Good atmosphere, great booking of talent. People seem to like working there and the customers reflect that too. Can’t wait to go back. especially when Ma Fondue is the band on stage.

Wonderful ambience with tasteful live music, nicely decorated décor and friendly/professional service, this family owned and run restaurant is a gem in Milwaukie. This is more of a restaurant for older adults or families and with a nice wine and cocktail selection. Reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that the food is just average. Nothing fancy but not terrible. The happy hour portions were tiny and not good value for the price. If they improve the food quality and portions, I’ll be happy to edit my rating!

I love, love, love this place! Oddly enough I don’t drink wine but they have many other options. The food is amazing and the ambiance is incredible. I’ve never stayed for the live music but I have no doubt that it would be incredible as well. If I could change anything I would ask that the menu be expanded a little and that they had some lower tables. Sitting at pub height tables can be hard on some peoples legs. Other than that, awesome place!

We enjoy coming here for their happy hour. Quaint little place that’s easy to miss while driving by on McLoughlin. Stop in for a nice bottle of wine and good food in a nice relaxing environment.

Enjoyed the food, but the service was really slow. Waited 20 minutes before anyone even offered us a drink and appetizers. The appetizers were also too expensive. Once we got our food and finished they brought us the bill without offering us desert. It was also very hot in the restaurant. I guess they need to update their AC.

Food was so so, wine list was good and affordable. We were able to get a good place to sit despite not having reservations. Jazz music was great!

Cozy and comfortable. A little clique(y), but not exclusionary. The family that owns the restaurant owns the rest of the businesses in the small strip mall that houses the restaurant(a alterations shop, a sun tan place, and a travel agency). A good portion of the patrons have traveled with them at least once. Everybody knows other people. It’s clubby. We’ve eaten there at least 10 times. Always at the back bar, served by the same bartender. 9⁄10 was timely out of the kitchen. Always amazing food. Great prices. Awesome live music. Ambiance is like something out of San Francisco, but very casual. Crowd averages in the late 40’s to mid 50’s, but there are all types. A fun place.

Can’t believe I have never been here! Awesome free live jazz, great cozy atmosphere, friendly, welcoming staff. The marghareta pizza is very thin crust and sooo flavorful! The spicy spaghetti is awesome. I am so impressed! A real gem of a jazz bar. Can’t believe this is Milwaukie!

If you love good Jazz music and great Italian entrees this is just about it. Their wine selection is extremely lacking and their bartender could use a refresher course. They have great ambiance although seating is not very feng shui. Be ready to justify when and what time you make a reservation or you may end up seated in the main hall way by the kitchen or in the back by the restroom. Their service is very friendly and accommodating in a generic way. This is definitely a couples or group under 4 person restaurant. I would advise against taking large groups here and beware the inflated prices and the 18% large group automatic gratuity.

Music great. Amy Mann cheese plate needs to be served with bread or crackers the muscles need to be served with a spoon and also the bread accompanying needs toasted. Wait time for hors d’oeuvres to be served was quite long and One of the two glasses of wine was corked. Ambience and very comfortable surroundings very welcoming.

Wow. 1 star for the ambience, although the alarmingly thick dust bunnies coating the décor was the least bit charming. Fairly good jazz music, but you’ll have to sit at the opposite end of the restaurant if you want to be able to hear things when you leave. It’s a Saturday night and the restaurant is fairly busy. We’re seated and given menus. Probably the best part of the service tonight. First of all, the waitress«memorized» our order. Kind of. We waited 45 minutes, hoping to get our appetizer by then, but was instead greeted by a, «How are you guys doing? I’ll bet you’re hungry.» And walked away. Our drinks(including such a basic beverage as water), remained empty the entire time. After waiting at least 60 minutes, we received our starter soup and salad, at the same time as our entrees, but no appetizer. Our waitress was unaware we had even ordered an appetizer. She offered to put it in a to go box. Um, no thanks. At this point, we didn’t even want it anymore – we’ve waited hungry for long enough. The minestrone soup was so, utterly and extremely salty, that it was inedible. Eventually we just asked the waitress to have the chef try his own freaking soup because, what true Italian restaurant can’t get minestrone right? It didn’t help that we had no water refills. The chicken alfredo was good, angel hair pasta was good, as well as the chef salad. However, nothing was exactly impressive, and I could have definitely made it tastier in my own kitchen. It was clear at this point that the waitress was sort of avoiding our table, and I had to ask for water and for her to please clear the plates. Since we sat near the kitchen, we could hear her complaining to her coworkers about our table, which by the way, we were far more pleasant than we could have been – we all have had waitressing experience, and know to be more than just kind, but this was ridiculous. I will never be returning, nor will I be referring this place to anyone. I don’t like to give out bad reviews, but a restaurant that can’t offer the most basic of service should probably realize there’s something they can at least improve on. Wine and beverage options are meh. The area is definitely sketch. Look elsewhere if you’re looking for a great meal and any sort of respectable service. Sorry, Arrivederci. You kinda suck. I had wished for much better.

A friend took me to her favorite italian restaurants near Portland called Arrivederci. It is a cozy little place nicely decorated with little nooks and crannies where you can sit and just enjoy the atmosphere and music. The food was fantastic and not expensive. I understand they do a lot of live jazz and blues and Rich was on the piano with a bass fiddle and drums filling out the band. They also had a lovely woman singer and even the owner Steve, sang and played sax. It was so much fun and would highly recommend it to anyone that likes great italian food, wine, music and nice people. Oh Brent our waitperson was so nice and brought us a very nice Pinot noir that he recommended and Andrea was the hostess who often came over to check on how we were doing. Just a lovely evening. I can’t imagine a better place to go with friend and family!

I have driven by this place so many times and have always wanted to try it! It was great! My neighbor and I went there and we both loved it. The place was packed, and I liked the wine and food that we had. For the price it was fabulous. IT was nice to get out and listen to some Latin Jazz music as well. We had a great time. Surprised to see posts that put down the service. Our waiter was awesome… very attentive, and let me taste some of the wines before having a glass. He was great! To me this is like a hidden gem! I’ll be back soon! :) Selena

OK Arrivederci, now that you have your makeup on, let’s work on the part of you that matters; your heart and soul.(i.e. food/drink and service) Most everyone can agree that Arrivederci’s ambiance is charming, intimate and interesting. I particularly like the view of the Dolphin Strip Club across the street. It is stark reminder that you are in fact in gritty, strip-mall suburbia. Our party of about 12 was there for a birthday party, so of course we had a reservation. Naturally, you would think that the restaurant would be prepared for us and for the usual business that comes with a Saturday night. NOPE. They ran out of meat sauce so certain menu items were not available. They ran out of ingredients for one of their most popular cocktails. Some of us waited 45 minutes just for just an appetizer and then FOREVER for the entrée. The food once it arrived, was OK. I would just like to mention that if I ask for no onion and bell peppers in my entrée don’t you think it would follow that I would want to have no onion and peppers in my salad? Just sayin’… Our table was right in front of the house band. Every once in a while, they would play something beautiful and instrumental and the owner who plays the sax would join in and that was pretty cool. Let’s just add insult to injury. After excruciatingly slow service, running out of menu items, let’s just tack on $ 5.00 cover charge per person to the bill. According to the website, the cover starts at 7:30PM. Our reservation was at 6:30PM. LAME. Aptly named: Arrivederci.
