Fusion 3 Salon

After having them mess up my hair twice, i gave them another chance. Third times the charm right? After my first two sessions with Tiffany, I did not want to step back into that salon ever. My third session was with Ray. She was really nice and actually took her time with my hair. She made sure I was okay with my hair before moving on. She gave me time to look at my hair and play around with my hair before moving on. After looking at the end results, I didn’t like how light the strands in front of my face were and she said that it was no problem and was happy to fix it for me. This salon goes above and beyond when it comes to the customers. The hair stylists however are a hit and miss. Though my hair didn’t turn out EXACTLY how I wanted it, it’s okay because the reality is, there’s no way it would look exactly like the picture but I guess it’s fine. I don’t totally LOVE my hair but it’ll do.

This is an Aveda salon. And for those who know Aveda, they know Aveda has the BEST tea ever! Bought some loose-​leaf tea and went in without an appointment to get my eyebrows and lip waxed. Despite being busy, one of the nice artists took me in between her appointments.

This evening Kristen took the time to fix my hair after a horrendous haircut I had at another store earlier in the day. She took the time to figure out what needed to be fixed (mainly uneven length issues), even everything out completely and also take off a lot of the weight from my super thick hair. All with a totally upbeat and friendly attitude. I think she even may have stayed late just to squeeze me in! She was also able to recommend a stylist for my 2-​year-​old and a process for caring for hair before/​after swimming. Thank you Kristen — I will be back!

Expensive and poor quality. Last time I was there I paid $ 75 for a 20 minute trim that was quite uneven and had to be redone in a week

I’ve been a client at fusion 3 salon for several years now, and i am always thrilled with the results. While Tiffany is my regular stylist for both cut and color, other stylists have also provided amazing services to me andy family.
The environment and all of the stylists are warm, friendly and completely professional. I have never-​and I mean never, ever– left there dissatisfied. I am often asked where i get my hair done… and am so happy to refer people Fusion 3.
Kudos to the team work and the skill set of the entire staff!

I used to see Karen here all the time, and she was awesome! Unfortunately she has moved away and every time I am visiting the bay area I don’t have a stylist to see.
I thought I would see somebody new for my first ever Brazilian blowout based on whoever the staff recommended.
I was scheduled to see a stylist, who I will leave unnamed, she was nice but did a horrible job on the brazilian blowout. I was told by a friend that the service should take anywhere from 2 — 2.5 hours (maybe even longer if you have long and thick hair — which I do!) She was done with my blow out in an hour and 15 mins! And didn’t explain to me proper care taking instructions for my hair once I got home! My hair was the same for the following few days. No smoothness, no nothing. I was like, wth?! did I just pay $ 300 to have my hair straightened?
I hate complaining to hair salons, but this was just ridiculous. So I called back and the staff at Fusion 3 were really accommodating and set me up with a consult and then an appt shortly after that with Tiffany — who was awesome.
She was so sweet, and really took her time to explain to me how the Brazilian Blow out works and she even manged to figure out what the previous stylist did wrong. She really took her time for me and ever since she did it, my hair has been picture perfect ²⁴⁄₇. I love this treatment and will always return to Tiffany for it when I am in the Bay!

Molly always takes care of me and takes her time with my hair. I usually don’t have a specific color or style I want and I let her get creative and I’m always obsessed when she’s done! If you’re looking for a stylist who pays attention to detail, highly recommend this salon and this stylist!

Awesome customer service! I just went in on Friday to check out the salon and wow! The receptionist was very genuine in answering all my questions and told me about their salon and what makes them special. It’s really nice to walk into a place and just feel welcome! Thanks ladies!

Oh lord, just go! They are awesome. I have had my hair colored by a few different people, but Ray is my favorite! She has a perfect eye for blonde, and can help you achieve everything you need. She is amazing! She has also been there for 10 years and can do everything!
I am extremely picky and literally never find the perfect shade of blonde, but with Ray you totally can. If I didn’t move I would still be going, and plan on going whenever I visit!
Extra bonus for the salon itself is that they have crazy hours, as in they work a lot, so there is always a time that will work with your schedule!

