Ok so I got a call from the office manager (Burly) regarding my Unilocal review about the pricing. Very nice and pleasant lady to talk with. She apologize for the pricing confusion. And said they would honored the price I was quoted for which was $ 275.00. So they will be sending me a check refund if $ 75.00. Will still be a patient here. Dr. Dang is not a bad dr. She’s good at what she does. By the way the front office people are really nice and friendly. I forgot to mention that before!

I’ve been coming here for a little less than a year and haven’t had bad experiences until recently. My mother adores the dermatologist, so she recommended that I try this practice to treat my unresolved skin issues. This was the first and only place to actually get rid of the majority of my skin problems, so props to the prescriptions they use.
My insurance covers acne facials, so I booked one a few months back. Over the course of a few weeks, it was rescheduled, cancelled and rescheduled again. The one person who performs this facial only worked one day a week, apparently, and the office scheduled me on a day she wasn’t in. I finally had my appointment, and I wasn’t impressed — not that this is a spa or anything, but I’ve had better. I scheduled another for the next month, only to have it cancelled the Friday before (appointment was Monday). This was less than a 24 hour notice — and on top of it, I was told that the technician was taken off of the schedule for the next month. The woman on the phone immediately gave me the office manager’s number without me asking — I’m sure she was dealing with a lot of angry patients that day.
I can understand the inner workings of an office, and I guessed that the technician might not have «worked out.» I left a message for the office manager, telling her to add my name to the list of people who were frustrated at the facial service and scheduling. She got back to me and said she’s actively looking to fill the position.
Today, I waited 30 minutes for my morning appointment — only to be seen by the assistant for less than 5 minutes. Now that I think about it, I haven’t had an appointment more than ten minutes before. Typical dermatology, I assume, but still frustrating after booking far ahead and waiting in the lobby for a long time.
Long story short — good products, frustrating scheduling.

I wish 0 stars could be given. I have going going to Minh Dang for almost 10 years. I once respected her very much. My story goes like this: I had Hills Physician for years and since I am a full-​blooded Irish Gal (why my parents got us a pool, no sunscreen ahh the 60’s &70’s) my skin has been through the sun ringer, very damaged. I respected her reputation. I am also a cancer survivor, so of course one will get a lil freaky when a spot shows up on anything. If her compassion and personality were to be judged in the medical field like her field of expertize, I believe she would have no patients at all. In the past, Dr. Dang would say «tsk tsk your skin is so damaged» Like I don’t know that? after the 5^th time I asked her «Please stop saying that, it is not professional» She did stop. She did find something on my chest and removed it, couldn’t see it with the naked eye. I felt safe with her because she puts on these magnifying glasses, has this cool picture/​scope tool. So I loose my insurance yet I paid out of pocket for her to look me over and burn a few uckies off. Now comes O’bama care (the non-​profits schools I worked for never give insurance) and I get insurance. Dr. Dangs office said «We take it» so off I go. I see Dr. Dang, rushed as always, yet I feel confident. I get a bill yet wonder why it doesn’t go thru insurance. I paid it off personally, took my time of course. She wants to see my in 6 months, I go back and get her P.A. A few days later I get a letter, will copy and paste soon, telling me to go away. I am just to poor for her I guess? See when I went to her she has a little office and I believe really cared about peoples skin/​health. Now with the botox and her own skin care line I believe she has simply «Gone Hollywood» I believe she forgot about the core of being a good Dr. If anybody can recommend a good dermo I would be most grateful. I would try to find another dermo for your skin care health, if you want the botox (I will try it soon) I believe this is your place. Peace

