I love Nassau West so many wonderful hair stylist to choose from

I recently had my hair cut at Nassau West Salon by Jineen Mantei. I have to say, this is one of the best cuts I’ve had in many years. My hair is becoming more and more fine as I get older and she was able to do exactly what I needed. I don’t feel like I already need to go back for a trim like I usually do around this time. I will definitely be going back to see Jineen from now on. For all you men out there that need a good clean cut, go see Jineen Mantei.

I had my hair cut by Anna at Nassau West Salon based on another review here. My experience was off from the get-​go. I called ahead of time to get a feel for prices which ranged from $ 35-​$ 45 depending on the stylist. When I called to schedule with Anna, I was told she does her own scheduling.
When I reached her, she told me the price for a cut for the first time with her was $ 50, but only the first cut, after that it was $ 45. Hmmm, that is not what I was told earlier. This alone should have been my warning. If she is having so much trouble getting clients to come back, that she has to charge them $ 5 more, that’s a red flag. She explained that she spends a lot more time with first time clients. Hmmmm, that was not my experience either. Of all the new stylists I have been to in my 55 years of life, she barely spent anytime discussing my hair. After all, all I wanted was a trim.
However, what she gave me was layers!!! After spending months growing out my layers, and only requesting a trim, she layered my hair again!
But that isn’t what took the cake. It was Halloween. In the middle of my cut — I kid you not — another stylist came in and wanted help with her costume and my stylist quit cutting my hair for 10 minutes while she helped her co-​worker with her costume.
What’s wrong with this picture? Number one, I made the appointment, I paid $ 5.00 extra for the extra time, and she is spending my time helping her co-​worker with her costume. What a position to be in? There was no regard for my schedule. If I say something, I’m clearly a party pooper. .. heck it was Halloween. I will never go back to that stylist — perhaps try a different one
My other gripe about this place is there is often times no staff at the front desk. They assume you have been there before and know who and where your stylist is at and to walk to their station. I waited another time for ½ hour only to find that there was a mix-​up with schedules.
Guess I don’t understand all the raving reviews. I find the place a bit frustrating.

Aysha has been taking care of my entire family for years and I just can’t say enough good things about her. Not only is she an amazing artist, she has a huge heart and is a true friend. Her intuitive nature and extensive knowledge about hair and styling makes her the perfect stylist. Thank you Aysha! Love you!

I have used a stylist at Nassau West for at least 15 years. Susan Jenkins retired and I started with Carla Potts. She is a great stylist and a lot of fun to be around. Great sense of humor. She carries all of the current products and is well schooled in what works the best for your hair. They do have an ATM in the lobby for convenience.

My stylist Jen Hatcher does an amazing job. I highly suggest that you give her a call for your next cut and color.

I have been going to Nassau West for a few years now, and i go to Alycia. She does an amazing job! She does exacgtly what you ask for and she is very good about getting appointments fast. She really cares about what you want and making sure you leave happy. Definitely reccomend her as a stylsit!!!

I have been getting my hair done by Alysia Johnstone for a few months now. She does an amazing job and I always leave feeling great. She is awesome at cutting and coloring hair. She is also very accomodating and it never takes too long to get an appointment with her which is really nice. I highly recommend her if you are looking for a new stylist.

I had my hair cut this weekend by Ann Foster, and she is absolutely amazing. Within 30 minutes she had turned my rat’s nest into a beautiful wash and wear style. Ann has years of experience doing hair and was able to help me find a style that works with my face shape and hair type. I got so many compliments at work… even guys were noticing that I got my hair cut! I recommend Ann highly.

Have known the family who owns the whole strip of businesses here and they are amazing! Very sweet people and I’ve had my hair colored and cut by Lauren M for as long as I can remember! She knows the current trends and makes them work for anyone. :)
