I’ll say it again, Howard is the real deal! Since my first review, I’ve been back to see Howard a handful of times and love this shop! After I articulate the issue, Howard has been able to diagnose on the spot. He or his guys show me what is happening with my vehicle, so I’m not blindly taking their word for it. The shop is clean and they’re efficient and I’m not charged an arm and a leg for services. I don’t mind waiting while my oil is changed. Great customer service, no BS and they get the job done. Howard and his guys are the best in town!

I Called for a quote on a 60,000 mile service on my GLK 350, + a new battery. Was quoted between $ 250 — $ 325 for the service, and $ 180 — $ 275 for the battery.
Fine, dropped my vehicle off in the morning and received a call later that day that the brake fluid needed to be flushed and the spark plugs needed to be replaced — part of the 60,000 mile service, but not included in the quote? And incidentally, there’s an oil leak and the rear break pads will need to be replaced within the next thousand miles.
I OK’d the additional work, and now I’m at roughly $ 1500. No one said owning a Mercedes is cheap, and I prefer that my wife is safe while driving the vehicle.
Get a call the next day that they had trouble starting the vehicle, and that the battery won’t hold a charge. Really? I mentioned that when I called — and I assumed that was included in the price I was quoted the previous day. But it wasn’t — it’s an additional $ 271.00.
That’s not to say that this is a terrible auto shop — my first visit here was to replace a bulb, and they did it for free. The waiting area is nice — clean, quiet, with coffee and pastries. They’ll also offer you a ride to work or home if it’s close to their shop, although that’s fairly standard nowadays.
However, the wildly inaccurate quote. The check engine light lighting up the next day. The dent in my hood like someone wasn’t careful closing it. And really — discovering by accident one of the issues that I specifically mentioned.
I’m taking my business elsewhere.

I’m new in Texas and I pick this garage because the reviews and also because they are specialized in European cars, my 325 had lot of small details (liking oil, arms bush, plus others that i even knew about) Howard and Jeff are great they did the a complete review of the car, and give me a fair estimate with a new customer discount. And they delivered a excellent service! I couldn’t be happier they even tested my car and found other issues that they fixed without charging me the labor. They also do all type of cars. I’m sold I’ll not take my cars any other place as long I stay in Texas and I’ll recommend their garage to anyone I know they have a need of a Mecanic. You can’t go wrong here

This is the only shop I will ever take my BMW to for service and especially for repairs! I have had 2 major repairs in the last year and Jeff & his team are always spot on with their recommendations and service. I definitely trust their guidance and repairs to be right the first time. My only regret is that I did not discover Autobahn Service Center years ago!

Took my Mercedes in for brake service. Found rotors were warped. Called for parts and I was leaving in just three hours. Facility was very clean. I worked with Howard. He and his staff were all very professional.

Went in for repairs on a part that was not fixed by another company properly! Not only did they fix the mistake, but they also topped off all fluids, changed my oil and repaired a few other things that needed to be done! Fast, and excellent service! I appreciate these guys, honest and quality work!

Brought my hubby’s car here a couple months ago and forgot to review, but these guys deserve these 5 stars!
Called and spoke to Howard about my husband’s car. Making a noise, sounded like a belt (plus the car was acting kinda funny) + needed an oil change. Brought the car in and they offered to drive me home since otherwise I would be stuck for a half day. They called a couple hours later with some bad news that we had an oil leak — it wasn’t super bad, but it’s something we should have addressed sooner rather than later. They offered the options to fix it and gave us a time frame to watch it if we couldn’t do it immediately. Since it was in the shop, we just got everything fixed. On top of that, my husband needed new tires and since Howard didn’t have any in stock to fit my husband’s car he recommended we call a buddy of his at a tire shop who would take care of us. That’s awesome customer service.
When all was said and done, we had a reasonable bill, excellent customer service and the car has been perfect ever since (going on ~4 months now) so I will definitely be bringing the car back. Plus, one of the guys at Autobahn complimented my husband on his car (it’s in immaculate condition even though it’s 5 years old and has a great color combo), which I think is the equivalent of us women saying someone likes our outfit, so that was major points in his book :)
Honest service and reasonable pricing. Specialize in luxury imports so we will be back!

Just took my Elantra in today 10÷15÷15. No appointment needed. Jeff and Howard are easy-​going but professional. Addressed my problem right away. Fixed the battery cables, charged my dead battery, and even washed the car at no extra charge. They quoted me $ 100, but only ended up charging me $ 45. These guys are too honest. A real-​deal, old-​school body shop in 2015. Best mechanic I’ve ever used, *period.*

Just moved to town and hadn’t found a shop yet, but after yesterday’s visit to Autobahn I can’t imagine why I’d go anywhere else. I called last minute after work and Howard offered to take a look at my ’06 325 but was clear that, because of how late it was, they might be able to fix it that night. Turns out they had everything they needed there! Really appreciated the straight forward run down about what was wrong and the price to fix was more than fair.
Just sitting in the waiting room you get a sense of the place as Howard and Jeff greet customers by name and I’ve never seen so many smiling customers in an auto shop. Such a relief to have found a shop I can trust.

Don’t let the number of luxury cars in for service scare you. In addition to Mercedes and Lexus, they work on regular people’s cars and do expert repairs at a reasonable price. I had some work done on my Camry a few years ago. They accurately troubleshot an emissions system problem and fixed it right the first time. Still works well after 5 years. Who keeps a car for 5 years in Plano, Texas? I do. Recommended Autohaus to my son, who brought his car in. Their suggested service came at a reasonable price.