If I could give negative stars I would. Not only does Dr. Dang rush through appointments that take months to get, she also prescribed me a topical medication I am allergic to. This is the only medication I have listed as an allergy on my chart, and she prescribed it to me to apply directly to my face. Luckily, I only used the medication a couple times, and complications were minimal, but I would not recommend this doctor. I had to seek a second opinion after the disorganization I experienced in this office.
This visit was back in October 2014, I didn’t get a bill until April 2015. When I called the office to dispute the bill due to the doctor prescribing the one medication I was allergic to, the person I spoke with said they would make note in my file that I did not feel I should have to pay the bill. I felt good, thinking it would be all taken care of. About a month later, I start getting calls from a collections agency! The office actually sent me to collections for a bill they took over 6 months to send to me, after only one notice in the mail. (They blamed the bill delay on my insurance, although I receive all other bills from every other doctor I visit in a very timely manner). When I called to clear it up, they refused, and told me until my balance was paid in full, my name would not be removed from collections.
Overall, very disappointing experience with this office and doctor, and I am seeking legal advice on this matter as well.

It was my first visit and I had to wait 50 minutes to see a doctor, despite having an appointment. Not really a welcoming place to begin with. The fist thing you have to do is pay (that is fast) then the receptionist wasn’t helpful and laughed at me with her colleagues after I had complained about the time it took to see a doctor. I was surprised they wouldn’t make the effort, even with a first time customer, to be more welcoming and warm, as I was sent by my healthcare insurance for a suspicion of skin cancer. I was obviously tense and would have appreciated a bit more empathy and definitely a better and warmer service. The Doctor was nice, she seems busy, but was efficient.

My daughter had an appointment with Dr. Dang for a follow up on a rash she has. Dr. Dang was very rude and abrupt to my daughter. She didn’t even take the time to look at my daughters rash! When my daughter asked for clarification about something Dr. Dang said“I already told you”! Very rude! Not acceptable treatment at a doctors office. If you want a Dr that will take the time to do a thorough job and be kind and explain things Do NOT go to Dr. Dang.

Myself, my husband and kids have been seeing Dr. Dang for 5 years. Between all of us we have been treated for basal cell with MOHs surgery, poison oak, teenage acne, Accutane and regular skin checks. She is very thorough and goes out of her way to make sure we get the best care with her cutting edge technology. I found her to be a very skilled surgeon when I had the MOHs procedure on my forehead and the scar after 15 stitches is non existent. I highly recommend Dr. Dang for any dermatological need.

My daughter had three minor procedures here. We saw the nurse practicer and she was so nice. The whole staff is wonderful. Very clean. Would recommend this place

I was recommended to Dr. Dang by my pcp. The first dermatologist I was referred to didn’t take my insurance so when I called Dr. Dang’s office I made sure that they did before I booked an appointment. I read the receptionist my insurance information and she assured me several times that they accepted my insurance. Once I finally showed up to my appointment (which was almost a month later because that was the soonest one that they had) I checked in with the receptionist only for her to tell me that they were out of my network and I would have to pay full price for all services I received until I met my deductible. That was NOT was I was told over the phone. When I explained to her I was told differently over the phone and that I had to drive an hour and a half just to get there, she didn’t even seem to care and just stared at me. I finally got a pretty pathetic «sorry about that» as she waited for me to walk away.
I work in the medical field and have always worked in offices and for providers that pride themselves in customer service. This experience with Dr. Dangs staff is unacceptable!

Wow, I can’t believe the customer service that I just received a few minutes ago.
I called to get my kids seen by Dr. Dang (who was recommended by our pediatrician) and was able to book their appt a month out. (She’s heavily booked). I called back to cancel their appts (since I need them to see someone sooner — Dr Greenberg), and wanted to take their appt for myself. I was impressed with Dr. Dang’s website and wanted to see about getting some cosmetic work done. I mentioned to the receptionist that I will have new PPO insurance in January, she told me that she couldn’t book my appt unless I had the insurance information. Seriously? So you’re telling me that you’re turning away new patients right off the bat even when we have coverage? YES. No apology given, just a — «well, I shouldn’t have taken the appts for your children in the first place.» WTH?! That’s no way to run a business. And I agree with the other reviewers who have had similar experiences with the front of the house. I’m ALL about customer experience, and this is just HORRIBLE, right off the bat.
Dr. Greenberg now has all of my business.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Dang for a few years now, and I cannot say enough good things about her care & practice. I feel like we covered everything under the sun since I started seeing them … acne, eczema and sun damage — you name it, and she had fixed it! Dr. Dang is incredibly nice, VERY knowledgeable, and really takes her time to talk with you. Mostly Honesty is what I like her the most. I also get acne treatment once a month and loved the way her esthetician treat my skin. Now my skin looks wonderful.
If you are looking for a doctor who cares about your skin, acne, botox, etc. see Dr. Dang!

