Established in 1990.

After finishing college at Chico State I started the business out of my mothers garage here in Pleasanton. We have been in continuous operation ever since. Jeff DeBernardi is the owner and president of DeBernardi Development Construction and Remodeling. He started his company out of college in 1990, and has been going strong since then. I’ve worked with Jeff and his staff for years.
As the owner of Diablo Flooring I am fortunate to have built many solid business relationships through the years one of which is with Jeff Debenardi and team. We have worked on many projects together all running smooth and on-​time. If your looking for an honest and solid construction company this is the place.

Jeff DeBernardi and crew remodeled our kitchen, family room, and dining area in 2005. Having been through this before in other properties, we expected the worst. Wow, what a difference a great contractor can make! The construction moved along at a good steady pace. Problems were encountered (as always with remodel) and Jeff engaged these with full disclosure, providing options and cost analysis for solving them. His crew was extremely professional and kept a clean work place that was important to us because three family members and two dogs lived through the 5 month construction.
The result was (and is) spectacular. His follow up was excellent.
We have used DeBernardi Development since then on a couple of small items. They are great as usual. I have no hesitation to recommend Jeff and crew.

So being the first to write a review on Unilocal I find it only fitting to write an update.
Before I do I want to say what other contractor gets alllll 5 star reviews? None, so hire DeBernardi.
Today Jeff and his crew saved us! I called Jeff (mind you while he was on his way out of town!) for a last minute favor and he pulled it off!!! What other company offers such great service! I had a lad minute emergency jib that needed to be done (and was time sensitive) and his crew did it!

I have used Jeff for several home repair jobs in the last 15 years. He is on time for appointments. He calls back when he says he will. Those two things already distinguish him from most contractors I have encountered. He provides a detailed explanation and proposal. He is knowledgeable about what is being done, so he covers the bases in his proposal and does not end up increasing the scope of work and increasing the bill. These characteristics seem pretty basic as an expectation, but many contractors don’t have the characteristics. His workers are on time, know what they are doing, clean up the job site, are respectful of a homeowner’s concerns, etc. With all those good characteristics, you would think that the price would be higher than the competition, but Jeff’s price quotes are usually either similar to the competition or even lower. If I ask Jeff about a particular type of work and he does not do it, he will refer me to someone reliable who can do it, and those people have always worked out for me too. So Jeff is the person that I call first.

I used Jeff and his crew for a small remodel several years ago. As soon as they arrived I could tell we were in for a smooth ride. Jeff showed up himself the first day and periodically throughout the project to assure things we on track. They moved quickly and were very prompt and clean. We liked the work they were doing so much that we began to add things to the project! They handled every request professionally and we were thrilled with the results. We are currently planning the next project and we will absolutely hire Jeff again when the time comes. I have recommended him without hesitation to others and can’t say enough about how pleased with any work you hire Jeff and his crew to do!
