LOVE b&b. I hate going there because I literally love everything in the store. The play area is GENIUS. I like a lot of Portland boutiques but there isn’t another that I consistently love, I have never been in here and thought «meh.»
The clothes can be a little on the pricey side, but for a boutique with gorgeous clothes and amazing quality… You get what you pay for. You want cheapo, go to h&m and get some sweatshop duds.

Whoot! Stopped by this store for the first time yesterday. This has to be in my top ten boutiques in town. The stores been open for quite a few years now and has its markets down. I would say its chic mommy, forward thinking fashion (that has to be wearable), unique home décor. I would say its a Antropology-​like store but with a much more clever eye for clothes.
This store cements that idea that while I am not a mommy. Mommies and I agree that clothes should comfortable, transition well, and wearable. Bring on the cozy and chic!

Great place to find gifts. The owner and the staff are super nice and helpful. If you’re in Montavilla, definitely stop in and check it out.

The minute you walk by this store you are totally enticed to see what is all inside because it just looks so cute and I LOVE the name.
They have a large selection of Tom’s shoes. I bought my first pair here :)
From kids to adult sizes, and all kinds of funky colors and patterns.
The candles here are so yummy. I have bought three already and they just make the house smell so cozy!
There are a lot of interesting clothes here. Kind of thrift store like but really great quality. There is a tiny play area for kids so you can shop around and the kidos can have fun as well. Win win for all!
Locally made purses and wallets always catch my eye in this store.
The card selection is fun.
The jewelry is ridiculously beautiful and reasonably priced.
There are some super cute kids toys.

Did you know that every day, every hour, dozens of adorable, handcrafted items go unbought and unpossessed by me? By the time you gloss over this review, another ruffly top made by a Portland designer will remain on a hanger, not in my closet. A set of tea towels with screen-​printed animals in bold hues will not sit in a drawer in my kitchen, not urging polite company to wipe their hands. Earrings, hand lotions, decorative pieces of paper, crockery, children’s toys, and Toms shoes will be unused and unloved by me. And if you knew how much I love a solid piece of crockery, you would have crocodile tears in your eyes right now. Sarah McLachlan and all her big-​eyed pets would weep.
But you can prevent this tragedy from unfolding. Just mail or wire your contribution to me, Kimberly V, and you can help fight the lack of Branch and Birdie goods in my life. I will gladly purchase gifts for others at Branch and Birdie, because I tend to like my others and believe the others deserve the quality that comes with non-​massed-​produced trinkets. When it comes to lavishing the finer things on myself, however, my self-​charity tends to stop at the wine aisle. And all the Branch and Birdie things remain homeless. Cue the chorus where Sarah sings «In the arrrrms of the angeeeeel.» Don’t let nice things go un-​had by me. Help them seek a place in my home.

What a lovely store! I can always find such wonderful, unique products and the shop owner is helpful.

What an unexpected little gem. I came here on a friend’s recommendation, and I know that I’ll be back often to find gifts for others and clothes for myself. It’s rare to find a store with home items and jewelry as well as a carefully curated selection of clothing, but Branch and Birdie has it all.

Super place to find your unique items like whale plates, octopus wood pictures, baby clothes, womens clothes, jewelry.
It’s a terrific place for unusual gift items and it’s not just a kids store!
NOTE: I just went back and bought the octopus wood picture as it kept haunting me. So glad I did because it was the last one.

Branch and Birdie is my go-​to shop for gifts! There is a great selection that is constantly changing. In Portland, many boutiques have extremely pricey merchandise; Branch and Birdie does a great job of offering quality selection at a reasonable price. Who doesn’t love going one place for women’s apparel, jewelry, baby items and housewares?
This is a gem!

Great spot! It’s a mix of childrens/​womens/​mens wear (but mostly women’s) candles, gifts, jewelery and other cool swag.
I have been looking for a school bag forever. My current Jansport gives the «Hi I’m in high school» impression, so it was time to update.
Branch and Birdie had rad bags for cheap and I walked out with a candle or two… and the name of a place that does terrariums. :)

Way more than a home décor store! This is a very kid and mom friendly store. :) Probably because the owners are moms themselves. Their kiddos are often present as well.
They have clothing –I think most, if not all, is hand made!, jewelry, stationary, toys and clothes for kids, purses, and handy stuff for your kitchen too. I found several things there that help me and my family in my efforts to be green.
And best of all, they have kids music and yoga several times a week – for free! It’s a great place to take the kiddos on a rainy day. Plenty of room to sprawl and even park your stroller inside. :)
It’s one of my new favorite stores. :) One of those places I go for gift shopping.

