Hampton Inn & Suites Port Richey

They accepted my internet reservations and then refused is at the door claiming it was the fault of the reservation provider. But they had accepted my money and sent additional confirmation.
They didn’t give me a room or an apology but did offer me a list of phone numbers

First visit here and if «Waze» had any true direction sense I would’ve been here 20 minutes sooner.
Not the best location when it comes to restaurants, or at least not the best if you head North on 19.
A typical Hampton, but they get an extra star for the room upgrade.

I posted the photos above to reflect the spic and span-​ness of the room I stayed in and the breakfast area. I was thoroughly pleased. And if you don’t have time to sit to have breakfast, they offer a breakfast to go in a bag, consisting of a bottle of water, a granola bar, an apple and a filling mini loaf. Coffee is complimentary in the lobby, around the clock.

We stayed here twice in one week for a total of 4 nights, and the reviews for the two stays are so completely different. Let’s start with the first stay.
The first three nights were perfect. Friendly staff. A nice clean room. Fantastic breakfast. A 4.5÷5 star stay. We picked this location because of it’s proximity to family who live in the area, and we made the decision to pay more for the Hampton compared to other hotels in the area because we wanted to make sure we were in a clean hotel with a good reputation.
The first stay was so good that we decided to return after a few days at Disney before we flew home at the end of the week.
Now there’s something you should probably know about me. I am ‘that girl’ who brings clorox wipes and completely cleans each hotel room before touching anything. In fact, I probably leave those hotel rooms cleaner than they were when I first enter them.
And that leads to the second stay where we needed two (yes, TWO) clorox wipes to clean just the TV remote. It was completely encased in a thick black goop that was almost like shoe polish. It’s something I’ve never seen before, and was disgusting and made me question a lot about the cleanliness of the rest of the room/​hotel. This was the 1−2÷5 star stay, and to be honest they’re lucky that it didn’t happen the first time because we clearly wouldn’t have returned to this hotel if that were the case.
The verdict — do your homework. I won’t recommend against staying here, but take a look at other reviews and other hotels in the area and weigh what you’d like to pay vs. the quality of the hotel before making your decision.

This place is amazing. We stayed here 6÷24−6÷30÷2014 after we had a death in our family and came from Omaha for the funeral. They opened their doors to our entire extended family and were so kind and helpful to us. The rooms were clean and breakfast was wonderful. Couldn’t ask for more!

Friendly, clean and hospitable. I would stay again. Easy parking.

Stayed here during a weekend and was happy with most of my stay. Service was hit or miss… several folks working there were pleasant and helpful. When I inquired about food delivery service to the night desk clerk he handed me the yellow pages. Thanks, pal. The other drawback was the bed was incredibly hard. It was located conveniently for me so it was an ok stopover.