What a great experience I had this week going to AutoBahn for the first time. I have a high end Mercedes that has been giving me problems and I wasn’t satisfied with current foreign car auto mechanic. So when I started having the same problems come back with my car I knew I needed to find a new auto repair shop.
I started reading all the auto repair reviews on Unilocal.After my research, I decided to go give Autobahn a try and I’m very happy I did. Similar to the other reviews, Howard answered the phone when I called the shop and he was great to work with and listened to my issues. I found him to be a straight talking customer services oriented shop owner. So I scheduled my visit and as promised I had a ride to work ready when I arrived that morning. An auto mechanic shop providing a shuttle to work is a very nice benefit that you don’t get at a lot of shops. And I appreciated not having the stress of trying to figure out drop off and pick up (like my previous mechanic).
Howard fixed the problem I had been having issues over the past two months and several trips to my previous auto mechanic. When I picked up my car it was sitting there and freshly washed looking like a new car (and it’s 7 years old).
It really feels great to have found an excellent foreign car auto mechanic. Now I have a place to take my BMW and Mercedes. As we all know, finding a good auto repair shop (for a foreign cars) isn’t easy. Thank you, Howard.

MAYBE More Like a 3.5 Star Rating place.
I struggle in deciding how I should rate this place. Time to break away from over-​priced local Land Rover dealership to service our 2010 Land Rover LR2. However, I felt a bit awkward at this business. It seems like I must accept the complete BLIND TRUST of this business to take care of our car WITHOUT the need to explained what is the detailed status of our car except that your car is ready and good to go. Maybe I feel more at ease at a place where I am use to a service center inspecting different parts of our car while recommended fluid and parts replacement are done base on Land Rover’s guidelines and then disclosing in details the status of our car, including what may need to be change, lubricated, or fixed and how soon. For example, at our 45,5 to 50K interval service maintenance, the status of the Land Rover brake system was not explained to us in details except it is good. Other service centers usually explain how much brake pads left, the condition of the rotor/​disc, and what parts of the braking system passed inspection, including parking brake, brake wheel cylinder, brake lines & hoses, and etc. Also, what should I watch out for until the next service interval maintenance. Maybe I am too detail oriented and believe trust needs to be earned. Therefore, I think Autobahn Service Center is a good business, and they practice traditional professionalism versus modern customer service oriented professionalism.

How do you know an auto shop wants your business?
On small things you don’t charge (like our tire patch), you admit your mistakes (on another occasion they corrected a problem on their own dime — something that you’d typically have to dispute others on, based on our experience), you clean and wash the car after every significant job (only a full detail job would be better), and they treat you right (how about a bottle of wine at Christmas — from one of the WORKERS who had extra! — entirely coincidental, but shows Everyone there is happy you give them business).
For a shop whose name suggests they specialize in high-​end cars, they handle all vehicles competently and their rates for work are not at a premium as you might expect or assume from the name.
Our Recommendation — Do Not Go To Autobahn!
You’ll be too happy, you’ll tell your friends and neighbors and so on… Autobahn will become so popular we won’t be able to get our vehicles in.
So, Please, Please… leave them as the best kept automotive service center secret in Plano, if not DFW. ;)

Great auto shop! I’m a girl so it’s hard to find one where you don’t feel like your being tricked into paying more money. This place is nothing like that. Nice clean waiting around with complimentary cold beverages and they are very quick. Definitely will be coming back!

Great quality and honest service. I trust very few car mechanic shops and I would not take my BMW anywhere else before bringing it here. They don’t attempt to sell you more services than what you need, and every time I’ve gone my car is vacuumed & washed, always looking better than when I bring it in. I will continue to bring my car here.

Wish they had the same exact branch, customer service, friendly people and all in San Diego (CA). I wish I had known about them sooner as well. Dallas, you need to Unilocal more because this Cali girl relies on your comments.
That said, love this place. They really do treat you well and their service is affordable. Very accommodating and while professional, also very welcoming and friendly. They even provide a complimentary transportation to and from. My driver was the sweetest! Very friendly, easy to talk to and super cool! Service was above and beyond what I had expected and when I got my car back, it was washed, dried, vacuumed — and get this, you ready? My tires were dressed and shined as well! Amazing. BMW Service center doesn’t even do that! I got invited back to just hang out even. Seriously — doesn’t get any better than this. Thank you guys!
Please open more branches and please open them extending all the way to San Diego. Thank you!

This is a GEM!
I have a Volkswagon that broke down at my parents house in east Plano. I called a few places in east Plano and all the mechanics told me the same thing… Take the car to Autobahn, they’re the best. I couldn’t believe that I had 4 different mechanics TURN AWAY my business to recommend Autobahn for my German trouble maker.
I called Autobahn and was greeted by Howard whom, I got to know pretty well after a few phone calls (when I called he’d answer, «Well hello Marissa» Yes I know he has caller ID but I think it was really nice)
Howard had my car towed by Big Bass tow who had the BEST TOW PRICES EVER! Plus the guys from Big Bass has the nicest tow trucks and seemed the most knowledgeable of all the tow truck drivers Ive ever met… and Ive met ALOT.
Autobahn didn’t charge me for the diagnostics which was a HUGE savings because the dealership charges 115.00 JUST to look at the thing.
I wish I had met Howard years ago. He was great. He taught me all about my car and never made me feel stupid, uncomfortable or scared about receiving a HUGE bill. Of all the German mechanics Ive worked with Howard’s shop is the BEST.
Since my visit at Autobahn I decided to sell my car and really had no idea how to do it or what it was worth. So I called Howard :) He gave me a few pointers some pricing suggestions and I sold the car quickly. Thanks again!
Oh and BTW they do work on all types of cars they just specialize in German.
Do yourself a favor and call Autobahn!