(posted on behalf of Clare Hornig) I’ve been going to Dr. Dang for a couple of years now, and I trust her for all my dermatological needs. The office is always on time, and they’re very polite. I am a tough reviewer, and I don’t have anything negative to say about her. She is very direct, but once you get to know her, she is extremely sweet and she does her job very well.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Dang since the end of January of 2014, and I’ve got nothing but positive feedback for this amazing doctor and staff.
Coming from a patient’s point of view; I see Dr. Dang for psoriasis and acne. I came in initially thinking that my horribly scabbed and itchy rashes were eczema, but she took a quick glance and noticed right away that it was psoriasis. She also did an overview of my skin and noticed my acne and immediately suggested for acne surgery, or acne facials. And I agreed right away!
I left my first appt. with tons of samples, a lot of guidance and great service.
Dr. Dang’s bedside manner is wonderful. She’s very kind and very knowledgable. Her staff members are great and her office manager is also very responsible and keeps the office well maintained. Dr. Dang is a very quick and to the point doctor, she’s very «on the go.» Which this type of care is more than fine with me considering my PCP and her are on the same pace. I don’t like doctors that take too much time, I want to be «in and out.»
Currently I am being seen every month by an Esthetician named Dynice. She’s amazing! She does great work with me, she’s friendly, and very professional. Because I also work in a medical office and my appointments with her are over 1 hour long, she’s nice enough to accommodate my schedule. I see her for my acne facials. She’s definitely a veteran in this department and she’s helped my skin improve 110%!
I did have one little incident in the past with scheduling: I showed up to an appt. that my Esthetician was not in on that day, I hadn’t received a call, but got there anyways. I’m a really passive person, so this wasn’t a big deal for me, but the office staff totally made everything up for me by giving me samples from their closet for the mishap and also waiving a future copay! I wasn’t going to complain. This was great customer service. I absolutely love this office.
Now, from a medical professional’s point of view: my office is a clinic in Pleasanton that regularly refers to Dr. Dang. She’s our «Go-​To» doctor for dermatology. We haven’t heard any complaints from patients that we’ve referred. We also love working with this office as far as calling for same day appt’s if needed, or even getting past medical records.
I highly recommend MD Dermatology if you’re looking for a professional, high quality, top notch dermatologist!

I’ve been going to Dr. Dang for 4 years and she’s the first dermatologist to really improve my skin and problems I’ve had with acne. She understands my skin care needs and as a woman of color I really appreciate this. You will not go wrong with going to Dr Dang for all you skin care needs.

