Great cheap food and some of the food are the same as the one’s they sell at Safeway. I would pick and choose what you buy here; no reason to buy expensive food from other places.

A great place to save some $$ on veggies, meat, kitchen gear… I could go crazy here, but sadly we only have two freezers and two refrigerators. Splitting foodstuffs with my daughter saves us both $$. Well stocked, easy to find.

Great place for my needs. I shop for 2 bars with limited menus. Mid range quality food items, nothing crazy high end… but that’s great for me. If you want it frozen to fryer they probably have it. Only complaint, I go typically in the afternoon, and they never have decent boxes. Apparently it’s a staffing issue, which makes sense because the people that do work there seem stretched, but still highly functioning.

I love getting Dave’s Killer Bread for under 4 dollars. I love the convenience of this Cash and Carry. I love all the seasonings, syrups, and sauces they have. That being said, being able to buy a single onion or tomato would be awesome. I understand that this is a restaurant supply store, but they would be wise to accept EBT, especially because there are multiple restricted-income apartments nearby.

Do you need a shit load of something? Cash & Carry has your back. Gigantic bottle of ketchup? 500 cocktail napkins? A half ton bag of oranges? If your shopping list sounds a little something like that, Cash & Carry is your one stop shop. It’s like a mini costco that only carries food and other things restaurant might need such as napkins, skewers, or salt shakers. Unless you have a huge family or a restraunt this might not be your daily grocery store. But, it’s nice to know a place like this exists, per– say you’re throwing a party or decide to pursue your dream of opening a burrito pizza fusion cart. They don’t have your normal shopping carts, they have these flat bed things you drag around like Ikea. I had to have a mini tutorial from the store staff, I could see the fear in their eyes as I pulled the cart around, bumping it into just about everything in my path. Tip of the trade: Pull the cart behind you, makes all the difference. With the small hic-up behind me it was all green lights through the rest of my shopping trip. The best part? My total was about half of what I was excepting. Prices are extremely cheap. Do they have artisan salts or olive oils? No. With a name like«Cash & Carry» did you really think they would? They do have gigantic bags of Bobs Red Mill, but outside of that it’s all big brand names. Check you’re ego at the door and enjoy the low low prices.

I was really glad I stumbled upon this place whilst running around the outer Pearl District. From the outside it looks like a sketchy low cost supermarket you find on the wrong side of the tracks, and it kind of is, but once inside you can find so many items you would usually buy at Freddies for way less, especially if you want bulk. Next time we have a party I’m stopping here, meat, fish, produce, dairy, coffee, napkins plates, everything plus lots of cheap latin food especially– a gallon of nacho cheese sauce anyone? I typically buy those coffee syrups from the grocery store, they are almost half the price here!

They carry«Tigar Sauce» hot sauce. It’s the best and I haven’t found it anywhere else.

My good lord cups are expensive. So are all the accoutrement that are required to set up and outfit a working bar. Bus tubs, quart size store-n-pours, pour spouts, napkins, straws, etc, etc, etc. I think most average consumers have no idea how much all this shit costs when they’re complaining about having to pay more than $ 3 for a hamburger or more than $ 4 for a cocktail. Sure the food might not cost that much(actually, now days, it does, and more) but all the crap it takes to actually make and serve it add up fast. Restaurant supplies are expensive. If you don’t believe me, stop by Cash & Carry some time and see how much cups’ll run ya. Not to say that C&C is overpriced. It actually has some competitive prices… and tons of supplies for running and outfitting a restaurant or bar. Everything from food to glassware to cooking supplies. And much of it cheaper than at other restaurant supply stores. But for the casual person buying this stuff in quantity for random occasions, it sure is eye-opening. This isn’t my first rodeo. I know how much this stuff costs. But as I buy more quantity, it really gets driven home in my psyche. Next time you get pissed that some restaurant won’t give you a large cup for free for water, or that food costs have gone up, go down to C&C and see how much those cups cost. And buy a cheap bag of limes while you’re at it. I mean damn, those limes are priced to move!

This is so conveniently located near my office, and I had a tailgate party to cook for, so I ran in to check on their pork prices.(Pulled pork) I scored 10 lb. for $ 16. It was beautiful pork loin chunks that didn’t have much fat. I also got a screaming good deal on a carton of egg whites and a big tray of raspberries. I will remember this store and use it whenever I need quantities in a hurry. I did note, however, that some of the produce looked a little flat. But they have a great candy selection :-)

Ok, so I love to save money. I love to get a deal. It is really not a financial need as much as it is a sport. I am not cheap. I don’t buy cheap things and I don’t forgo things that I want because of money. I just love a good deal. I can’t buy anything at the grocery store without comparing unit rates. I blame(or credit) my mother for this. She raised me this way. She didn’t really have a choice in the matter, it is in our blood. Since I just moved here, I needed to refill my pantry with all the basics. After complaining about flour prices at Fred Myers, a friend asked me if I had heard of Cash & Carry. «It is a lot like Costco», she said, «but they carry smaller quantities too.» Cash & Carry is great. It is bare bones. It is unclassy in the sense that there are birds flying around the rafters. Walk in a grab a dolly because you just don’t know how much you are going to walk out with. The prices are good. Buying here you will not save on everything, but on most things. Certain things will save you big time. Want to buy vanilla extract? 4 oz at Fred Myers will run you $ 11.49. At Cash & Carry we bought a 16oz bottle of pure vanilla extract for $ 7.57. That is nothing short of amazing. Some things are actually a worse deal here, though, so be careful. Need spaghetti or flour? Those were actually more than they would be at Fred Myers. Shopping here may require the sick obsession to know that you are always getting the best price. It might not be as fun if you don’t already know, by heart, all the prices in your regular store. But, it is definitely worth trying — especially if you are having a party. Oh, and just because it is called Cash & Carry doesn’t mean you need cash. You can use all major credit cards — which means you can rack up those percent back points while you save…
