I love shopping at New Seasons. I can always find what I need here. While it can get expensive, I know the quality is the best out there. You won’t find pre-packaged raw meat here or tons of processed foods. This store is a great addition to the NW Portland neighborhood.

I come here about once a week when I’m in the hood. It’s just as good as the other regular stores I go too(hollywood, williams). Sometimes their sandwich bar is painfully slow and their hot food runs low but I imagine they are working out the kinks. New Seasons is a great company to support. They treat their employees well.

It’s New Seasons and if you live in the Portland area you should know what you are getting. Compared to the other stores I feel this one ranks a little higher but that could be because it’s brand new. The people are friendly and they always have what I’m looking for. Seems like they have a good amount of parking but I’m sure at normal busy hours it’s likely to be totally full. It’s nice finally having a New Seasons store in close-in NW Portland.

Having recently broken up with Whole Foods I was intrigued when New Seasons Market opened in my neighborhood. I had never been to a New Seasons Market before and was pleasantly overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff, the array of every-day and harder to find products available in the store, local purveyors, and the beautiful patio with outdoor seating and heat lamps. The pricing prevents me from doing all my grocery shopping at New Seasons but it’s my go to for fill-in products, not so guilty pleasures(olive cibatta loaf, macha) and treats(fresh produce, local cheese, Ruby Jewel pints, growler-fill, wine…). They also have a great bulk section of spices, grains, etc and an in-store bar(with happy hour) that I haven’t yet properly utilized…

It’s been open a few months but I just made it here. I am a frequent shopper at new seasons and while this isn’t the most convenient to me(why wasn’t it here when I did live in the area!?). It has the nicest space of any i have been to(and that’s saying a lot as they are all really nice). It also is big I found things I haven’t seen in Beaverton but still no garlic bread(bring it back, please!). The staff here seem even friendlier then others and of course the ready to eat and produce are amazing, like all New Seasons. I imagine the big patio like area out front is popular in the summer. It’s a great store and seems to be setting a new high bar for the company.

This is by far the best grocery store I have ever been to. I love this place and swear by it. I wouldn’t really eat the prepared food much, as it’s not super great(just like any other grocery store, no matter how fancy)… but no one can beat New Seasons on customer service, selection, location, atmosphere, and even price(when compared to similar establishments.)

This is a great New Seasons location, and the service is lovely. It’s the second best New Seasons in town, other than the one in NE.

I love New Seasons, and this location is amazing. I’m so glad that one was put in NW! Everyone at this store is always super helpful and friendly. Since I’m a beginner cook, I always go to the meat counter and they always give you tips and tricks for cooking and recipes. They also always debone your salmon as long as you ask. My only(somewhat gripe) is that at the ramen/wok station, if you get a small bento box, they charge you the same amount as a large wok while only getting about half the food. Not exactly sure why…

This New Season shines. Mostly because the staff is superior. From the meat department(Who are like seriously the nicest guys and gals you ever met) to the checkers and the cheese counter, they treat you like a royal. The other comments about the prices are not wrong, but I also knew what I was getting into. I shop at New Seasons and Whole Foods type health grocery stores often. I find what I get these places sure beats the alternative and with any prices I won’t budge on, I simply go elsewhere. Nice living in a big city with choices huh? Another fabulous feature of this store is the sweet patio with fire heaters and a perfect bike lock up right in front! As well as a quaint little(free) parking lot. As always their return policy is impeccable and I never feel like a nuisance when having to utilize it.(The other day I returned 3 things! Yikes! But no hassle and replaced it with things I love) Definitely the best New Seasons out there.

Night and day, just night and day between this and other grocery stores. This is like shopping at a luxurious restaurant where you get to buy the items they prepare. The only thing I do wish for is that the pricing was better: that was my reason for 4(rather than 5) stars. New Seasons is quite expensive on certain items, and has limited selection as well, which I did not expect from the size of the store. Of course, the wine selection was incredible, which is a good thing. The way the vegetable department is set up probably requires just a bit of getting used to. Their staples seemed to encompass a rather large choice for the alternative eater(gluten-free, macro-types, etc.). Hopefully I can keep on affording to shop here every once in a while – just to enjoy the ambiance!

This updates my review yesterday. I emailed Country Natural Beef, Wes Davies, Marketing, and asked if the cattle received any GMO grain. His response is as follows: «The beef we supply New Seasons is fed a finishing ration that doesn’t include any corn or any GMO ingredients. However, the animals may have consumed GMO feed prior to finishing. We estimate that about 25% of the cattle that are in this program have eaten GMO grain at some point in their life prior to finishing.» This is a bit contrary from what the New Seasons butcher told me yesterday. NOCOUNTRAYTNATURALBEEFFORMEAFTERALLCUZ I WANTTOBEUNEQUIVOCALLYCOMPLETELYGMOFREE! Note: beware of info supplied at any store, go direct to the farmer for accuracy. This 2 star is not a cut on the overall great products and services at New Seasons, more about the info supplied not«right on» and misleading!

This is a nice store, but the prices are rather insane. I’ve found prices at Whole Foods to be cheaper than the sale prices at New Seasons. For more conventional items the situation is even worse. The New Seasons /Whole Foods delta may only be a few cents, but the New Seasons /conventional grocer delta sometimes hovers near 50%. I don’t mind paying a little more, but the prices here are high enough that I usually just go to Whole Foods or Fred Meyer depending on what I’m looking for.