After posting my review the office manager called me at home apologizing for my experience and offered to refund my co-​pay and assured me that if I returned I would not be charge for any other service. I appreciated the call because she seemed very concerned and I thought she understood why I was upset by the whole experience. After several phone message to call her back (which I didn’t) I guess she decided to officially respond four months later.
I am very well aware of my co– copays due for service with my insurance and do not mind paying if the services are provided. When I called to schedule my appointment I explained to the receptionist EXACTLY what I my daughter need to have remove and of our vacation to Hawaii in a few days. She assured me the procedure would not interfere with our trip so I went ahead and scheduled the appointment. She should have known that when removing a wart it could blister and get infected if exposed to sun or water. Which is what I was told once I was there for the appointment which last about 5 minutes. If she didn’t know she should have asked a professional. I would have waited to bring her in after our trip instead of waisting my time. I was never told I need a «consultation «prior to removing a wart which is what they had to call it to bill the insurance for services. They booked and appointment that they should’t have but they still got paid. I don’t feel her refunding my money was actually a courtesy because they where still getting their money.
The «beetle Juice «they used did nothing. The wart is still there and I still received another bill from them for more money. Even after she assured me I would not pay anything else. I am annoyed that she makes it seem that the billing was correct because Blue Shield paid them. I never heard from Blue Shield in regards to this matter.
My biggest complaint is the fact the the receptionist didn’t do her job. She should have known more about the procedure instead of trying to just book an appointment and get money.

I went for a simple mole check and saw the assistant Nicole Samaniego PA. I received a cursory check and they recommended and performed the freezing of two moles — one on the cheek and another on the lip. A few days later, I noticed that the freeze-​job for my lip mole totally missed the mole by an inch (expected blood blister was the obvious location they froze). I was disappointed and decided that I would not be returning.
After writing a negative review on Unilocal,I was contacted by Dr. Dang personally (remember that you are not completely anonymous here). Dr. Dang was very interested in trying to resolve my concerns and offered several times to have me come back in at their cost. As additional consideration of my experience, Dr. Dang had the office not process my coinsurance payment. This included a personal follow-​up note from Dr. Dang.
In summary, I was not thrilled with my service but highly appreciative of the extra efforts made by Dr. Dang to try and make «right.» I am still going to find another dermatologist. From my view, this office seems more geared for the plastic surgery crowd and less oriented to the cancer prevention/​treatment crowd.
Keep in mind that lesion/​mole treatment fees are high for the first mole and much cheaper for the subsequent ones. Therefore, help make sure they get them all right up front to reduce your costs, repeat trips (each time comes with the high first mole treatment fee), etc.

I went to Dr. Dang to treat my teenage acne. I noted her impressive credentials on the wall of the exam room and so I expected great things. I was disappointed. I expressed to her that I would like to try a topical treatment first and not antibiotics. She was very rude – she disregarded my concerns – in a hurry, and wrote me a rx for an antibiotic.
I never went back to her. While I appreciate that Dr. Dang has had extensive training and knows much more about dermatology than I do, as a patient, I would like my concerns and input to be considered (at least a little) with respect to my treatment.

Doctor and assistant Ivy are really nice. This other time around I have had a better experience! Doctor really tried to help the patients out. Thanks guys!

Dr. Dang really knows her stuff. Other dermatologists refer her for procedures beyond their capabilities. I have been going to Dr. Dang regularly for a decade
or more. Initially, I was referred by my dermatologist of many years because she could perform MOHS surgery. I had a cancerous mole that needed to be removed and she knew this procedure whereby she could excise the growth layer by layer and not remove any more tissue than absolutely necessary. I was impressed and from that time on went to Dr. Dang. A fair skinned person, I have an annual checkup with her, but I’ve also had her do some cosmetic procedures. (collagen, Botox) Dr. Dang is the best.

Sorry, I would not recommend Dr. Dang.
For a nice office, I felt hurried, and when I had questions, she referred me to her assistant. As she was walking out, I asked if my insurance could help with correcting one sun spot on my face, and she quickly said no. I feel like she just wants $$$ (I can’t believe insurance cannot help with one sun spot!?!)
Her recommendation for one sun spot (about the size of a dime): 3 sessions at $ 500 each! That seems way too expensive!!! I left feeling very disappointed.
As a doctor, there is very little time and care was invested in me, and to not consider my great insurance plan, I felt she was inconsiderate of people’s financial interests. I wouldn’t mind paying top dollar with someone I trusted had my best interest in mind. Unfortunately, I didn’t feel that with her.
