Barney’s Pro Kleen Carpet Cleaning

My carpets were long overdue for a cleaning. After a couple winters and two dogs, you can imagine the mess. Barney’s was amazing! They were on time, friendly, and my carpets look brand new! I would absolutely recommend them to any of my friends.

They did a great job on my carpets. They were scheduled to arrive at 10:00 and I hadn’t heard from him by 10:30 so I called and left message. Barney called me within 5 minutes and apologized that his technician didn’t call but was held up on job from earlier in morning.
Barney was very professional and asked if they could come at 1:30. Barney came himself at 1:30 and did the whole job himself. He was very friendly and got right to work. Was done by 3:00. I would definitely call them again. Although I was a little hesitant about the start in the morning, I do understand that things can get held up and I did appreciate how responsive and professional he was. The price was great and I woud definitely recommend this company.

Had my carpets cleaned recently by Barneys. They were really professional.
They were fast and friendly. I was able to make the reservation over the phone and they arrived the same day. They moved the furniture which was great as I hurt my back.

Barney and an assistant arrived right on time. I asked them to be careful of newly painted walls, and they were watchful to see that it wasn’t damaged or scraped. They sprayed a spot removing and deodorizing solution on the carpet, and then steam cleaned it. They were quick and efficient, and all stains were removed.

First time using this company, and I am very pleased with the quality and service I received today. Barney was very friendly and professional. He also gave me a great price on the cleaning.
I have already scheduled to get the upholstery cleaned on my sectional in a few months. I will definitely refer his carpet cleaning services to my friends and family.

From the initial phone call, Barney was very responsive and informative. When he arrived he first inspected the carpeting and let me know how he would treat the spots (I have two cats and more than a few accident spots) He was honest about what could be treated and what might still be a problem. He was very appreciative that I had moved furniture out of his way and had vacuumed.
I asked him to renegotiate his price (which I thought was too low) because one of the rooms is very large. He was very happy about that too. He was careful about bringing in his equipment and quickly went about cleaning. It only took 2 – 3 hours — much less than I had feared. The house smelled great partially because of the cleaning but also because of the sanitizer he uses.
Barney was as concerned with my carpeting as I am and took the job very seriously. He worked harder than any other carpet cleaning service I’ve had in the past and did a superior job.
I waited to write the review to make sure that everything came out okay. He got rid of some stains I didn’t think would go and the overall result is very good. After a week it still smells great and looks fantastic. Thanks Barney

Barney answered his phone the first time we called, and kept in constant contact throughout the entire job. He explained the job in detail, and was very thorough as he cleaned. He even showed us the dirty water so we could see just how dirty our carpets were! We especially appreciated the tips he gave us on what and what NOT to use when you have a stain/​spill on your carpets. We felt his carpet cleaning prices were fair, and we would definitely use his carpet cleaning services again.

Barney did a fantastic job with cleaning all carpeting and upholstery in our new condo. He always goes the extra mile and his can-​do attitude is very much appreciated. He is reliable and efficient. I would definitely recommend him for carpet cleaning to my friends in the future.

Our carpets had many food stains and had never been professionally cleaned in years. I wasn’t sure if the food stains would come out, but Barney seemed pretty confident when he came over to check on the condition of the carpets. I wasn’t there when Barney came to clean our carpets, but when I came home, I was very happy to see the food stains gone. The carpets looked very clean. Our tiles were very dirty too, and Barney did a thorough job getting the grease out. We’re glad that we hired Barney, and would hire him again to clean our carpets in the future

Barney did an excellent job on my carpet. We have had about a year and a half of work done inside our house and, of course, the carpet took a beating. When I called Barney, he answered and was very courteous, professional, and flexible in setting up an appointment. When he arrived, he was a bit early and went to work in a very efficient and professional manner. One can tell that he has done this work for a long time and knew exactly where to start and what to do. He cleaned our den, the living room and hallway. After he finished, we had him apply a protectant to keep the carpet looking nice for longer. I will definitely call Barney again in the future for any floor cleaning. He is professional, explained exactly what he was doing and why, is courteous and was very respectful of our wishes and our house.

