History
Established in 2001.
While Chez Machin’s food is based on the local and rural cuisine of France, it has grown and changed with the times and culture of the Hawthorne neighborhood.
Chef Seth Neeser took over the kitchen in 2008. Since that time he has continued to improve and update the menu to keep up with the times. Keeping things fresh, current, local, and delicious is on the top of our priority list.

Diane P.
Business Owner
Portland native and married to a Frenchman, Diane has more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality business. Former owner of Vinideus, a NE Portland and Pearl district Jazz and Wine Bar, she has lived in France where she learned the importance of «qualité de vie». She also ate a lot of crepes!
Now at Chez Machin, along with her husband, they are striving to recreate the ambiance of a typical French Bistro. Stop in and look for the red beret.
