Americas Best Inns & Suite

I used to live up the street from this hotel, and when I made plans to come back to Florida for a visit, I booked a room at this hotel for 2 nights. The room was very large, which I liked, and the location was good. Unfortunately, that is the only good thing I can say. I slept part of the first night in the bed closest to the window, and it was incredibly uncomfortable. I moved to the other bed, which was slightly better. When I woke up in the morning, I discovered a series of very large and ugly bug bites along my shoulder and upper arm on the side that I sleep on. It is now 4 days since I checked out and the bites are finally getting better (room 214 by the way). I sent the hotel an email with pictures of my bug bites and as of now have not heard back from them. I just called the hotel to speak to the owner or manager, and firmly told the person on the phone that ignoring me and doing nothing will have bad consequences. I don’t know yet whether I will get a call back from them, but if they ignore me, there will be repercussions. For starters, I’m posting this review and I will post the pictures wherever I can. The air conditioning was a very old wall air conditioner that barely worked. If necessary, I will contact the health department to inspect this property. Stay away!

I came to the Miami area for a conference and I wanted a low cost solution. Now I understand that these accommodations were not the Marriott or the Hilton. However I did not realize that I would be staying in the ROACH motel, literally!
Let’s start at the beginning, the hotel charges you for the room 100% before you set foot on the property! The door to the room looked as though a strong wind could blow it over. There were cracks in the sides and the air conditioner unit had a bucket below to catch the water. I was on the first floor near the pool that No one ventured to go in, on Spring Break! When you enter the room the floor has lumps! Yes lumps! Like the concrete below is uneven! The room says non smoking but it reeks of stale cigarette.
The electrical issues in this hotel are bad. It is technically one spark away from a fire! Pictures attached! I thought I was allergic to the detergent they washed the sheets in but in hindsight those were probably bed bugs! The bathtub is filthy the room in general was substandard.
The pivotal point for me is when flying and hissing roaches, (yes plural multiple!) flew dangerously close to my face while I was in the bed!
Omg I was done! I called the front desk, they were not there, thank God I made the reservation through
. I was able to talk to this amazing customer service rep who called and got me into another hotel at 1 am in the pouring rain! Not trying to plug
but seriously the most helpful customer service ever! I would have slept in my car before going back into that hotel! No one was at the front desk and it the phone didn’t even work in the room and was so filthy. All pics are attached!

Booked a
and arrived to check in. The front desk attendant stated our reservation was cancelled because they were overbooked. We never received a call stating the reservation was cancelled.
The front desk gentlemen did not care that we had no place to stay or accommodating.

This place is the pits! The «manager» has a HORRIBLE attitude. The place is outdated. They are very dishonest. I was overcharged for my room. BEWARE
Their online ad says that they have a weekly rental rate of $ 350. This is a big lie. First they say you have to stay 2 nights and then after the 3^rd night you will get the weekly rate. That’s a big lie. I paid for 2 nights and on the third day I called to ask for the weekly rate. By the time I got to the office the «manager» had taken it upon herself to bill my credit card for the full daily rate. I was informed that I could begin the weekly rate on day 4. Well, I only needed to be there for 7 days
The first room they gave me looked like someone was still staying there. It had not ben cleaned, linen from previous guests had not been changed.
Room #2 smelled kind of bad and the towels (which were very old and worn) needed to be replaced. The smoke detector was inoperable. Other than that the room was ok until the end of the 3^rd day. BUT We had been out and about all day and when we returned late that evening the entire bathroom was flooded with about an inch of water. After a few minutes the toilet started to run by itself and water, urine and feces started to ooze out from under the seat onto the floor. I called the front desk and the clerk (eventually) moves us to another room. (By the way, housekeeping walked in on me showering on day 2 and never showed up at all on day 3).
Room #3 had a very, very strong chemical smell and the bathtub water stayed cold.

Not so friendly transitioning day-​to-​night staff (8pm isn’t that late to check in and had to wait 20min for the night shift guy to arrive?) Huge rooms. Nothing really worked I.e. toilet and shower. The pool was locked but looked nice. Grounds staff was really nice and helpful. Comfortable beds, good for a quick overnight stay.

I don’t think I have ever stayed at a filthier inn. 1) Dog feces were prevalent in the driveway under the awning, I drive through it when checking in. 2) the night window is just above an air conditioning unit requiring you to lean far forward to sign in while hot humid exhaust blows on you. 3) my «no smoking» room reeked of cigarettes, with burn marks on every surface (room 120 in case you care!). I am allergic to tobacco, so for me this is a BIG DEAL! 4) Butt burn holes in the chair cushions. 5) The floor under the carpet is uneven and unsafe to walk on. I tripped several times on hidden protuberances. 6) there are no safety rails in the tub or bathroom. There are no «non-​skids» in the tub. I was taking my life in my hands just trying to shower. I know I was not the first because the shower curtain rod had been pulled out from the wall several times and spackled back into place probably by someone suffering a slip and fall. 7) I DON’T THINK THE BEDDING HAD BEEN CHANGED FOR AT LEAST A WEEK!!! I have wavey/​curly brown and grey hair past my shoulders, There were 1 – 2 inch black straight hairs on the pillow cases and in the soap dish by the bathroom sink. 8) Ameneties… none to speak of. If you want ice you can beg the clerk at he front desk for a baggie of cubes from his refrigerator, but they do not have a commercial ice machine. 9) The coffee maker is not the one appropriate for the supplied coffee pod. 10) the coffee maker cord does not reach the electrical outlet, I had to take the machine to the bathroom to let the machine teeter on the edge of the sink while it made a very light brown fluid I suppose could be called coffee if your only experience with coffee was having read about it. 11) Housekeeping had a cigarette hanging from his mouth while doing the minimal cleaning (spreading up the bed and replacing towels… no wipe down or use of any cleaning products) Remember… this was a «no smoking» room. I read other reviews online but I think they must have been written by the staff, not by guests. I will never ever book a room here again and I will make certain as many people as I can reach also know to not stay here.