We have 2 bedrooms & and an office that are carpeted & an oriental area rug in the living room & an area rug in the dining room. I was concerned that the oriental rug is 100% wool and the label stated not to use water saturation methods for cleaning. Barney, the owner, who came to do the cleaning is very knowledgeable about all kinds of carpets and assured me he uses a foam type cleaning process with the water at lukewarm temps as opposed to steam cleaning at high temps. He explained steam carpet cleaning can shrink 100% wool rugs due to the very hot water. We showed him the spots in the master bedroom & on the 100% wool area rug.
I called two other Portland carpet cleaners and never even heard back. Barney called me within 10 minutes of me leaving a message on his voice mail. I explained my concerns re: the wool area rug & our master bedroom is quite large at 240 square feet plus the carpet in the adjoining dressing room. Barney calmed my fears that their foam method of carpet cleaning will not ruin the 100% wool area rug & they don’t limit the size of rooms when charging per room. She assured me they have been in business over 20 years & would do a good job for us.
Barney happened to have an 11 AM opening for the very next day which worked for us. He said he would call before he would arrived. Barney arrived right on time & is very personable as well. We showed him the 3 rooms of carpet and 2 area rugs needing cleaning. He noticed a spot in the guest bedroom almost under a bedside table that I hadn’t even noticed. Barney moved the table himself so he had better access to clean the area thoroughly. We showed him the spots on our 100% wool are rug & in the master bedroom. My husband mentioned he thought the master bedroom carpet seemed cheap to him & felt the seams were done poorly. Barney assured us the carpeting is expensive high grade commercial quality carpet & pointed out the seams were done very well. He said the center piece of carpet was actually a slightly different color (dye lot) which probably caused our dissatisfaction with the seaming. He is absolutely right. Now we see that the slight difference in was why we were dissatisfied with how the carpet looks. That answered our future plans of replacing the carpet in the master bedroom now that we know the carpet is good quality & the seams are well done. That saves us a lot of money which we would have spent if we hadn’t met such a knowledgeable Portland carpet cleaner in Barney. In less than 2 hours Barney was finished cleaning the carpet & he even used a hand held tool to bring up the nap of all the carpets. He walked through all the rooms where he had worked with us & the spots in the master & on the 100% wool area rug were gone. The spot he had noticed in the guest room was gone with no trace of grease/​oil we think the spot was. Barney had even moved a heavy chair out of the den so he could thoroughly clean the carpet. He instructed us not to hesitate to call if anything concerned us about how the carpets looked after a few days because he wanted to make sure we were 100% satisfied. We paid him the exact amount that we had been quoted over the phone.
We are very pleased with how Barney made our carpets spotless & looking like new! I’d recommend this carpet cleaning service to family, friends & anyone & I will! It was a pleasure to meet Barney and appreciated that he took such good care of us! We’ll always call Barney’s Pro Kleen for future carpet cleaning needs.

This review is long overdue. We recently began renting a new home. When we originally came to see the house the carpets were in bad shape. The current tenants had not yet moved out. But we were ensured by the property management company when signing the lease that the carpets would be taken care of, and cleaned prior to us moving in.
Move in day finally came but the carpets hadn’t changed much. I asked the property manager if the cleaner had already came. We were told we have a material of carpet that can’t be cleaned very well and will always show stains. She said the carpet cleaning company did the best they could and that the owners have decided they will replace the carpet at a future undetermined date. This was not great news for us but a few small stains weren’t enough to make a big deal about.
I originally was referred to Barney’s pro kleen by my sister-​in-​law who had her carpets done a few months back. She has a similar type of carpet and had stains that were even worse then the ones we had in our home come out.
I was only able to speak with Barney over the phone since I had my carpets done while I was at work. He was very friendly and courteous. He took the time to hear me out, and listen to the situation i was in. His price was very fair for the work that was done. He was able to completely remove the stains that were in the carpet even though the previous carpet cleaning service was able to do nothing just a few weeks prior.
I took some photos and have added them to this review. I have ended up sending these pictures to the property management company for our home. The owners of the property were so impressed they have reimbursed us the money we paid Barney’s Pro Kleen. Great job all around. I recommend to all!