This is a great store. They have tons of candles (Voluspa) that smell awesome and perfume (Mor, Tokyo Milk) and other lusciousness.
The co-​owner that helped me tonight was extremely friendly, and a mom. There is a play room with awesome toys. There is a schedule with great sounding kiddie activities. I am stoked about bringing my son here on one of our rainy days and escaping OMSI and Play Boutique for something new. Then maybe we’ll hit up one of the yummy restaurants super close-​by on Stark.

This neighborhood has recently become vastly more interesting.

I was walking down Stark with my Gentleman Caller when I noticed this store. Actually, I didn’t notice the store quite so much as I noticed a serving platter with a sperm whale from the Thomas Paul Melamine-​Scrimshaw Collection. I can suggest that in a refined manner, held my gentleman’s arm and commented on how elated I was to see maritime culture commemorated on a platter but this is Portlandia and not Charleston. I jumped up and down and tugged on boyfriend’s sleeve while pointing and yelling, «thar she blows!»
We decided I was too riled up to actually enter the store.
Several days later, I had composed myself and was finally able to wander in with a friend of mine. Now, I’m no stranger to fits of girly but I like to try and maintain a certain level of shopping shruggery. What happened to me in this store was girl-​level ultra obscene. This store is adorable and full of cool bags, awesome jewelery, feathery head bands, mugs and pint glasses and all sorts of things you never knew you couldn’t live without.
Aside from the cute overload, the staff is really excellent. What sets them apart is that they seem excited about what they have in their store, they can talk to you like it’s their first time seeing whatever item you hold up and wave in the air. Great finds and a great all around experience to boot.

Kind of a cross between Presents of Mind and Coco and Toulouse Go Shopping, if those two were combined and tucked into one of those Ikea ‘small spaces’ showrooms. Is that wrong to compare a shop to two others? It’s still pretty new, and I hope they will take advantage of the large area they have in due time. Right now, not a ton of stuff for the available space, but you can definitely tell everything is thoughtfully selected.
Nice home gifties for adults, including the Voluspa candle line, Butter nail polishes, baubles, and dishes, plus lots of cutie toys, clothes, and décor for kids. Speaking of kids, this is a kid-​friendly shop, with a large play area to one side. So, if you like taking the little ones with you, you certainly could. If you like to avoid ankle-​biters while you’re out shopping Montavilla, ya done been forewarned.
Decent prices, friendly folks working, and adorable goods. Montavilla’s slow but steady transformation continues to take a turn for the classy. As long as I can still keep Thatcher’s in view from any of these new chi-​chi shops, I don’t freak out (too much).

What a sweet little store! I totally stumbled upon this place while walking up the street on First Friday in Montavilla and I almost didn’t go in. I’m definitely glad I did.
At first glance from the front window this store looks to be a kid’s toy/​clothing store. There is a large play area up front for kids’ activities and the gear in the front area is all for children. The unstoppable HIlary B dragged me in with a «let’s check it out anyway» and we were quite surprised to find a treasure trove of cool home décor and gifts in the back.
Branch and Birdie stocks fairly design-​forward home furnishings, gifts, jewelry, knick-​knackery, etc. They have a pretty eclectic selection of stuff that I could easily spend a lot of $$ on, including some Pantone coffee mugs I’ve been lusting after online. In fact, they had quite a few items that I’ve seen on design blogs stocked on their shelves, so it was an instant attraction for me.
I didn’t spend too much time shopping but we did score a really cool gift for our friend’s baby-​to-​be here and I’ll surely be back, either when it’s time to buy more gifts, or I have a wad of $$ burning a hole in my pocket.
Don’t be fooled by the kiddo stuff up front, there’s plenty for us sort-​of-​adults in the back as well.
