Hacienda Pools

Awesome Support! Need more stars! Hacienda installed my pool a dozen years ago and I’ve been very happy with the design, quality and professionalism. Recently, due to some ground movement, I had a slow leak as detected by American Leak Detection. I decided to call Rick just to get his opinion on repair work. Amazing response. Rick personally showed up to assess the situation, coordinated all the repair work until it was completed, and followed up just about every day during and after to make sure I was happy. Wonderful support even twelve years+ later. The emphasis on honesty and customer satisfaction was great during the original build and still great many years later.

Just got a call from Hacienda Pools and they informed me that they do not install pools in Hayward. It funny how they can install in Castro Valley which is just 5 minutes away from where I live. Location! Location! Location!

I don’t live in the area but by a referral I hired Rick at Hacienda Pools to resurface my entire pool interior. He and his team are fantastic! Never a worry or problem! In fact he went above and beyond to help me because I wasn’t in the area for the project. He volunteered to do things he did not have to. Very highly recommend Hacienda Pools! They are a 10 out of 10 in my book! And, the pool is BEAUTIFUL! Looks better than ever!

I would give Rick 10 stars if I could. We just moved into a new home June 2013 and the pool and spa had a crack in the coping at the top (we have a pebble tech pool, but they didn’t install tile at the waterline in the last remodel, causing a crack over time). Every time the equipment runs, it leaks water as the spa fills up and spills into the pool. We decided to look into remodeling it. I called at LEAST 15 pool companies. I had 7 – 8 companies out to give me a quote. My pool guy recommended calling Rick because he has seen hundreds of pools, and he said Rick is the only guy who will do the job right. I was a little skeptical, because I use Unilocal a lot to find services, and at the time I called him, he had only one review. But I gave it a try. I see now he has a few more reviews, and I’m not surprised they are all 5 stars.
Hands down, Rick is the ONLY person I would recommend to remodel or install a new pool. He really knows everything there is to know about pools. We had a plan drawn up by a landscape architect, and he made recommendations for moving some things around. We were going to re-​surface the pool with WetEdge, move the pool equipment, and install a BBQ island. He went through every detail with us, and gave us reasons as to why you do this vs. that. He absolutely does everything correctly and by the book. He does NOT cut any corners. If I asked a question, he answered it thoroughly and I understood exactly what he was talking about. All the other companies glazed over my questions, and I had a feeling that once we started the project, there would be issues and surprises. With Rick, he accounts for everything in his bid. There would be NO surprises, which was very important to me. I truly trusted him with this enormous project and knew we would be taken care of. He really establishes a relationship with you and he is a straight shooter.
We were ready to sign the contract in October, and we removed a part of the deck that adjoining the pool to see if we could pour concrete below the coping, or if we were going to keep our deck. This was the last step before finalizing the plan. I called Rick to let him know we removed the deck, and he came over the next day. The minute he looked at the side of the pool, he tapped it with a hammer lightly and the whole thing fell apart. The rebar was exposed and completely rotten. He told me he was pretty sure the entire structure of the pool was compromised, and the rebar is probably rotted out in it’s entirety. He gave me a few options, we could strip the pool and see, but if it was rotted out he would recommend filling it in, or we would need to remove the entire thing and build a brand new pool. If we remodeled it the way it was, we may spend all this $$$ and in an earthquake the pool could crack in half as there is no rebar holding it together. We thought about our decision for a couple of months. We don’t have the funds right now to build a completely new pool, so we decided to leave it as is for now, and enjoy next summer with it, with the leak. We will revisit the project again at the end of next summer. We may end up filling it in, but in the end, we know whatever we do, we will do it correctly because of Rick’s guidance and knowledge.

Great follow up, even after having our pool for 3 years.
Our family threw around the idea getting a pool for a couple of years. Hacienda was one of the companies we contacted. We called them through those years with questions we had and they always got back to us. We decided to go with them because they worked so well with us and they had an outstanding reputation and great ideas. They were always open minded.
Our backyard had some special cases and they handled anything that came up though it took some time out of their schedule. Now I am so happy that I went with them because after 3 years, if anything happens, I call/​email them first and they always reply quickly and contact the person who can help. They also follow up with you and the person to make sure it’s fixed. We have enjoyed our pool so much and the layout, pool cover, works so well with our family.
I can’t believe they are so on top of everything! Very nice people to work with. Rick is very detailed. Samantha, his right hand woman, is thorough and they also manage kids at the same time. Super duo.
I recommend them highly. They do pools well and they are great to get along with which means so much in the middle of a construction project!

Having previously designed and built a pool and backyard in a new build residence, we definitely knew that we didn’t want to cut corners again. We wanted a yard that we loved and could live with the rest of our lives. The yard that Rick Ruzbarsky and Hacienda Pools built us, turned out better than we could have imagined. Rick spent countless hours taking us to numerous pools he’d built to get ideas and compare looks. His resources/​referrals were great and always reliable. He was always truthful with us and we always felt confident in his recommendations and designs. I can’t tell you how happy we are at the completion of our yard and would recommend him to anyone looking to build the yard of their dreams.

Rick and his crew at Hacienda were incredible. They designed and built an amazing pool for us at our home in San Ramon. But they went above and beyond just building a pool, Rick dealt with things that he really did not have to: 1) issues with the city and fence lines 2) warranty issues 3 years later on the solar 3) helping to design our outdoor kitchen and referring top tier contractors for that project.
In general they were a pleasure to do business with and made this very expensive investment worry-​free.
