I had several contractors come out and give a quote for removing the old porch and sidewalk at my home and replacing them along with a new sidewalk leading down the front of the house to the public sidewalk. BCP’s price was inline with the the other bids but my ultimate decision was made because Dean Harris the Senior Account Manager was so professional and straightforward with his recommendations. On the first day of the job, Dean was there to make sure that everything was going according to the design and was in touch with updates through the whole process. I also impressed that the owner, Brent actually took the time out to show up the first day and speak with me and go over the process. The workers that are employed by BCP doing the actual concrete work are the best I have ever seen. They are above reproach with their knowledge and precision of work they do. Overall, I would highly recommend BCP for any concrete work. If it was possible to give a rating of above 5 stars I would. It is very hard to find honest contractors that do what they say this day and age. Some that I have dealt with just seemed to go through the motions like they really just don’t want the work because it may be a small job. It was refreshing to deal with a company with high integrity and that is BCP is all about.

Bret and BCP concrete is the best I have worked with. I had BCP do a ton of concrete and demo work and could not be more pleased with the results and pricing.
Plus, Bret stands behind his work 100%. My concrete BBQ top was not setting correctly because of the summer heat and he ripped it out and started all over again. Took full responsibility to correct it.

I’m a General Contractor in the Bay Area and I highly recommend BCP Concrete. Bret has gone out of his way to make sure he has finished every project ahead of schedule. He gets me estimates ASAP and every project he has done for me has been 5 star work. Bret is a responsible contractor and now in days its hard to fine contractors like Bret. When looking for a concrete contractor BCP concrete is the way to go. I would not use anyone else but BCP Concrete.

Using BCP was a really slow, arduous experience. The result in the end looks fine, but the follow through, the attention to detail on the first try of each phase and the difficulty coordinating in a timely with others will make me not use them again. Maybe you could avoid this if you don’t need coordination (with the pool contractor), if your job is close to their pleasanton HQ (mine was in Marin) or if you are doing something that only takes one step. Bret is a nice man and will make things right eventually– like one section of concrete not matching another they poured a couple of weeks earlier-​, but it is shocking they can stay in business with the lacking of attention to detail and the errors on each step of the job. They may just be taking on too much business now with their good Unilocal reviews to do a good job in a timely fashion.

After being scammed by a «contractor» who was going to replace our driveway (they removed the old concrete, but then abandoned the job leaving tools behind but just disappeared), we carefully researched to find a responsible contractor to do the job (We should have done that before, of course). We chose BCP and could not be more satisfied. Bret came to give us an estimate and carefully explained the reasoning behind everything he suggested doing. Although he had commitments for many weeks in the future, he realized we really needed our driveway replaced ASAP, and said he could fit us in since it wasn’t a big job. Communication was excellent so we knew exactly what was going to be done and when it would be done. We were impressed by the work of the crew – they obviously really know their trade and did excellent work. Their price was competitive, and they were a pleasure to deal with. We highly recommend them, and would certainly choose them again if we were to have concrete work done.

All I can say is FINALLY a contractor that does what they say they are going to do! A contractor that actually shows up for the estimate on time AND completes the work on time! They did such a beautiful job on our driveway extension with stamped concrete to match our existing flagstone. We are more than impressed with the entire crew as well as the office manager. BCP is FIVE stars all way!

Just had these guys put in two rv strips in our front yard and the process was great! Owner came out to see the project within 2 days of our initial cal. Got an emailed estimatr within 2 days if the visit. Clear communication with Genia in the office (even when I failed to send back a contract on time. And she called to remind me to sent it) work was scheduled within a week of the original estimate. The guys showed up as promised and started the work without issue even though my car was parked where it would have been most convient for them to park. The guys were quick, efficient, seemed to work together well and enjoy their jobs and each other, and the whole project was done and the area cleaned up the same day. They even give you handouts of information on how to care for the concrete and the dos and donts for the first few days. Overall, it was a great experience and I’d hire them for future jobs as well.

For any of your concrete needs, you don’t need to look anywhere else. Brett and his crew are the best! We had an entire half of our concrete pool decking replaced, and the results were amazing! You cannot even see the difference between the old and new concrete. The workmanship and cleanup that they did is top notch. I highly recommend Brett and his crew for any of your concrete work.