Two words: Kristen Milam. I had the most difficult time finding the right person to cut my hair. My hair is rather fair, so unfortunately, it would get cut unevenly. Not with Kristen! My mom used to be a hairdresser, so I always go to her to double check the evenness. She was pleasantly surprised to find my hair cut nicely. Also, I personally find the whole talking while getting your hair done kinda awkward, but Kristen is funny and very real so it’s not so bad. I love getting my hair cut here. I don’t feel pressured to buy anything, but I know what the products are if I wanted to buy something. I love the ambiance here. It’s relaxing, fun, and even comes with complimentary coffee. What’s not to like? I have an appointment on Saturday, so I’ll probably ask her to do my hair for my wedding then. :) The worst part of this review is that Kristen is so great that I know people will want to go to her for haircuts now after reading this (or should), and as a result, she may have less availability. However … THE Unilocal WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW! Haha. Thanks Kristen and Fusion 3 Salon!

AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR HAIR EXTENSIONS!
Worst experience ever. I wanted hair extensions so my hair could look nice for a wedding I was attending. My short shoulder length hair did not look cute with a one shoulder dress. I set up a consultation to with Molly to see what could be done for my hair.
Molly played with my hair and told me my two options. We agreed on the tape in extensions that are $ 80 per bundle and she told me I would need two or maybe three bundles.
The next day, I came to get the service done. Before starting, Molly informed me that she did not realize my hair was so thick and I will need four bundles… Umm. You didn’t realize that during the consultation? She brought over a coworker who had tape ins on and I should have known from that moment that they didn’t know what they were doing, but Molly said hers looked like crap because her hair was dirty, and I unfortunately believed it.
After finishing up, my hair looked horrible. You could look at it and know that it wasn’t my hair. It did not blend with my hair at all. Molly told me that I’m going to have to wear my hair curly/​wavy all the time to make it blend. I HATE CURLY/​WAVY HAIR. She curled it and it looked okay for a minute, but in the car I noticed how horrible it actually was.
$ 537 DOWN THE DRAIN. I feel so ripped off. It wouldn’t have been an issue if she did a great job, but it just looked stupid. A six year old could have done the same pitiful job.
I had to buy clip in hair extensions from another place for $ 150 to fill all the gaps and make it look decent. Then, another $ 50 for a haircut to blend it all. After spending $ 737, my hair looked ALRIGHT.
I only wore the clip ins for the wedding and that was it. I took out the tape ins that Molly did with the help of a friend. I didn’t want to go back to Fusion 3 to have them taken out because I would have lost my temper being around the people who completely screwed me. I made the worst decision of my life by going to this salon thinking they knew what they were doing. I wasted so much money and time. Never again!

Everyone who works here has consistently given my über high-​maintenance hair excellent service! Debra recently gave me the best haircut of my life! I only come here now.

Alicia is a LIFESAVER. My hair was so damaged, my previous stylist failed at giving me an ombré (I had virgin hair before). It was long, dry & brittle… absolutely horrible. Alicia created a masterpiece! I felt like a princess getting my hair massaged as well as a hand massage. The girls there are extremely nice as well. I continuously keep receiving compliments on my hair. I recommend Alicia for any type of cut and color, she is the best!!!

Love this salon. I’ve been coming here for over 15 years. I’ve tried many different stylists from New Talent to the most experienced and found them all very well trained. In the rare exception (2 or 3 times in all the years going) when I wasn’t happy, a senior stylist stepped in and redid my hair to my complete satisfaction. I’ve had many women ask me who did my hair because they love my highlights. Stylists in other cities have also complemented me on my hair. You can’t go wrong here.

I’ve always gotten great service and great hair results at Fusion 3.

