost. He explained over the phone that my unit was old and running on borrowed time, but recommended that I save my money and wait until the system fails to replace it. I was very impressed by their speed of repair, honesty, knowledge and technical skill. The best part was my 6-​year old daughter woke up to a cool house and didn’t even know the air had gone out! I highly recommend these guys.

Teresa and Randy at First Class are great! I had to have 2 new units installed in my home and they made it so easy.
When I called they were out within a couple of hours which was shocking because normally you wait forever for service people to show up. The service man Chip walked me thru what the issues were and we settled on the new units. I had both of my new units installed the next day! Such fast and great service and with this 100 degree heat it was much appreciated.

1^st Class does a great job and does it right the first time! Even during their busiest time they got to us quickly. I would highly recommend them and their services!

I purchased a groupon for a tune up on my air conditioner, and I was very pleased. They predictably recommended upgrading our insulation, replacing the air vents (both of which we were aware of), and gave us some helpful tips to keep our outside unit in good repair. The service was quick and friendly.

Have had them come out 2 times for 2 different situations. 1^st was Ben and 2^nd time was Art. Both guys super nice and great. If have any more ac or heating needs arise, 1^st class air will be my 1^st choice for repairs.

These guys were great! I’ve used them twice now, and their service was extremely prompt. In one case they were at my house within the hour. Their work is fast, friendly, professional, and diligent. I would highly recommend them to everyone!

I was absolutely thrilled with the service! On a Sunday they came right out, did not charge overtime and the technician knew what was wrong and had it up and running in just a few minutes. The part was on the truck. No delay!

I have never dealt with a more psychotic company in my entire life!
I’d give negative stars if it were possible.
My outdoor unit starting to sound really bad, so I called 1^st Class Heating to come check it out. The fan was going out. I was told, since it’s such an old system they’ll have to special order a motor for it, and it will run between $ 500-​$ 700. Ouch! I said, ok if it needs to be done.
Next day I had to call to see what the total cost would be…$ 700. I asked what’s the breakdown of labor vs. parts. I got a labor rate and then vagueness. So they come out and install the new motor. Afterwards I investigated to see how much the motor was since I wasn’t told. It was $ 140. What???
That evening I call the office to find out why a $ 140 motor would cost $ 700 to install. Right off the bat I was met with hostility. How dare I question their pricing. For 10 minutes I’m using math saying, with a generous labor rate, it should only be a $ 300 job, what’s the extra $ 400 for? I got back more anger and hostility and he asks me, «how do you sleep at night?» I sleep very well thank you.
Finally he says, «look. Here’s what I’ll do. I’ll give you back your check and take the motor back.» I said, «will you put my old motor back in?» He said, «no!» So I said, «No way. I am not going to be left with a non-​functioning unit on a hot summer day. I will keep the motor and chalk it up to an expensive life lesson.»
You’d think at this time the situation would be over. He has my money, and I now own a new a/​c motor. Wrong!
A half hour later there is a tech, trespassing on my property and attempting to steal my motor out of my a/​c unit. I said, «what’s going on here!!!» He said he was ordered to take back the motor. I told him to leave the motor and get off my property. Had I not been home, MY motor, that I PAID for, would have been stolen out of my a/​c unit, thus leaving it inoperable.
So any company that would try to steal your property because you made them mad is just plain psychotic!

My A/​C was cooling intermittently for a couple of days until it finally went out on a Friday night. I called 1^st Class because I had used them before. The last time, they were able to fix my issue at a small cost, so I was hoping for the same. I was given a range of two hours for the technician to come out, and he was only about 15 minutes late, so I was okay with that. I’m just glad he was able to come out so late on a Friday night.
The tech’s name was Chip, and he has been doing this for over a decade now, and his experience showed. He was able to diagnose the exact issues and fix them immediately. He was in and out in about two hours. The cost of the repair was a little high for me; especially since the last time was so little, but I imagine it would’ve been a pricey repair no matter where I went. I just had peace of mind knowing that Chip took care of me this time. His expertise made me feel better about the amount I spent. I didn’t have to replace my unit, so that’s a good thing, and I’d been in that house for 10 years now. If I ever need air or heating services, I’ll definitely call 1^st Class and specifically ask for Chip. I always go with the guy who has the most experience.

The guys are great, and the semi-​annual service check-​up makes sure my unit is going to be running great in the Winter and Summer months when it is most important. They never try to up-​sell me on something I don’t need, but point out proactive things to keep my units running at their best. Thanks again for the great service!