We recently needed to have a major portion of our swimming pool deck replaced. I contacted BCP and set up an appointment for Bret to come look at what needed to be done. He showed up early (great!), emailed us an estimate the next day. We gave him the «go ahead». His Bret and his crew showed up at 7:30 am on the start date. We review the work to be done and away they went. Project was done a day ahead of original estimate. The new concrete was an excellent match with the existing, the crew was very professional & hard working. They cleaned up every day and were very careful to not damage any planting areas, gates or fences. Bret showed up through out the project and was very accessible when I had questions. He would call back promptly whenever I left a message. They did a first class job ahead of time and were a real pleasure to work with!!! I would recommend Bret and his company to anyone needing concrete work.

Bret is straight forward and honest. He worked with us on the design and helped us select materials and colors that achieved the look we wanted. His crews were very professional. They did a fantastic job on our patio, patio benches, brick work and pool coping. Bret also worked well with our pool contractor. Best if all, while we had plenty of schedule time, we had a firm deadline, and Bret completed the entire project on time and on budget. We love our new patio.

This is the first review we have ever done… we had to express our experience, as it has been the best of all remodels/​projects we have had in the 31 years living at the same residence. Brett and his crew were unbelievable to work with. This was a difficult project as there was not an easy access to our pool area to remove the old concrete, take out yards and yards of dirt and lay a new huge paver decking. Brett has always returned calls promptly or came to the job site if there were any concerns or questions.,
Genia who heads up the office calls/​emails/​project details etc… is the best! She always let us know when to expect the crew and was able to relay messages immediately.
The finish project is amazing! We sit out on our new deck by our remodeled pool and just admire what turned out to be exactly what we had hoped for, if not better!
We would use BCP again without question, as well as obviously recommend them!!!

I have had the pleasure of working with BCP Concrete on a number of occasions. It started when my neighbors’ huge tree lifted up the concrete near my pool equipment some years ago, Bret came out and gave me an estimate and did a professional job. Since then I have used them for a number of small jobs, but since their minimum was $ 1,500, I was able to combine it with other work so as to maximize the cost. What I like was that they were able to do a good match of the existing concrete so that it did not look like a patch job.
When our neighborhood had sidewalk problems, we had to get estimates, BCP was not the lowest so the neighborhood chose another firm, that firm used cement that was almost white, now all the sidewalk patches stand out like sore thumbs and some of the patches are breaking apart.
I have never had any problem with the work done by BCP and would definitely use them again!

5 Star across the board. Don’t think your getting some guy in a pickup with a shovel and a few day laborers. Big man power, Big equipment, Professional, Clean, Courteous, And more than competitive on his price. Had a retaining wall, redwood fence, concrete patio, and a step repair all done as advertised, In & Out. I definitely recommend this company for any job.

Top notch crew. I spoke with Brett, the owner, on a Friday. Brett and the crew showed up on Monday and did all the lay out for a 3 feet concrete broom finished perimeter around a Grecian pool. Concrete was poured the next day. The building inspector approved the job without any issues.
They cleaned up after themselves. In addition, BCP repaired a hole in the corner wall and sealed it with concrete.
I would definitely recommend this crew.

We just finished a driveway and pool with BCP Concrete. They do both brick work and concrete work, so we were able to use them for both jobs. Brett MacDonald over saw the entire project, was totally responsive and took full responsibility for the project. They worked hard, even on Saturday’s, to get the job done. The brick work is beautiful and incorporated right into my existing patio. There were some things not in the quote that should have been, and without question Brett took care of it at his expense. BCP may not be the cheapest out there, but you will get top notch service with a professional, timely, responsive crew. Your project will be perfect when it is done. Go with BCP!

These guys are amazing. We just hired BCP for a concrete job around our pool that required a ton of concrete as well as some very detailed work in paver stone cutting and installation — the crew had to match, order and then cut heavy paver stones to look the same as the existing tiles around our curved pool edge.
Their work exceeded our expectations — the finesse work they did with shaping the stone is incredible. They’ve made our pool look absolutely amazing. The crew worked very efficiently, cleaned up impeccably after the very dusty job, and when they left, it was like they were never there (except that our pool now looks fantastic!).
We worked with Bret Macdonald, the company’s owner, who set up the job and gave us a very fair price. He also showed up on both days of the project to make sure we were taken care of and to oversee the job.
