Specialties
We are what is known as a bacaro, a Venetian style wine and snack bar. We have cecchetti (small plates), Italian cocktail, classic cocktail, and have a large selection of traditional Italian herbal bitters and liqueurs. Our spirits selection leans heavily local with about 80% of our spirits being produced in Oregon. PBR and Birra Moretti always on tap with six other taps that rotate and are primarily Oregon/Washington beers.
History
Established in 2012.
Heavily influence by a lot of time in the bars of Italy and specifically Venice, Christopher Ashley decided that Portland was ready for it with our acceptance of unfamiliar food and quality booze. He hooked up with Chef Ethan Flom (Broder, Savoy Tavern) and worked to create our heavily Venetian influenced menu. He then was lucky enough to snap up Suzanne Allard (Ned Ludd, Pok Pok Noi, 50 Plates) as our master bartender (there are no mixologists here). We opened to the public on Oct. 30th, 2012 and are quickly catching on!