Our workhorse unit (1 of 3) went out yesterday. Troy came out at noon and by 2pm we had a brand new 4 ton system in place and cooling the house. We did NOT get «up sold“like we have by others in past. I believe the reason the person below was quoted $ 7k was due to attic guts. We paid $ 3900 and were extremely pleased. We had to replace a coil last year in one of our other units. It was $ 3k with some other components. We called these guys back out because of integrity, quick response, and very reasonable prices.

Called company to ask for a quote on duct work repair or replacement. First was asked if this could wait for the fall, then changed and said I prefer not do this type work. Disappointed based on what I see posted on the web.

I needed help quick my heat was not working in my downstairs room and they came out with in the hour. The part was going to be $ 600 but i asked if they could just show me and I could temp fix until i could afford the part. They agreed. Defiantly would use them again.

The temps this week are supposed to steadily stay around 99*. The inside of our house was hotter than being outside. Got out of work and just as promised… 5 pm Chip came to our rescue. They worked around our schedule. He tried to fix the AC by swapping out a worn out part but the machine wouldn’t budge. Chip tried again with a higher quality part but the AC was shot. This unit was 12 years 1 month old…
Solution = we needed a new unit. After figuring out the finances Victor and his grown son soon arrived to do the install. They know their skill!!! These guys gave it their all to get us (including our dog) comfortable today… they left @ around 9:45 pm. PROMPT and PROFESSIONAL… These men live up the their company’s name.
AC is a necessity in TX not a luxury, get some from these guys if yours is broken.

Our AC warranty was about to expire on our five year old home, and we thought we should have it looked at. The company who was supposed to do the warranty work for our builder (Horizon) wanted an enormous sum just to come out, and said that even though they were supposed to provide the labor free, would not reimburse us if something in fact was wrong which they had to fix. Instead I found First Class Heat and Air through a Val-​Pak coupon and they came out for a very reasonable sum. Thankfully, all was good with our system. Meanwhile, 1^st Class was… well…1^st class! They were efficient and polite, and they explained a lot about our system to us. I can’t give them enough stars! Thank you, First Class!

I think this company does a good job on fixing AC problem, but I question their pricing.
I used them to fixed common AC problem, but just this past week, my AC completely stop working and determine by 1^st Class Air technician to be unrepairable. I agree with the diagnosis, because it’s a very old unit and replacement was overdue. I got a free estimate, which was $ 7,400 for a new AC Unit with gas furnace (Rheem 3-​ton, 13 seers)…Naturally, I thought it was over priced and told them I will think about it. After doing some research, I found the average cost for this AC unit is around $ 2,000 to $ 2,500 range. So this tells me they charging $ 5,000 for labor and other fees…
I was able to find a much better AC Unit (Rheem 4-​ton) with installation by skill technician for $ 4000. I’m so happy with my new unit and glad I went with a different company…
Anyway, to make the long story short, this company is OK for simple repair, but look somewhere else if you need to replace your AC unit…

After trying 3 different companies before this one, they were the first to get the job done right. Friendly, straight shooting, no BS. My A/​C never worked quite right since my house was built. These guys fixed that and more.

BEWARE they should really be called LAST CHOICE HEAT AND AIR — It was a Sunday and I was just happy to find someone to come out and take a look at the unit. I was about 90% sure it was the fan blower motor. They quoted $ 400 over the phone and confirmed they had the part. When they showed up they wanted 700 dollars because the bolts were rusty and it would be «more difficult to remove the fan and require extra labor» of course when I tried to call the company back Randy was no where to be found as he didn’t want to be held accountable for the price he quoted over the phone. This company just wants to handle the EASY JOBS and charge you top dollar for a simple fix so they can price guage you and get on to the next job… Frustrated and HOT — I told them to go ahead and fix it even though they were ripping me off, the technician said it was getting late and his boss Randy told him it would take too much time tonight to fix and he had to get off to 1 other job that evening that would be much quicker and obviously easier! I had a check in hand to pay their absurd prices and they chose to DRIVE OFF to an EASIER JOB and leave my family and 2 little girls in the heat of 93 in the house — TO PURSUE A QUICKER BUCK!!! THEY CHOSE THE EASIER JOB WITH THE EASIER REVENUE, STAY FAR AWAY, or you will be overcharged or end up in a HOTEL for the night like i did! The same job on Monday cost me $ 175 — EVEN if its Sunday dont call this company!