I have been going to Fusion 3 salon for 3 years and in that course spent near $ 2500 (approximate guess considering I get my hair done on average every 2 months and my average bill is $ 200 including tip). Also not to mention the numerous referrals I have sent there way. I won’t lie and say there haven’t been times when I walked out feeling happy about my hair that I paid a pretty mint for, but there’s been the equal number of times I’ve walked out feeling I got ripped off.
That being said, One fine Wednesday morning I had to cancel my hair appointment because I was stuck at the airport on my way back from Vegas. My luggage which held my house and car keys, was left back courtesy of Southwest Airlines. Not to mention I lost my debit card (it was my birthday weekend, good times). So needless to say I had to call and reschedule my appointment for the following week on Saturday morning.
Fast forward to next week. Friday night I went out to Karma Fusion Lounge (I’ve written a review for them as well) for my birthday. Basically my clutch which I had my other credit card and car/​house keys along with other personal stuff got stolen in the midst of a fight that broke out. Birthday luck. So once again I have to cancel my appointment on Saturday morning. Because of this, they put me on probation making it mandatory for me to provide my credit card number at the time of booking an appointment. I get it being policy and all but just rude especially after having paid that type of patronage. Even then I continued to come here.
The last straw was when I came in for a color and cut a couple days ago and walked out with the messiest haircut I’ve ever in my life– no exaggeration. I asked her to texture the ends to give it a lighter feel, not make it look like a shaggy dog. Especially after having seen the same stylist for over 2 years and paying $ 75 for a haircut you would expect a little more attention and care to what’s being done than a 15 min haircut that looks like a nightmare., What irritates me the most is I spent the last 9 months growing my hair only to be be even further behind than I started. Some people never learn, guess I’m one of them, but never again. Anyone have a hairdresser they would like to recommend I’m all ears.

When I moved to Pleasanton in 2011, I went to three different salons downtown until finally finding a match here at Fusion 3. It’s not that I’m picky, but it’s actually hard to find a great salon where men can feel comfortable, welcome, and get a good haircut. Men’s cuts can in some ways be quite challenging, as the short length provides less margin for error.
I would say this review is therefore more about my stylist, Lindsay C, than the salon itself. Although the professionalism of the other employees exudes from the moment you walk in the door. Always promptly greeted by name and offered a beverage. Great job with emphasizing customer service here!
Lindsay C has been cutting my hair about one year and I am consistently satisfied and impressed. It’s not that she is just an expert with men’s hair, it’s that she can take a guy thing like, «well I don’t know, just cut it and i want to to look good» and turn that into a fantastic finished product. She is very in tune with what looks good on men and has never disappointed. Additionaly, she has the energy to be outgoing, friendly, and funny even after her 10^th appointment of the day. Thanks Lindsay!
The only downside to this salon is the price. I can’t say I enjoy, or admit how much it is, but as a professional the consistency and scheduling convenience are paramount. Online scheduling is a fantastic option and should be standard with salons these days.
I would like to see some sort of loyal customer reward, maybe a discount or promotion for regulars.

This Hair Salon is located in a really cutesy downtown area of Pleasanton. One con about this location was that there was no parking lot. Street Parking only, which wasn’t too hard to find but it was just difficult with a mommy van.
I was really happy when I walked in the salon because I immediately saw that they used Aveda products which is the brand I use for all my skin/​hair needs. I had Alyson for a hairdresser. She was really awesome! I had a haircut/​deep conditioning coupon from livingsocial. The appointment started off with a complimentary scalp massage which a choice of 3 different oils. Then onto the wash with the deep conditioning. My hair feels considerably softer! While the conditioner set in, I got a hand massage. Sigh. It’s nice to relax. Alyson said that it was the chairs that were the source. It was a pretty darn comfy chair.
I was SUPER overdue for a haircut. I told Alyson what cut I wanted: short, asymmetrical, and a-​line, and that’s what she gave me. Really friendly, which I think makes a difference because haircuts take a good hour+.
Overall, great Customer Service despite the receptionist being a but curt with us in the beginning when dealing with the livingsocial voucher code. We got free coffee, sugar cookies, and a water bottle! That’s a first at a salon. I will be back to use the $ 10 off coupon I received. I love haircuts! :)
