Car Wash Washman

Well, how do you rate a machine that washes your car? As for the staff, they take my money nicely. However, I give them a 3 b/​c the staff never sprays down the passenger side of the car before it goes thru or use the scrub brush attachment.

I do the $ 20.00 per month for unlimited washes. And believe me that the unlimited is a real thing. I work near the wash so I am washing my truck 3 times a day. Excessive??? Absolutely!!!
But I can’t stop. I’m addicted to the wash !!!

You get what you pay for here, I suppose. Though with a coupon, a full-​service car wash can get near these prices, it cannot actually reach this level of thrift. The only option more parsamonius would be the self-​serve washes offered in the area.
I went to use a self-​serve option earlier (SE Powell and 39^th) but the spotless rinse wasn’t working so I came here. The attendants were extremely friendly and explained everything I needed to know up front. Things were un-​rushed. The wash was your typical automated tunnel with its rotating brushes and jets of soapy water and colorful polishes. The wash ultimately did not remove all the gunk I wanted it to remove, necessitating another car wash or particular spot treatment. That being said, these type of car washes serve a purpose and perhaps it isn’t to remove all that gunk after all, but to attain and preserve a certain shine.

My once-​through took off all the springtime pollen and flowers that stuck to my car in the dry spell between showers.
Nobody there on the other side to dry me off, but I’ll take what I can get for $ 6.

Usually when those vacuums take your money I get mad, but not here, where the guy walked over and reset the machine giving me a free run. That’s a very nice thing to do.

The pooch isn’t the only mud puppy in the house. Apparently the Mini also likes wallowing in the dirt. Despite the departure of those dreaded fluffy white flakes, the gravel & sand don’t seem to be going anywhere. As a result, a few snowshoeing trips & jaunts around town have turned the purple jelly bean into a grimy geode. It’s so filthy no one even wants to draw a dirt pig on it saying «Wash me!» Poor neglected, grungy, purple piglet.
Have driven by this spot countless times & even bought gas from them but was still leery of partaking of the car spa services. Capt Hook is a pretty happy-​go-​lucky marauder with a few set quirks: No diet anything – eat less & exercise more! No «Made in China» goods if there’s any other alternative – I like my food & toys melamine/​lead-​free, how ’bout you? No car washes with brushes/​bristles – scratches & dings from King-​of-​the-​Road-​Die-​Environment-​Die SUV’s are plenty, thanks!
Anyhoo, sometimes desperation is rewarded with serendipity. Don’t tell the Cap’n but sometimes rules are meant to be twisted. Rolled in to refuel & get a lil’ scrub down. Color me surprised when I realized that the wash is a series of soft cloth systems! Got the Works: exterior wash & hand finish, triple liquid foam polish, clearshield coat, tire dressing, & air dryers for $ 10 ($ 1 off with minimum 8 gal fill-​up, score!). After guiding you into the conveyor system, the nice attendant sprays you with soap & manually soaps up the little nooks & crannies in the back. [whir. sploosh. blapblap. whoosh.] Voilà, shiny happy purple jelly bean.
