Brewvana is committed to embracing the history and culture of the brewing industry in Portland by introducing people to the vast selection of beer that Portland has to offer. This one-​of-​a kind tour experience includes transportation to and from Portland’s award winning breweries as well as the smaller, upcoming breweries on a little white short bus. The all inclusive tour also provides lots of beer samples, food, meet and greet with the brewer, tours of the facility, trivia and more. There are weekly public tours every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, monthly seasonal tours and private tours available anytime! You must register online to book your seat. Whether you are an ametueur imbiber or a ceravisaphile, you will be guaranteed to reach BREWVANA: the euphoric state of awareness, appreciation and love for Portland’s finest craft beer.

History

Established in 2011.

BREWVANA was founded by Ashley Rose Salvitti out of her love and passion for Portland and all things craft beer. As a transplant from the east coast and a local beer server, she found herself playing tour guide for friends and family that came to visit. She realized it was an overwhelming task to decide where to go with so many choices and decided to create a brewery tour experience that highlighted the immense selection in a way that was approachable, educational and FUN for guests.

By working with her friends in the brewing industry and using her service experience in the industry she created the ULTIMATE experience, and BREWVANA was born.

Our first tour was on April 8, 2010 and we have been growing and evolving ever since. We have introduced over 4,000 guests from all over the world to the craft brewing industry in Portland by experiencing BREWVANA! We have recently been named best drinking tour in the US by Yahoo and been featured on CNN.

Ashley Rose S.

Business Owner

Ashley Rose loves beer. She blames her father for spoiling her taste buds at an early age, which has led to her current SNOB status. Papa Sal let her sip off of the finest brews that upstate New York had to offer as a toddler in the early 80s. Years later he always had the fridge stocked with his newest favorite dogfish head, or a growler of the local IPA. While most high school students pounded Bud Lights and 40s, Ashley Rose was enjoying handcrafted ales that she snagged from the assortment in the garage. As a proud mug club member, Papa Sal urged his daughter to get a job at the local brewery when she was 17. And so she did. She has been serving delicious beer ever since. Although he is sad that Ashley lives across the country, he is comforted knowing that she is in the beer capitol of the world: Portland, Oregon. Ashley Rose loves beer and is passionate about the history and culture of the craft brewing industry in Portland and she want’s to share it with you!

Went on a beer tour and loved it! Margot and Matthew were excellent hosts. We got to meet a beer celebrity John Harris on the tour and learn so much about yeast, hops, the process of fermenting and other things. We began with light samplers at one location, then moved on to a meal at the next brewery with accompanying beers, then to our third brewery with some trivia and prizes. We got to keep commemorative glasses for Brewvana. I’d recommend anyone to take this tour whether they brew beer or are interested in just having a great time!

Excellent tour! We got a VIP tour with the founder Ashley. No one else booked seats, so we bought an extra ticket just so we could still do the tour with just 3 people. Ashley was so accommodating. The bus is super cool. We even got a surprise visit from her husband and kid. It was just an all around super personal experience. We went to four breweries. The brewers at Laurelwood were super laid back and hung out with us in back of the brewery just joking and having a good time. We had so much fun and such a great experience. Thank you Ashley, and Brewvana!

So much fun! My girlfriend and I were visiting from California and we both love beer (particularly me) and given the overwhelming amount of breweries in Portland decided to embark on a Brewvana tour. We did the Saturday Imbibing Tour, four breweries total, multiple beer samples at each, production tours and info, and you can buy bottles/​growlers along the way and drink them on the bus! Jared, our bus driver /​tour guide was awesome! He was both funny and informative, and made the experience feel less like your typical guided tour and more like a party on wheels. Our group was awesome as well. Given we were out-​of-​towners we were slightly concerned we might get stuck with some lame/​boring folks on the tour, but everybody was super cool! There were 5 other couples and we were all buddies by the end of the tour. They picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel (Doubletree by Hilton, highly recommend if you’re visiting) which was perfect.
The tour was both educational and loads of fun. You get a pretzel necklace as a palate-​cleanser and something to munch on, some shared plates to ease the buzz, a beer journal so you can take notes and remember what you’ve enjoyed (after so many beers it’s VERY helpful) and a pilsner glass that is yours to keep. Overall it was a fantastic experience which you MUST do if you’re visiting Portland.
P.S: I brought 2 tall beers from Hopworks back to Cali, I drank one already and it immediately brought me back to the great time we had! It’s only a matter of time before I cave and pop open the other one.

She was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and fun. We learned so much about Portland and about beer in general. The tour was a blast; the beers and breweries were fantastic. Highly recommend Brewvana.