Always a great experience when I go here! I mostly eat lunches here and am so glad I don’t have to pay restaurant prices anymore. I’ve been waiting for this for nearly a year and so grateful. I love the arepa bar! Good job guys very clean and nice addition to the NW Portland neighborhood.

The only ding is the price, but that’s not something this location can control! Stoked to have a new seasons in my neighborhood now. In the last 4 days, I’ve been 5 times at different hours. Everyone is friendly here and the place is kept clean and positive. Nice patio in the front to chill day or night time along with designated overflow parking in the Conway lot across the street(the new seasons parking can be a little tight). You can’t go wrong with a new seasons in any location — I’m just happy I have one next to home now!

I LOVENEWSEASONS! This one is brand spankin’ new. I joked that I could live here but in all seriousness, I could spend entire days here. I love the layout of this store and the fact that there’s not that many businesses around it. Don’t get me wrong, I like the other New Seasons locations Portland too but sometimes I don’t want to drive down a tiny, one-way, Portland street and search for parking before I can do my grocery shopping. They have a ramen bar, an ice machine, coffee bar, ample garage parking, and a great outdoor patio area.

I have to write this review. I hope it helps the new employees if they should read this. Especially the sandwich makers. The store itself is beautiful. Selection is great. Cheese… they have cheese and OHEMGEE it all looks so good. There is even a bar that you can sit at and have drinks of the alcoholic type. Super fab! The selections are endless and everything looks tempting. So tempting that I have been there 3 times since they opened a few weeks ago but haven’t had anything to eat from there. Today, I went in on my lunch hour so excited to try something of the food type from there. I scoured the shelves, refrigerated sections, salad bar, hot food and then, to my delight, a sandwich special that sounded delicious yet simple jumped out at me. A grilled cheese with fig jam for $ 5.99. Yum right? I filled out my order slip and waited impatiently for about 10 minutes. Finally I was handed a kind of greasy small package. I made my way to the register when I noticed that the sandwich was marked $ 6.99 and not $ 5.99. I told the cashier who was super sweet and she changed the price back for me. I paid and dashed back to work and to my desk as quickly as I could. I opened the package to find a dismally small sandwich, the smallest pieces of sourdough bread had been used from the loaf it appeared. I noticed then that the cheese was everywhere and burnt to the wrapper. I tried to pry the sandwich up off the wrapper only to have the wrapper tear and stick to my sandwich. I desperately teared at the sandwich trying to get the wrapper off only to have to give up some of the already small amount of bread that I had. Then I noticed that there was barely any cheese and just a small smear of fig spread on the greasy mess that was my sandwich. I was about in tears by this point but bravely took a bite, almost to have my teeth yanked out by the tough bread that was hard and over cooked. I madly tore up pieces of the sandwich and swallowed what I could chew. I threw out the ends of the sandwich because the rock hard substance wasn’t fit for human consumption. Then I logged into Unilocal and wrote this review in hopes that the management or someone, anyone would read this and offer more training to the sandwich makers. It will probably make someones day but not mine because I wont be buying anymore sandwiches from that counter.

About two-and-one-half years ago, some friends and I were having lunch at St. Honore Boulangerie and having a great old time. This is where we overheard that a New Seasons Market was going to open in a couple of years somewhere over near NW Raleigh Street. It was not going to even be all that near where we lived, but still in our neighborhood. We were so pleased to hear this good news because the nearest one of their stores to us at the time was over in the Beaverton-Hillsdale area. Fast forward two-and-one-half years to yesterday. I knew that this New Seasons was having its grand opening, but was too busy I thought to go over and observe the fun. However, my boss had been able to get hold of a Zipcar and«forced» me to go with her to the opening. When someone offers me a free ride some place, so I’m pretty ready to go with the fun flow. We made it over in seven minutes(this at 4 p.m.), split up, and made a sweep through the store. My first impression was simply how good everything smelled as I walked through the bower of flowers at the front entrance, which is a feature at many of the stores. I grabbed a cart and veered off to the right where all the cheese and wine and pre-prepared food was located. Very nice indeed and well organized. I grabbed some cheese samples on my way through and had a consultation with some nice marketing folks from Bridgeport. They looked at what I had in my basket and gave me some recommendations about what cider to get to go with my groceries. Right behind them was/is a bar for anybody to sit down, get something to drink, and wait out the grocery trip. When I was there, it was all taken up, and I suspect will continue to be the most popular feature in the store. The store has a great community atmosphere and feeling of friendliness. I ran into a couple of residents I had worked with at another building and hadn’t seen in some time(their infant son is now three; I gave him a baby gift), and I saw a lot of people run into each other much the same way. The architecture of the store fits in so perfectly with this neighborhood and is quite attractive. I had to move pretty quickly at this time so we wouldn’t return the Zipcar late. I did pick up crackers, white cheddar, tzatziki, and hummus for dinner, watermelon chunks for dessert, and that good cider for dinner(all delicious). The clerks are pretty thrilled with the new store and especially like the feature of the front part of the store being able to act like a regular garage door to open the front to cool breezes in the morning. My clerk mentioned loving the higher ceilings here. The parking area had pretty good flow and what seemed like enough parking, although it was crazy busy at the time we came. I look forward to coming back to this new New Seasons and taking the time to really inspect everything instead of being a speed racer. I’m glad the store is here and urge you to return to visit as well.
