Place isn’t even deserving of one star. Knew we should have turned around and walked right out when we saw a woman having a «shot» of fireball, chased with a glass of wine, while sipping on a beer. Love dive bars, but would not place this joint in that category. This is where you go if you completely hate life and what it is all about.

Don’t get me wrong. I happen to love dive bars, sort of dark, grungy, and the filth or dirt doesn’t bother me in the least, but that is as long as they are fun, have some sort of spirit or a little vibrant pizazz. Unfortunately, the Dug Out has none of the vibrant pizazz or fun spirits about it. It’s just a dirty, grungy joint with a low life ambiance. It reeks of stale foul smelling smoke, the floor is gritty, worn and old, and if you take one look into the kitchen, you might not be very inclined to eat anything from it though they do have a reputation for a good tasting chili. It has three pool tables, a whole bunch of televisions, some of which would be more suitably situated in an antique electronics outlet than before a patron viewing audience. The service is crappy with the bartendress seemingly more interested in her iPhone than customer needs and the glasses situated in the overhead bar racks look dingy, dusty, cloudy and in serious need of a cleaning. Then for what may boarder upon the absurd, while I was there, there were a few patrons who I would doubt ever made it to varsity status even in a lowly high school sport screaming at what was a $ 40 million dollar five year contract professional player, telling him how the game should properly be played. My recommendation is to avoid this place.

Holy moly! This place is disgusting. There is dirt and grime everywhere. Looks like maybe there was a fire in here… Looks like mold on the ceiling tiles that are there — many are missing and the exposed ceiling is even more disgusting. I absolutely cannot believe they serve food in this environment. Health inspectors are really not doing their job if this health hazard is still open. Nice staff, but oh my does this place need to be totally gutted and renovated. Stayed for one beer and left.