Our first time in Portland we knew we wanted to taste some beer… but we were overwhelmed and didn’t know one neighborhood from the next. Before we flew in to the city we booked a four hour tour to visit four breweries via a bus. Matthew picked us up on his little bus and from the minute we stepped on we knew we we made the best decision by choosing Brewvana.
The beer samples were delicious and the brewpubs were quite generous with their pours. We received lots of information on beer 101, brewing process, and a fascinating history of Portland craft beers.
Unforgettable experience, will be talking about this for years to come I’m sure.

When: July 7, 2015 — Pearl District Walking Tour
Our host, Theresa was an excellent tour guide filled with Beer 101 Knowledge, PDX Historical Fact tidbits, Friendliness and most importantly Patience. When we began the tour, in the Deschutes Brewery Restaurant, Theresa filled us with Beer 101 knowledge and even one of the Deschutes Brewmasters came out for a Q & A session. He answered all questions, no matter how mundane or stupid they may have been. While we were walking to our next destination, Theresa filled our time with PDX Historical facts, that most people may know or not and by the time we reached our final destination, Rogue Brewery, everyone was already feeling jolly & talking loud, she patiently let all parties be themselves and enjoy the moment.
This walking tour takes you to three (3) Brewery Restaurant Pubs, 1) Deschutes Brewery 2) Pints Brewing and 3) Rogue Brewing. This tour is an easy walk through the Pearl and Old Town districts with no hills etc. Additonally, you may even be able to make new friends, just like us… We stayed at Rogue Brewery long after the tour ended and became real good friends with this other couple from Winnipeg Canada, who was on the tour also, whom we traded email addresses with.
I definitely recommend this tour for any beer lover, whether a novice or expert, in craft beers… you will definitely appreciate the depth and understand why Portland and the Pacific Northwest in general, is the mecca for the Craft Beer Industry.

Went back to Portland a couple weeks ago for a friend’s birthday. I decided to book a Brewvana tour again since I had such a great time the first time I visited Portland. This time I opted for the Mississipin’ walking tour. And let me just say Stephen and Theresa were such great tour guides! They were very knowledgable about beer (duh) and were entertaining and attentive. We had so much fun sampling beer, walking around the little neighborhood around the breweries, and just enjoying good company. Out of the three breweries we visited, I’d say Ecliptic was my favorite, the Aurora Saison was THE ONE. So tasty and refreshing especially since it was pretty warm out, definitely a change from the first time i visited in February. The perfect tour for the time of year. Booking a Brewvana tour should be an obligatory activity when visiting Portland from now on! Brewvana you’re the best! :)

OH MY MY… if you are new to Portland and want to check out the place while getting beers on the way, then this is it! It is totally worth every $$, and I was skeptical when I first registered as well… but my doubts were cast away the moment I stepped onto the Brewvana bus and Matt welcomed me with a thunderous high-​five! The amazing fact was that he remembered my name the whole way through… which made the day so much better.
If you are new to the Portland culture or just want to chill… THIS IS IT!

Spent a fun afternoon with Matthew from Maryland and toured Ex Novo, Ecliptic and Alameda breweries with business colleagues. Matthew is the quintessential brewery tour bus driver. He was knowledgeable, articulate, and kept us on schedule while ensuring we enjoyed the ride.
Highly recommend a Brewvana brewery tour to build camaraderie between clients, colleagues and friends. And definitely request Matthew as your guide.

A great way to spend a day! DONT PLAN ANYTHING AFTER. Three breweries is more than enough to get you… relaxed…for the rest of the day. Our guide (I wanna say Theresa from Alaska) was really cheery and cool. She was very enthusiastic and made for an interesting tour. The beers are good craft beers, and I did like the apps, although I was a little hungrier than that. Be sure to eat before you go because you will get your money’s worth. Thanks guys for helping me out in a crunch, and for giving me a great time!
~Side note, yellow line train leaves you about a half mile from the ecliptic brewery, and the walk is uphill :(. It’s still better than risking driving.

I do a few trade shows during the year and hate doing the typical sit down dinner when entertaining customers. That being said, I decided to give Brewvana a try.
The staff is very helpful and came up with a custom tour /​dinner event to suit our needs.
The door to door service was great.
Our guide Margot made the night. She was fun, engaging, attentive, knowledgeable, and very accommodating.
The feedback from everyone was very positive.

The most fun you can have with your clothes on.
These gals know how to party. Extremely fun, knowledgeable staff that would make for an excellent tour if you are visiting Portland or just looking for a fun thing to do in town with friends. I love that they choose «rare» microbreweries on the east side of the river, and small businesses that deserve our love and support. The buses are super fun to ride in and even have fancy cupholders for your beers.
The guides have thought of it all — even lids for the mason jars– and makes for a stress free and fun way to explore the best of the Portland beer scene.

The tour was fantastic!
I won’t spoil the specifics of the tour, but just know it is very well worth your money. You get plenty of beer and lotsa lil appys from the various pubs!
They visit awesome breweries like Coalition and Hopworks Urban Brewery.
